Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

Bought these shoes as a Christmas present for myself. They are absolutely adorable. They are a little higher than I expected, although it doesn't actually feel so high because of the platform. They are easy to walk in, but boy are they loud and pretty conspicuous on hard floors! I really wish there was some kind of rubber grip on the heel, which is a smooth wood/plastic material. There is a rubber bottom on the sole, but there is nothing on the heel, which is the source of the loudness, and also has caused me to slip a couple times. My other complaint is that these clogs slip off when you wear socks and its impossible to walk. To solve this, I just cut pieces of that rubbery, grippy cabinet liner material to fit inside the shoes (you don't have to tape them in or anything). It really worked for me, and now I can wear these clogs in the winter! Despite a few holdups, I'd say they are a great, casual pair of heels. I can wear them to school and out grocery shopping!

Breathtakingly gorgeous clogs. Streamlined and much more elegant than any other clogs I've ever owned. Plus, they're insanely comfortable. I love the height and the thick, soft, sumptuous leather. I am going to feel like a rockstar in them! These will complement many outfits, you just have to think bohemian or '70s rock chick as you are putting the outfit together. They are on sale now, and a great buy - I bought two pairs - and I hope it's not because they're being discontinued. I hope to come back in a few years for a couple of more pairs.

So gorgeous! The leather is thick and luxuriously soft. Quality construction reminds me why I love the Frye company so much. I was worried they would be too high to be comfortable for walking, but that's not the case at all. They are really a dream to slip on and wear all day. The toe of the Audra Heel is elegantly tapered and nothing like the deeply rounded toe of a traditional, Danish style clog. This and the beautifully constructed heel, make the shoe very elegant. I love them so much that I ordered a second pair! Don't hesitate, get them before they're gone!

WOW. Always been a fan of Frye, but these are the absolute BEST. Extremely comfortable right out of the box. Perfect with jeans. I walked many miles the first day I wore them and they are my go to boots now when I don't want an "over the jeans" look.

These are just perfect. The soft leather forms a padded cuff at the top edge and they just feel great every time I slip my bare feet into them. Soft and cushiony. This is an all around beautiful shoe and a real boho classic. I love them so much.
