I really liked the shoes but need a 61/2.

These are the cutest darn little boots! I bought the black with red trim and red heel. There is no stitching or seams on the toebox of the shoe so I was comfortable on a walking tour the first time I wore them. Arche is known for comfort and, even though they are pricey, I love every pair I own and especially appreciate their stylishness. The leather is very soft and pliable. I was able to wear a thin pair of anklet socks and the leather has enough give to accommodate them. The sole is flexible and has plenty of cushion. They have a short zipper at the heel of the boot and you have to catch the correct angle to get them to zip up easily. Not a problem, just mentioning it. As for size, I wear a 6 and have always found that the European 36 (not a 37) is the equivalent to a 6. I just love these booties. I try to wear a legging so that the red ankle trim can show. Lots of compliments.

just a word to those ordering by size chart. Have made few mistakes using EU size charts in the past. Finally learned that if you wear a size 7 order EU 37 not 38. If you order 38 the shoe will be a 7.5 and too loose. Hope this helps someone when ordering. By the way, awesome shoe, pleasantly surprised at quality and comfort.

These are a huge disappointment. Arche is all about comfort, and these boots have a number of manufacturing flaws that make them unbearable to wear. There are five seams at the top edge of the boot—one on each side of each of the two zippers and a seam in the back. Three of the five are made with some kind of scratchy sharp “thread” that feels like a fishing line scraping my skin immediately upon putting these on my feet. The other two—the fronts of the zippers—are flaps covering the zippers and have square corners that are irritating on the foot. I want to love these shoes because they are beautiful, and they are padded, and if they didn’t have these irrritations they would be perfect. Considering putting some moleskin over the seams to see if that makes the difference, but at Arche prices, this shouldn’t be a problem. Maybe with socks they would be okay, but I would be wanting to wear them with dresses and tights, and I think these seams would tear through tights in a matter of minutes.

The navy color grouping is nicer than the brown grouping.

My third pair of Arche Laius. This pair is my first in suede and it felt small and narrow even though it’s the same size as my others. Unlike the other pairs these needed a few days of wear to stretch and now they fit fine.

These boots are extremely comfortable, and stylish too! They manage to make my size 10 feet look good as well as feel good. I can wear them all day; with skirts or jeans. This is my second pair of Arche suede boots. I bought a pair 4 years ago, and after many weeks worn in rain and snow, they still look as good as the day I bought them. Arche quality is incredible.

Love these booties. 2nd pair. The nubuck color looks tan, but it’s actually taupe. I liked it and will keep them. These are amazing boots. Most comfortable shoe I ever owned. I have had my other pair For two years. I look forward to many more years of wear on them. Some folks have said the don’t hold up well. Not so In my experience.

I have just one pair of this brand, which is a pair of pumps. I usually don't purchase this expensive a shoe but the dressy pumps are really comfortable, so I thought I would splurge on something for every day. The toe part of this sandal would have cut into the inner place between my toes. Other than that, the leather was delightfully buttery and the sole a dream of comfort. I'm also not such a fan of criss-cross styles and this one is particularly clunky, in my opinion. So these weren't a keeper but I hope to find another pair of Arche worth the price soon.

I have been a loyal Arche customer since the 1990's and have more than 20 pairs. I have challenging feet and Arche has always met my needs with comfort, style and quality construction. Except for the Baryky boot--I found this boot to be very poor quality and I was disappointed by the indifference of Arche's customer service in addressing the problems. The leather on the pair that I purchased was so soft that it badly scuffed within days of light use. I brought them back to the Arche store; they wouldn't take a return but sent them to Arche for "servicing" -- they polished the boots and told me that I was too hard on them. Why would Arche select a leather for a casual boot that can not handle normal wear-and-tear? The leather continued to deteriorate and then the back zipper on one of the boots failed--it wouldn't stay up. I contacted Arche again and was told that they wouldn't repair the zipper but would send me a new zipper and I could have a cobbler repair. Arche never sent the zipper. Perhaps I got a "lemon" pair but I would never buy another pair of these based on the problems I experienced and Arche's lackluster customer service. At this price point they need to do better. I use my $395 Baryky boots to work in the garden.

Arche makes the coolest and most comfortable shoes and boots anywhere. They've gotten really expensive imported to the U.S., so it's almost worth flying to France to stock up on a few pairs.no kidding.

Greatest shoe around

The shoe is beautiful. Two toned as a previous reviewer described it. So great to find a shoe that goes with navy. More stylish than atypical arche shoe and more support.

Beautiful but not functional.

I absolutely love these shoes (Arche are usually the only brand, with the exception of Birkenstock, that make my feet happy) but they are too high for me. Regretfully I had to return them.

This shoe saved my life. It fits even though my feet cannot walk in heels anymore and it looks chic. Very comfy. I have five or six pair in this style alone. I can stand for a long time and walk withought stumbling! Love Arche

I have several pair of Arche shoes and love them. These did not disappoint! It is hard to see in the photo, but the outside of the shoe is navy, and the inside is a dark grey. They go with everything and are extremely comfortable. I wear a size 7/7.5 and the 38 fit well. The toe box is a little longer than my other Arche shoes.

I have a couple of pairs of these wonderful boots - black from this year, and electric blue from last year. They are my "go to" footwear when I am at my city office and need to walk and be comfortable. They are pretty true to size for Euro sizing (I am a US 9.5 and took a 40 in these) and average width. The suede is super soft, seams and construction great and the wedge comfy. This year I thought I would add the Lauze color to my collection (it's a medium grey) -- well, the suede is hard as a rock! It is stiff with no give at all. I have another style Arche boot in this exact same color from last season and had the exact same problem, so it seams like it's something in the dyeing process of this color. What a bummer! Stick with the black and your feet will be happy :)

I really love the Baryky. But, as other reviewers have noted, do not get the leather. It is like a THIN leather veneer and peels off very easily. It’s disconcerting after spending $400. My first pair was nubuck and I was thrilled with them until I spilled olive oil one night while making dinner and after my efforts to clean them failed I brought them to my local shoe repair shop and they cleaned them. They came back without the stain but also with a smooth finish like leather and not nubuck. That was okay but they were also stretched out after whatever they put them through. I got rid of them. But I liked the style so much that I bought a leather pair. In no time at all the leather peeled off. The store replaced them but the same thing happened to the replacement pair. I still wear them but they are really shabby....and not in a chic way. Last year I bought a pair of brown nubuck. I don’t wear them while I’m cooking. Just recently I bought the gray and love them. The style is so simple and elegant. The sole is rubber and soundless. I love that.

Beautiful shoes and I want so badly to make them work. I usually wear 7m which translates to 38 but shoes felt loose but the cut seemed a tad narrow. Also order the 37m which was definitely too small. I’m hoping I can use inserts to tighten these shoes up a bit if I can make the width work as well.
Zappos Reviewer on September 18, 2018
I ordered what I thought was Navy. It is a brighter blue--on the teal side of blue. Very pretty but not what I needed. I also have this shoe in another color--the fit was different for this one.
Zappos Reviewer on September 18, 2018
Very nice, comfortable, great leather but weird fit. The 7 was too big and the 6 too small. I need arch support in all my shoes and I just couldn't get the right combination of shoe and insert to work. Too bad.

This is a second pair I just received because they are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. I've walked all over Europe, twice in them. I logged over 30,000 steps some days and my feet never hurt. I get complimented on them all the time. I have high arches and a funny toe, so comfortable shoes are a must if I don't want to be miserable. My only fear was that Arche would stop making them, so I ordered another pair just in case. I never want to not have these sandals! They are expensive, for sure. But in my opinion, worth it.
