I needed boots for wildland Fire assignments, and I needed them to be 8 inches in height. The description states the heel is 2 inches & shaft is 6 inches, however, they feel well below 8 inches. Unfortunately, I had to return them. Please update the description. I didn't try them on, but they were attractive boots.

Beware, US sizing is way off. I bought these in 9, but they were huge and then I noticed that European size equivalent is 41 1/2. Most shoe companies have EU39/US9 conversion. I wish Zappos would display both numbers when choosing sizing. Sadly, they're going back, I'll try a size smaller.

Lightweight, fits great thanks to lace to toe design with the usual Asolo "tough as nails" durability. I worked for several hours in a downpour while wearing the Jumla boots, I was totally soaked but my feet were bone dry. Good traction on the trail! The lugs on the sole are not as deep as some other boots, so if you spend a lot time in the mud this may not be for you. Perfect for light and fast backpacking, scrambling over rocks, and approach

I've had these boots about a month now and have used them maybe 4 times on trails of varying difficulty in rocky mountain national park as well as locally in Golden, CO. So far, no complaints. The boots are much lighter than I would've anticipated and the bases seem incredibly solid, have no problems quickly tackling sharp and uneven rocks and surfaces. Haven't tried out its waterproofing abilities other than a puddle here and there. The ankle support seems like just enough without riding too high, getting mid height ankle socks is the way to go. Got the size 11 and its a perfect fit. With pretty much every shoe I buy I develop blisters, however none with these. Bringing them on a couple backpacking trips this summer and a few 14'ers so we'll see how they hold up. So far, these have been a stellar alternative to the classic Asolo boots.

I tried many brands and sizes and found this shoe perfect. It is comfortable and has the right amount of support. I wore them all day the very first day I got them. Normally I wear an 8, but the 7.5 were perfect.

This brand is known for excellent hiking boots but should also be praised for comfortable shoes to wear all day without pain. I work as an IT service tech and am on my feet for most of the day and wear asolo shoes daily....superb comfort and construction in a modern edgy design. Not really viable if you are required to dress up, but for daily walking or hiking rough terrain, these beast are my go to.

Great boot. Lasted me 9 years until the soles disintegrated. Not the most stylish boot in my opinion, but this thing hauls and will last you a long time. Great investment in durability and comfort.

I purchases these in an 10.5, which is slightly larger than the 10 I wear in most shoes and it worked perfectly. My feet are quite narrow and, despite ordering these in a B width, the shows were a little wide. I have to tie the shoes so tightly to make them not feel sloppy ... I think these can work with new shoelaces and new insoles. Not sure it's worth that effort.

These shoes felt great right out of the box. I bought them for an upcoming month long trip and am still in the process of wearing them in. So far so good. Really like the look of the shoe on my foot.

I wear a size 10 in regular shoes, a 10.5 in sneakers and often an 11 in hiking shoes. A 10.5 in these worked out great. Awesome ankle support. If I have a complaint, it's that they are enormous looking. But the ankle support is awesome and they are great for outdoor warm weather and snow hiking.

These aren't bad but have one fatal flaw. The tongue is stiff and is connected to the sides of the shoe in a "webbing." This webbing has creased on one shoe and pushes down pinching off a vein in my foot. I imagine this isn't a fluke.

I'm a huge fan of Asolo and these are great shoes as well! The ONLY reason I gave a 4 on the overall rating is the shoe laces. One of the best features of Asolo is that their laces typically stay tight - even without the hooks. But these loosen up more often than my others. Even still these are really great. Fast break in and comfortable out of the box. Did a 7 mile hike and they were perfect.

I've been buying Asolo's for years for their great soles and close, light and comfortable fit. I live near rocky terrain and go running/walking my dog, so I need a shoe that is light, water resistant and most importantly that grips to all manner of terrain well. I like the stickiness of their shoes. I like arch support, so I swap out their insole and replace it with an orthopedic one, and I'm good to go!

Nice boot. I ordered because someone said they run wide. This is not the case. They are pretty standard width. If you have a wide foot, look elsewhere. Also, the arch support isn't that great.

This is a vey cool, very comfortable, and very sturdy boot for hiking and even walks in town in cooler weather. It took me 3 sizes to find the one that fit, so order more than one if you are concerned. I wear at US size 7.5, which is usually a European 38 (or 37.5 if you can find one). This boot was way too long in the 7.5, so I went down to a 7, and again to a 6.5. The sizing chart on the box shows the size 7.5 to be a Euro 38 2/3. The length difference was mostly in the toe. I require my toes to wiggle in a shoe, and even in the 6.5 they have plenty of space and are not touching the end of the boot. I have learned that a shoe that is too long will cause stumbling. The arch is very good and it also was more comfortable in the smaller boot. This boot has the kind of interior padding that makes it feel like you are snuggling into it. Mostly it has all the good feel of a great fitting ski boot but without any of the bad parts. I wore this boot indoors to test for how hot it would feel. I forgot I had it on. So yes, this boot is worth the money. It is not an ugly boot but rather a gorgeous take on hiking boots. It is not too hot, and yet it will feel great in cooler weather, and it is not too heavy, so you can forget airline weight issues. Try one on, and consider ordering more than one size since returns are free.

I have a tough foot to fit: narrow heel, but wide in the ball of the foot. My previous Asolos fell apart after a number of years of hiking in the Sierras. I'm trying a 9 1/2, which is a full 1 -1 1/2 size larger than usual, because I injured my big toe last year from constant pounding on a 3-day backpacking trip. This shoe appears to be wider in the ball of the foot than many models, but I'm still finding it a little tight, and am hoping that it may ease out. The sole is wonderfully stable, which is a major selling point for me.

Absolutely great hiking shoe, and I tried about 10 different brands. Everyone's foot differs but I'm a medium width guy and these fit just right. Comfort and control are both essential in a hiking shoe....Asolo has it in spades.

I was so tired of the junky shoes my husband was wearing so I decided to buy a pair for him myself. These shoes are so beautiful!! He says they feel really good and are true to size. I plan on purchasing another pair in a different color.

Thank you! Zappos. After buying and returning several pairs of hiking boots, this Asolo is what I finally decided on. for you ladies who need more room in the toe box, plus arch support this boot has you covered. I've hiked in them 3 times already and no hot spots. And, did I mention? They're totally cute.

I've worn Asolo for more than 20 years. These sturdy boots do not disappoint. They are the same quality I've come to know. And the all-leather construction makes them much better than a synthetic material when it comes to keeping your feet dry when you're trudging through damp trails or even in puddles/rain.

I've had these shoes a couple years. They have taken a lot of daily abuse with ease. Sturdy on rough trail terrain and just as good for a stroll to the store. I'm pretty nervous about my next pair of shoes because these have worn so well. If they do earn their price it's in the durability department. The grey color though drab is excellent at not showing dust, dirt, wear and tear.
