Good-looking boot in wheat. Runs small. I returned the 8 because it was too snug and the black rubber heel piece that other reviewers have mentioned was definitely too hard and uncomfortable. I just put a heel pad in an 8.5 that runs across the back heel and it seems to have fixed the problem. I hope it stays in place! Plenty of room in the width for my wide feet. High quality construction.

These boots are gorgeous! I couldn't tell from the picture if the seams of the leather would look nice, but in person they look really polished. Love the color as well. The boots are wide enough in the calf so that it's pretty easy to pull them on over jeans, but tight enough so that they don't look slouchy. Some other reviewers commented on the quality of the leather. I think it's very good quality, actually, and stiff enough so that they stay up (once they're on, but I'd keep the cardboard in them when you're not wearing them so they don't crease). I usually wear a 6.5, but a 6 fit perfectly.

I thought this boot was cheaply put together for the price and didn't have the insulation that my Sorel boots have. I don't see how my foot would have not been cold in this boot, as the insulation was minimal and because the 'tongue' of the boot (under the laces) is not completely closed and you can have gaps across the front of your shin. When you unzip the boot, the leg shaft flops and you have to keep the tongue or flap (which ever you would like to call it) from folding over on itself, which is how you end up with the gaps of exposed leg with this boot. You can see that it is only being held in place by the laces. I suspect that you can loosen or tighten the laces. I didn't try to do this because I found the boot to be difficult to put on. Granted, I'm recovering from a broken foot, but the very bottom metal hooks that the laces are running through fold into the top of the boot when you are trying to put your foot into it and it was painful for my recovering injury. It is a pretty boot, but I wouldn't consider this a warm boot for weather below 20 degrees in the winter.

Adorable boots! I thought I\'d be wearing them folded down, but I actually like them better up and under jeans. Very comfortable and warm enough for cool fall weather, but I would not wear them in snowy winter weather.

I agree with Dan B in his review. I've had a pair of these for a few years and am still waiting for these to "break in". I can not wear these for 8 hours at a time as they scrape the top of my toes. The use of orthotics will help with arch support but that is an additional expense (I need arch support). My last Timberland purchase, years ago, was fine. But nowadays?

These boots are EXTREMELY comfortable! When I first got them I wore them around the house in case there might be rough spots that would hurt my feet or ankles but the WHOLE boot is very soft and pliable with no rough seams, etc. I would recommend the wide or sizing up 1/2 size if your foot is any bit above regular width as they are slightly narrow for an average foot. I got a 6 1/2 which I normally wear and I can\'t wear a thicker sock but they are still warm. I highly recommend them.

These shoes balance a delicate, light look with a more funky gladiator-type look, making them very versatile. They look good with skirts, shorts and jeans and I would say you could walk 3-4 miles in them. While I am not a big fan of the cork, it suits this shoe and keeps it light. The ring at the front of the shoe does start to chafe but only after several hours - a minor discomfort that does not impair the overall appeal of this shoe.

Very cute, but the heel is too hard. I already wore mine out, but would have preferred to return them after getting bad blisters on both of my heels. Doesn't seem like something you can break in either.

These shoes run 1 to 1.5 sizes too big. I had to return a pair after buying them only 1/2 a size smaller. I normally wear a 10.5, but 9.5 fits perfectly in these. Besides the size issue, these boots are very comfortable, great looking with jeans, and waterproof, which was the main reason I bought them.

Beautiful tan boot with very high quality leather. I took the to the cobbler to get the shaft stretched a bit because I have wide calves. They are now perfect.

Terrific boot. Absolutely impressed. This boot is a beautiful, classically designed piece of work, with modern features. Extremely comfortable, great tread, great stitching, well balanced, and not too heavy. You could certainly spend a lot more on a boot, but why? Timberland has a real winner with this boot. I wish I could go hiking every day, just so I could enjoy these boots.

I wear a size ten (rarely an eleven, would love more 10.5s in the world) with a narrow heel and a wide toe and the ten in these fits me comfortably in tights or thin socks. There's no width to spare but the length is just fine. I'm slightly underwhelmed by the style, the sporty-looking pale sole/ring around the top of the sole doesn't work for me in person, but the quality is solid and they're wonderfully easy to pull on and off for a tall, zipperless boot. So far I'm having a little bit of trouble with my heels. It's not terrible, I wore them all day with something over three miles of walking and no blistering, but there's some minor abrasion/irritation at the heel that makes me wish for a smoother, softer finish inside. I think the comfort (early days heel dubiousness notwithstanding), solid construction, and ease of wear will make these a dependable part of my wardrobe, but I wish I loved them more.

