Amalfi by Rangoni

Amalfi by Rangoni Logo
Ugo Rangoni was a leather salesman in Florence, Italy. In 1937, he founded a company on a simple premise: shoes should be made using the best materials possible. And Ugo Rangoni knew how to find the best.

He also found a willing audience. The Rangoni recipe of "quality plus comfort" proved so popular that in the early 1940s the company created the Amalfi line for American buyers, becoming one of the first Italian designers to export to the United States. U.S. sales had surpassed one million pairs per year by 1973, the year Ugo Rangoni died – leaving the company to his son, 18-year-old Niccolo.

Niccolo Rangoni remembers those first years of responsibility in the family business as challenging ones. But it's the challenge today that keeps him passionate about building on his father's legacy.

"In the fashion business, every season you start from scratch," he says. "You are constantly creating a new product, a new look. Once you have that in the blood – it’s very difficult to give up." "We’re committed to using only the finest materials in our shoes’ construction: interesting textures, surprising prints, and leather from the finest tanneries in the world. The result is a shoe that's as easy on your feet as it is on the eyes. With each shoe in the Amalfi line, Rangoni seeks a perfect marriage of quality and comfort. That’s also why we continue to offer shoes in a full range of widths in an era when most manufacturers are scaling back. If the shoe fits, you’ll wear it. And Rangoni shoes are made to be worn."

"So how do we offer this level of quality at a cost that’s an average of $100 less than comparable brands? Low overhead. Factories we own – and staff – ourselves. And a location in Florence, Italy, that’s just miles from the finest leather tanneries in the world. You could call it the heart of fashion. For more than 70 years, we’ve called it home."

Cute shoes, but could not get my feet in them. I ordered a wide, but it felt like a narrow.

Beautiful shoe with a true fit, but returned 6 AA due to the narrow-shaped toe. Placing an order for the size to 6 1/2 AA and hopefully that will compensate for the pointiness of this shoe style.

I ordered a size 5 medium width. It was too large. Do not know if it was half or full size. The material was stiff and I knew it would create a blister near the toe area.

I am a 6AA and sometimes a 6 1/2AA. I ordered both sizes and kept the 6 1/2 in black. I tried to do the same with the Taupe but the 6 1/2 AA ran a bit fuller in the Taupe. The 6AA in Taupe was already gone when I tried to order it. The shoe is attractive, comfortable and is narrow in the heel so stays on my foot nicely. I hope Zappos continues to provide Amalfi's in 6 nd 6 1/2AA. They are well made shoes and use quality leather. Am very disappointed that other quality manufacturers have stopped making STYLISH shoes in this size.

Fabulous! Extremely beautiful, sparkling, very soft, comfortable, and elegant. Obviously, allover (insole, even outsole) genuine leather! Made in Italy. True to size and width (9.5 Wide). I have just ordered the second pair, to have a reserve!

This show is for people with a mildly narrow foot. It’s a pair that, if it fit, I would wear with pants, but not with a dress. The insole is slick, so my foot slides around a lot. You can see in the photo how much of the ankle strap hangs out.

Very comfortable shoe. However, I believe the pair I received had been worn. There was a problem with the strap on the left shoe. Did not match the strap on the right shoe. Shoes were way too expensive to accept. Too bad, very attractive, comfortable shoe.

These sandals are nicely made, but have these two issues: 1. I couldn't get my foot to fit in them in the front area which is too tight. The sandal fit my narrower feet (8N), but the toe area wasn't tall enough to fit my toes. I couldn't get my feet all the way in. I'm sure this could be adjusted with a shoe stretcher, but didn't want to try as there would be a lot to stretch. 2. The sandal is for cooler temperatures because with so much leather cover, I thought my feet would be very hot in them in the summer.

I really like the style and proportions of this shoe in black which looks fashion forward with the deep v top line and high. sides. I did not want a delicate slingback. I bought a half size larger than I wear in other brands. I also bought the wide width to get enough volume in the upper so it wouldn't pinch. Note though, that the footbed of the W size is not truly wide. Three items in the product description could be misleading for some potential buyers, First, the 'Cushioned Pillowfeel footbed with arch support' does not provide any real cushioned feel and although the shoe has a good supportive structure, there is no discernible arch support. Second, the outsole is leather, not rubber as the description indicates. As you can see in the product images, there is only a round rubber insert in the leather sole at the ball of the foot to reduce slipping. Third, the mention of textured leather and a shimmery silhouette does not apply to the black which is plain, smooth leather.

You know those shoes you are looking for? elegant, comfortable, well made (heel at the right angle, they do not open wide when you step)? you thought they do not exist, but they do. I am on my feet all day with no tolerance for pain, but also need a touch of elegance in my outfit. Zappos, please keep selling this brand.

These were the strangest fitting shoes ! Amalfi used to be my go to shoes as they were long and narrow just like my feet! I had trouble getting my foot in the shoe and had to adjust the straps but my foot didn;t seem to go all the way in. There was a large space in the front although my heel seemed to be in the right place but it gaped on the sides. Just an overall wierd fit for me, they didn't hurt or rub but it felt strange walking in them. Fortunatley I had a pair of Munros in the same order that I loved so these go back.

I am a narrow width and have worn Amalfi before. Unfortunately, the heel is not narrow enough causing my heel to slip out of the shoe. Additionally, the elastic across the top of these shoes, closer to the ankle area, was too loose and appears sloppy on me. It is a cute shoe, but not made as well as I had hoped. I will continue to try Amalfi. Hopefully other styles will work. Thank you, Zappos, for trying to add manufacturers who carry narrow widths in size 6. I wish there were more, and thank you for being so understanding and accommodating about shoe returns.

What is it about Italian designed and manufactured shoes? I love them and they fit my narrow feet so well. The only part of this shoe I wish was different is the white sole. They feel wonderful and look great - just a bit more casual than ideal. But they are keepers and at a great price for the brand.

Love these sandals. I wear a 9N and have a hard time finding stylish shoes that fit and are comfortable. This one wins on all accounts. I’m thinking about a second pair in the other color...but they are pricey. Will be anxious to learn how the white sole holds up After a few weeks.

I ordered a 1/2 size bigger than I normally wear since it is an open toe shoe. The fit, a 5 1/2 AA is perfect! Have a very narrow foot and it's almost impossible to find a stylish shoe in a 5 or 5 1/2 AA. The leather is like butter! Beautiful, stylish, comfortable shoe.
