I'm only giving these 4 stars, but I did just order my second pair. I'm 5'9 185 - standard tree guy size. I wear a 10.5 regular width for everything - boots, running shoes, air force 1s - everything, and these were a perfect fit. I took a star away because they chew through laces. Something about the eye lids just roughs up the laces and eventually, when tightening the laces it'll just snap the lace. So keep extra on hand. This was my first pair of Carolinas so maybe it was that 1 pair, or the way I pull laces..? I don't know, but like I said, I ordered my second pair since the fit is too perfect. They also have great support for me. I can't wear flat soles - my feet will hurt, so I need the loggers. These feel great. The water proofing is spectacular too. I'm in some swamp backyards in PA and my feet stay dry as a bone. These lasted me about 5 months, but I was in them for over 60 hrs a week over 6-7 days for the week, so I feel like 5 months is decent.

Solid pair of boots, still braking in. The true test of a work boot is time though. Nice tight heel. Could use some cushion.

Pretty nice at first ....no real break in period needed ....total junk though these boots lasted 2 months ..hardly worth the investment..unless your super light or / and dont have to work to hard . When put to the test these boots failed.

I work on my feet and needed a non-slip, water resistant, comfortable boot that could endure hours of movement without wearing down. And, of course, I wanted it to look fashionable too. THIS IS IT. I was worried that the tall heel would take away from their comfort or mobility, since I don't usually wear heels -- but they're not bothersome at all. This are genuine leather, so the boots are pretty tight when you first wear them and take days to properly break-in. They are also very heavy, so prepare for that, and WARM. Your feet will be sweating by day's end, but if you work on your feet, then you're probably used to that anyway. If you're planning on wearing thicker socks or prefer more wiggle room for your feet, buy a them half size up -- these guys are snug. I bought true-to-size, and although my boots are officially broken in, my right foot (aka my naturally larger foot) still has to be pulled and pushed a little harder for entry/exit. Aesthetically they're super cute for a work boot- I get compliments all day about them -and I love that the manufacturer left the top few lace notches as optional, so you decide how you want to lace them up. Overall, I'd highly recommend this pair of boots!

These were a lot of work to get on the first couple of times, but they are already far more comfortable and supportive than my previous, cheap work boots. I am very happy with them and can only assume I will be even more happy as they break in over the next couple of months.

As a line maintenance worker I was going for the waterproof and comfort aspect of this boot. While not being able to experience the waterproof effectiveness I did however come to realize that after a solid 10 days of use, this pair of boots seem to not be broken in . and still hurts my feet. the level of comfort is not there and I cannot go a year (about the time frame my last pair stood up) in these. Also I have to wear 2 pairs of socks to stop the upper ankle support from rubbing hard against my upper ankle. They have really good grip I could say that.

I was skeptical of other reviews that said these run small. But they are definitely right. I'm normally wear a 9M. Ordered a 9 1/2 M. Could barely squeeze my foot in with moderately thick cotton socks. Back they go! But they are super cute for a work boot. They are also heavy (notice the weight). Understandable since they're a heavy duty work boot, but just be aware of that in case that's a factor in your decision.

These boots are going back. The color of the boot which shows as brown on the site leans very much to the orange side of brown. There is a liner in the shoe that's about 1/8 inch thick and that's all that's available for arch support. It's also described as being made of "Crazy Horse leather". I don't know what that is but these boots have a finish that feels and looks sueded. Composite maybe?

Ever so slightly tight but after wearing for a few days they are already conforming to my feet. I have not wetted them much yet; I know their first soaking will really help them fit perfectly. They are sturdy and stiff, as they should be, and provide tons of ankle support walking through the woods. So far they are waterproof, but I have not truly challenged them. A good looking work boot!

These shoes are cute comfortable to wear for 10 minutes and the leather is high quality. Toe box runs wide and is almost comparable to EE width for medium width with order size 9.5 D shoes. They seem a bit short, perhaps the same as a size 9 in Irish Setter. Unfortunately upon delivery, I realize that these shoes do not have arch support and the flat insole is sewn into the shoe. It is not possible to remove the insole and install an orthotic device for arch support. It breaks my heart, given the beautiful soft leather exterior, but this pair is going back to Zappos.

Holy cow! I’ll be buying more of these! In fact, these will replace my on clouds as day to day footwear because they are soooo comfortable. Seriously, I just tried them on and ended up taking a nap in them. I wear an 8 wide in Bella Vita, Naturalizer and Sam Edelman heels with extra cussion under the ball of the foot and at the heels to keep them from slipping off. I ordered these Carolinas in 8.5 wide and they fit with a comfortable snuggness in the toe box with some heel slip over my everyday socks. Just like the experts say boots should fit:) I expect they will expand a bit while I break them in which will be perfect for when I want to wear thicker socks but I will probably need to get a bigger size in a few years. I heard feet never stop growing.