Zappos has done it again with their lightning fast shipping and amazing selection! I can certainly understand other reviewers saying that the medium width of these boots is way too narrow, but that\'s exactly what I love about them. My feet are super narrow and I almost always have to wear two pairs of socks, but not with these boots. I\'ve been wearing them the past two hours and they fit me like a glove. I also took a gamble and ordered the 7.5 size even though I usually take an 8. I wouldn\'t say there\'s any arch support, but I think they\'re still quite comfortable, and hope that I still feel that way as I continue to break them in. So far, my only complaint is that they put in the zippers on the sides since they\'re totally unnecessary, what with the laces and all. Still, a great brand, a very stylish boot, and so long as they fit me, well worth the cost.

Just got these this morning in black, and have been wearing them all day. I have larger athletic calfs and they fit perfectly - I can\'t remember the last time I\'ve worn a knee-high pull-on boot. I won\'t be able to wear jeans tucked into them as others have mentioned, but I don\'t really like that look anyway. The leather is rich, the tread doesn\'t slip, and there\'s room for warm socks and my orthotics. Perfect for wearing with a sweater dress and tights, or a tunic and leggings. I\'m very happy.

This is my first pair of Timberland boots, though I\'m a long time Timberland shoe aficionado. Like most other Timberland reviews their shoes do run a bit big, I\'d say a 1/2 size bigger, I\'m a size 9 and the 8 1/2 size was perfect. On the width of the shoes, I don\'t have the widest foot around, neither the narrowest, but I had to end up returning the regular for the EE/Wide size. The regular was way to snug for my comfort. The only thing that bugs me a bit is how the top of the boot around the ankles feels a little tight, but other than that, it\'s a great boot that I can walk around all day in, the sole in these shoes is seriously one of the most comfortable I\'ve worn, in any shoe. Overall a good buy, just remember to buy a 1/2 size smaller than you usually wear. And of course, I had a great experience buying from Zappos, they got me the shoes in no time and they were super helpful when I had to return the first pair of boots that didn\'t quite fit. Keep up the good work Zappos.

I chose these over three other similar boots, looking for pull-on, not zippered leather medium to tall boots. I love these for their comfort, quality, classic style, detailed styling, and versatility. I can walk around in these all day, shopping in city streets or walking the farm.

Boot runs a little on the large size, but that depends on how thick of a sock you want to wear since this is sort of a winter boot. Really high quality material and very good looking. Make sure you spend more than a few minutes wearing them, I find even now that at first they are inflexible and uncomfortable, but after 30 minutes on my feet they feel perfect. Maybe this is a quality of the leather?

Great boot but sized too large. Has a rubber sole and heel so easy on the feet for all day wear. I bought a similar pair in Scotland but it was a style not available in the US so I thought the sizing would be different. Returning to get a smaller size.

I saw these this summer & tried on a 7 in a regular width which fit perfectly, but was just a little too narrow in the arch. Then, I saw these on Zappos with the option of wide width. So I ordered a 7 in a wide. For some reason, they are just as narrow as the regular width. The only part of the shoe that is wider is at the toes?! It makes no sense to me.

Timberland Mount Holly Tall Boot - They are well made and good looking. But I purchased them due to the fact that most reviewers said it has great arch support. It doesn not. Besides, I have skinny heels and these boots are made for those with larger heels. The rubber support on the back of the heel, which some reviewers complained about didn\\\'t bother me a bit, didn\\\'t even feel it was there. My feet are wide in the front and there\\\'s plenty of room in the front. The dark brown burnished color is very rich. I\\\'m a size 7 but I think a half size up would fit me better.

Love the look and the color. Very Taos-chic looking. They look great with pants tucked in. I had to re-order a half size up from what I usually wear, especially as I want to wear them with socks. The heel rubbed a blister onto my foot the first time I wore them for a long walk - so they take some breaking in. The burnished wheat color is fabulous - deep, rich and looking like old saddle leather. I'm interested to find out if they are really waterproof as described.
