I bought the pants for my husband, and he loved them so much, we bought an another pair in a different color. He loves to wear cropped pants (or are they called long shorts?) in the summer instead of regular shorts, but they are very hard to find style for Men. Thank you Zappos for carrying them!

True fit. Very comfortable. Great for cool weather hikes or in town bike ride. My wife made fun of my "capris" but I don't care.

FAVORITE SHORTS EVER! They look a little odd, and the price isn't cheap, but I absolutely love them. I have trouble finding shorts that I feel comfortable in, but it works to just commit to the dude-pris or "shants". Works great if it's super hot or a little cool, and pairs very well with sneakers or sandals. I especially like them when I'm on the bike since they don't ride up, and they stay over my knee brace when I have to wear it. Everything Kuhl does is top notch, so the materials and feel are very high quality. Try them out! If they don't work, trade them for something else from Zappos! I know I'll steadily accumulate every color.

These shorts are freaking awesome. I live in the Pac-Northwest and shorts are not so much a huge part of the wardrobe. These things are more like Shants, and yes I said Shants. That is because if you are a north westerner like me on the few days when it gets warm enough to rock shorts it is more like, Hey I am just gonna roll my pants up to about mid calf. The Krux do that for you, and guess what, instead of looking like a castaway stranded on an island you actually look Kuhl!

These are the second pair I bought for my husband - they are the most comfortable, lightweight, durable, well made & fashionable shorts for Men (ages 40-50). My husband is taller (6'2") so we originally bought for our trip to Rome where we thought he had to have longer shorts for the Vatican but ended up being his all time favorite shorts. I was worried that they would look weird as you don't see many guys where "capri" type shorts...but actually they just look like hip, longer shorts with great use of of pockets in all the right places. He likes them because unlike cargo shorts where they tend to be heavier material and the pockets bulge out - these lie flat. You can dress them up with a nicer tee or just wear them to the beach with flip flops. We bought the second pair for our trip to Hong Kong. They are very forgiving if you have an extra few pounds on you, they'll still fit and won't feel like you're poured into them...I wish they made these for women.

Great shorts. If you're looking for long shorts, these fit the bill. They run a little small - I'm usually a 32 and had to return them for the 34s, which are perfect. They even look good on day 2.

I'm in love with these shorts. I was a little hesitant when I bought them because I do not like shorts. I'm a pants and jeans only guy because I hate the look and feel of anything that ends above or around the knee. I purchased these shorts in a size 34 and I couldn't be any happier. I'm 6'4 and these shorts drop down all the way to my upper shin, a bit below my knee. One thing I really love about them is that instead of them being flat, straight, and sticking out over your knee, these actually fit to your knee and curve with your leg, just the way pants would. I bought them in black, but I definitely am going to buy them in another color as well. If you're a pants/jeans only guy like me, you will love these shorts!

These sorts are comfortable and seem to wear well. Sizes are true. They are not cargo type shorts - so no big pockets, but they do have zipped security pockets on each leg. I love them, and have 3 pairs. I like the extra length, too!

Finally a euro styled short in the US! I can't handle those boxy shorts (really I'm not that short). I love the way they feel during hot summers in California (high 80's) and the brisk winter days (low 70's -high 60's) you can wear it with a tee for a day of hiking or a nice buttoned down short sleeve shirt and style it with a rockin' fedora for day parties.

Really nice fitting shorts. Longer than most. Comfortable for sure. Nice pockets where nothing falls out. I got these and ordered the Khaki the following day.
Zappos is the best as always.

Very nice shorts. One star off for sizing/color. I own several Kuhl pants/shorts. All size 32 - some feel like 32, some feel like 33. This one is way too small. Felt like 31. I ordered Gun Metal 32. To exchange it, there was no option to go up to 33 with Gun Metal. So I ordered a different color - Espresso - size 33. They fit nicely. The color was good. But it is no Espresso! It's much lighter. I actually like it but it doesn't fit the description. It's almost the same as the Gun Metal. Much lighter as the picture on the site.

