First I have to say that I was skeptical about buying shoes over the internet...my friend recommended that I at least give it a shot because I had been to all the Kenneth Cole stores in NYC looking for this shoe. I was surprised to find the shoe on the web site, in stock and on sale. The Gentle Souls shoes are rarely on sale at the stores from what I had been told by the salespeople. I ordered a size 7.5 which was surprisingly too small and had tried various other styles that were also too big in an 8. Goes to prove that the best way to find what fits is to try the shoe on. Zappos sent me a size 8 pretty much immediately and I am more than pleased with my shopping experience and shoes. Also note that these shoes do stretch so a snug fit is probably best, they are really soft and keep feeling that way throughout their life unlike other shoes where the cushion wears out rapidly.

Cute shoes, the footbed's pretty comfortable, but I'm sending it back due to the curled knot (which is kinda 3-dimensional) digging into the top of my foot (which is flat). If they had made the bottom half of the knot flat so it doesn't chafe my bones I would've kept it. I'll probably order something else from this brand; I like their comfort shoe concept. Great shipping service from Zappos.

I’m not one to write reviews, but I just had to take a moment to rave about these shoes! Very chic as well as comfy. I have a job that requires me to stand all day, and these shoes stood the test,when I am normally limited to flats.

Smiling feet - Bought these in winter. Padded around in the house with them and loved them. Now, as it is warm weather I love wearing them to work and walking around town. Very cozy and elegant. They support well. Just a wee bit tight in the toe box but, overall one of my favorite pairs of shoes ever. They even smell nice (because of the deerskin).

I am thrilled with my Gabby shoes from Gentle Souls! They are super comfortable and I get compliments all the time when I wear them. Not only are they stylish looking, but I can stand all day with my sales job and my feet still feel great at the end of the day. I highly recommend these shoes!

Just got them. I wore them once so far and got lots of compliments. I found them extremely cushiony and comfortable. I am in the process of replacing the plastic heels for rubber ones which are easier on the pavement and less slippery than plastic. These sandals are quite pricey and I am hoping they will hold up in all ways as they get more wear.

Beautiful shoe. Wish they fit - I love this sandal. Unfortunately, they do not fit me. They are too big around the heel area and cause too much slippage for me to keep. If they did fit, I would definitely not be sending them back. They are soft leather, a "gladiator" sandal without being too over the top, and just a very well made shoe. Going a size down was not an option since I'm in the size 6 and width would not have worked. Darn.

These are one of the most... wait, scratch that. These are THE most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned. At first glance, yeah, it’s a ballet flat. Second glance - oof, kind of spendy. Third look and you see the details that take it up a few notches in style. (The black elastic contrasts subtly with the high-polished leather. The ever-so-slight wedge heel adds the perfect little lift.) Put them on and you’ll be sold. I have several pairs of Gentle Souls and they have all held up tremendously. I’m a heavy walker -- to and from work - and often wear these as my default weekend shoe. This particular style still looks brand new - and I’ve owned and worn them constantly for nearly five months.

Sorry to say these are surprisingly uncomfortable. Very tight around the foot. Nice looking, but Gentle Souls are supposed to be...gentle. And since they're not leather, just fabric, are overpriced, even on sale. I'll be sending back.

These are very comfortable. The size is accurate. Unfortunately, the boot leg droops/doesn't stay up (because it's mostly fabric?), and creates an unattractive bulge near the calf. I was hoping these would be as great as the leather boots they used to make (pre Kenneth Cole). Those only went half up the calf, which was too bad, but was otherwise stunning and comfortable, and had better soles. I hope they bring back an all leather, leather lined, with a heel (not wedge), boot that covers the calf.

This is a great looking shoe. I have a small bunion which does not bother me except for how it looks, and the design of the shoe hides it well. Although this shoe is very comfortable, I ordered another Gentle Souls style at the same time which I returned because of the style, even though it had a thicker padded and much more comfortable sole. The padding on this one is not as cushy, and there is not much arch support. Nevertheless, considering everything, I would highly recommend the shoe.

Ankle strap a problem - I loved the look and comfort of these shoes until I started walking. The elastic strap around the ankle does not hold your foot securely in the shoe so my foot "flapped" with each step. Too bad because they are very classy looking.

Classically made shoe just doesn’t hold up to WEAR - I THOUGHT THESE SHOES WERE BEAUTIFUL AND WOULD BE COMFORTABLE BY THE LOOKS OF THEM. I think I wore them 3 times and the areas between each hole began to split from one hole to the next. Pretty sure it was the type of material used. I was very disappointed since this was not a cheap shoe.

I can walk for miles... I walk home from work about four miles every day because the gym is boring and I refuse to wear barely comfortable shoes all day and lug around sneakers for the walk home! I can wear these all day at work and all the way home on rough sidewalks and experience no discomfort! I even keep them on on the hardwood in the apartment while I make dinner! The slight heel is so great instead of the completely flat style that hurts my high arch. The rubber soles make me feel stable in the rain, too. I get compliments on them everywhere I go; the brown and gold combo goes with everything. I must say that it took two days to stretch the leather just enough to be perfect, that's why I gave them a 4 out of 5 for comfort. I'm used to Danskos that I can wear right out of the box with no break-in period, but my first chance with more feminine style shoes has been perfect with Gentle Souls! I'm thinking of getting a pair for my mom, sister, and close girl friend! ENJOY!

I've been a Gentle Souls fan for a long, long time. I was skeptical when Kenneth Cole bought the company and thought quality and design suffered for a while but they seem to be back on track. I really like this shoe. It runs true to size. I'm an 8.5 B+ and the 8.5 fit well. It will take a little breaking in across the ball of the foot but otherwise great. I often have to size up to a 9 but the 9 was definitely too big. Love the arch support, which feels great. The gold color is somewhere between gold and silver and goes with everything. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the color of the lacing, which is a strange tan. It's a minor detail but that's why I gave it 4 not a 5.

I purchased these shoes in black patent and I love them! These shoes are super cute and are probably the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. I bought them for a trip to San Francisco because I needed a comfortable pair of shoes for walking miles up and down hills (and for riding the trolleys)--and these did the trick. I didn't even wear them in ahead of time! I normally wear an 8.5, but the 8 fits me better than the 8.5. However, the elastic strap holds the shoe onto your foot really well, so I could have made do with the 8.5.

I have a wide food and high instep which makes shoe-finding difficult. These were so comfortable right out of the box! They look very cute and stylish. The silver is somewhat muted - just adds a little zest. And they are a dream to walk in. They made a little squishy noise when I walked at first but I don't notice it anymore.

Love 'em. They do run a little large, which may have caused the slipping that a previous reviewer noted, but I chose to get my actual size and will insert a pad if necessary. Although it hasn't been -- I got these shoes for a business trip when I knew I'd be on my feet a lot, and they were great - long walks on concrete? No problem. Standing? No problem. Of course, they are still 3 inch heels, but I can't imagine more comfortable ones. And the style is great.

Really nice looking shoe as well as supple and soft inside. However, they seem to run small, maybe it's just me, not sure. I usually wear 7.5 or 8, but 7 fit the best. Perhaps it’s the elastic on the sling that make them feel loose on the heel. Still not sure if I'll keep them.

Tight ankle strap - It broke my heart to return these beautiful well made shoes, but the elastic ankle strap was too tight and cut into the top of my foot. I hope Gentle Souls will make the same sandal with a conventional ankle strap.
