I almost did not order these based on the previous reviews that both noted the boot slouched at the ankle and rubbed uncomfortably. I'm so glad I tried them anyway, because I did not experience that issue at all. I bought these to wear on a trip to Paris where I would be walking a lot in very cold and messy (as in snow) conditions. I wanted footwear that would keep my feet and ankles warm and dry, that would be comfortable enough for lots of fast walking, and would look good (hey, it's Paris!). This boot performed perfectly. I have a narrow foot, so I did use an insole, as well as smartwool socks, and the fit was fine. My true size is 7.5 N, and in these I wore a 38. After days of fast walking in snowy and at times icy conditions, as well as rushing up and down stairs many times a day to catch the Metro lines, my feet felt fine -- no soreness, no ankle rubbing. I'm very happy with this purchase!

I really love the look of this boot but after trying them on, I found they slouched a little at the ankle an where it indented in, it rubbed my ankle and lower leg a bit. Just not comfortable for me but I thought they were a very nice looking boot. Wish they had worked out but I have to ship them back. Bummer. Thanks Zappos though. You guys rock!

This is a good looking boot, but it slouched at the ankles and the "wrinkles" rubbed uncomfortably -- just like the previous reviewer said. (I should have listened up.)