I love these short. However, I normally wear either 32/33 waist and buy 33/34 for a lose fit. I had to get the size 36 because I kept popping the snap on the waist. Seemed to run a little small. Otherwise, great product thus the 4 stars.

I'm a big fan of Kuhl, and I was looking to replace a previous pair of Kuhl shorts with this longer style. Overall, they're great shorts, fit well etc. but I was a little bummed at the material. My previous pair of shorts (I forget the style) was a softer wicking fabric, and I unfortunately presumed the Krux would be the same given the type of clothes Kuhl makes. The fabric on these shorts are like thin canvas in their feel...they're more "rigid" feeling that I thought they would be, and don't drape much. I was expecting something else based on a presumption, so that's my bad. I'm getting used to them, although I'll probably take the length in about an inch...I'm 6' 1" and they feel a smidge too long. It's subjective of course. Overall, the quality is great - and I'll definitely keep buying Kuhl, I'll just pay attention to the fabric/feel on each of their styles.

I do like these shorts a lot. Good materials, light, quality constructions, etc. The main pockets are great, though there are a few silly and useless pockets that are basically hidden, but they don't interfere with anything. The snap closure is solid and the zipper is quality too. The only thing I don't like is the leg openings have a bit of a flare to them, which is useless, as far as I'm concerned, and a bit annoying. Other than that, they are great and I wear them daily. I do recommend them.

Pro: Great fit, sturdy but still light fabric, non-scrotal cargo pockets, well built. Con: That's not khaki, it's green.

These are great casual and lightweight shorts, but please note that they are very long, which is actually to my liking. I am 6'6 and they extend just below my knee. I originally purchased a pair from a local sporting goods store and fell in love with them, but they were out of stock when I returned to by another pair... but then I found them here at Zappos and bought a few. When they arrived I noticed the material felt a little different... as it turns out this is a newer model with 75%cotton and 25%nylon and my originals had 65%cotton and 35%nylon. No complaints really but I immediately noticed a difference in feel. The older pair felt a little more boardshort-ish or swimsuit-ish with the higher nylon content... I guess you could just say the old were were more nylon-ish or the new are more cottonish! The fit was also slightly looser in the newer version even after washing/drying and the cell phone pocket was also redesigned a little larger (likely to fit wider Smartphones.) I don't have a Smartphone so I was a little disappointed that my flip phone did not fit as securely in my new shorts as my older pair but I might be singing a different tune if I ever upgrade. These are also made with a so-called vintage dye that wears out quickly giving the shorts a well worn appearance over a shorter period of time. The newer shorts from Zappos have not worn as quickly as my first pair but I'm still knocking of one star for style for this. I understand there's a certain aesthetic with a favorite well worn pair of shorts/jeans/etc. but I personally find the use of quick fading dye simply for style to be rather unnecessary or excessive... similarly to designer jeans purposely manufactured with holes/tears/frays/etc. just for the looks. Sorry, but form follows functon and I like to wear down my own clothes, thanks. I could see if the dye thing was simply a biproduct of trying to use a more efficient or environmentally friendly dye process or something but that doesn't appear to be the case here... atleast not per the descriptions on the tags. I've also read some other reviews knocking the fly which has a secondary button and flap similar to slacks/suit pants/etc. but I've had no problem with it. I have several pants with the same thing and I'm used to it. As long as you don't mind the extra second it takes to fully button up it's no problem. All in all a great pair of shorts. I've been hiking, biking, loungin' and just plain livin' in these almost daily for well over a year now... although I can't really comment on their durability for hardcore climbing and other activities for which they appear to marketed; but 4 stars overall with deductions only for my little criticisms in style/fit above.

Well made garment, very good for a tall slim guy who wants longer shorts. Kind of pricey (reason for 4 stars) but this fit can be hard to find.

I don't particularly care the flare out to side at the leg hems. I thought they would diminish with time with a few washings, but to no avail.
