I recently purchased these after trying to wear the Hunter original tall last season. I just didn't want the struggle again. The Hunters were just too wide/loose. I felt like I had wading boots on. To me you must wear a warm sock and or purchase the hunter wellie sock just to wear them. And, the wellie sock and sizing is another story in itself. Hunters aren't a "walking" boot. Hunter quality is excellent but they are a wide boot. Theses Uggs are a breath of fresh air. They are comfortable and warm. Great to run around in. I will say that I'm a "low volume" boot person. I have narrow feet and slim calves. Most boots are too big and clumsy for me. The Wilshire is narrower than many of the Uggs. I have other Uggs as some just run "narrower" than others, some you need to size up and some not, some you don't wear socks with etc. I'm pretty much an 8 and that's what I took in the Wilshire. And despite being embossed with "UGG" wording it is very subdued and I wish the little Ugg tag on the back heel would stand out more! I have these in the "short" style. They are great. Oh, also, I used to slip on metal side walk plates and grates with hunters. I do not with the Uggs as the traction is better. I live in Seattle rain is our winter. I use public transit to go to work and a good rain boot is a must. The Wilshire is great.
I'd also recommend: La Canadienne, Le Chameau,

Searching for a long time for a stylish rainboot and I could not be happier with these Uggs. They not only keep my feet dry but with lambs wool padding, (intrinsic to Uggs) they keep my feet warm and cozy. They are not bulky and clumsy like many other rainboots. They are slender and stylish as well as super functional. I actually look forward to rainy days so I could wear them!

These are worth the extra money. They are much more comfortable than typical rain boots because they have some arch support, not to mention the soft fur on the bottom. I wish the little Ugg logo wasn't all over them, but I can live with it.

Fit is great. Disappointed that fleece is only on soles of boot and not at least up to ankle. Top edges rubbed when I walk so I taped them (doesn't show under pants). But I have sensitive skin; maybe won't bother others.

I like these boots because they are made well and you don't have to worry about a leak. They also keep your feet warm as they have the shearling sole. However, what I don't like about them is that the shaft of the boot is pretty narrow. I would rather it be wider so that I could tuck my pants into the boot and not have to wear my pants over the boot. I would return them because of this had I not already wore the boots.
