I'm a shoe guy. I probably have over thirty pairs (I know...I have a problem). Point is, that of all those shoes, most of which I love, these guys are my favorite. I don't wear sneakers in public, but these are the go-to shoes for jeans. They're perfect with denim. They're also extremely comfortable and hold up well. I've had mine now for three years and except for some very minor wear and tear, they look nearly brand new. These are not dressy. They're very utilitarian, and I'd feel silly wearing them with nice clothes, but they are absolutely perfect for work or dressing down. I love them so much that even being on this page writing this review, even though the ones I have are nearly mint, I'm very tempted to pick up another pair just in case they decide to discontinue them someday. I have two pairs, the black, and the Gaucho. I love them both but I rarely wear the Gaucho; it's an attractive shoe but the leather is sort of an oiled leather (it reminds me of oilcloth, if you know what that is), which I like, but doesn't seem to hold up to rough wear as well as the black does. Any scuff on the Gaucho is immediately noticed. Sure, you can rub the nap of the leather back down and easily solve most cosmetic problems, but with the black that's unnecessary - they can take a lot more abuse and come up smiling.

My 14 year old son loves these shoes which I bought without him seeing them when I couldn't find his usual dusty bucks for Spring and Summer dress shoes. He says they're really comfortable. I was a bit worried about the yellow stitching, but he really likes the style.

These shoes are go-to for jeans or dresses. They dress-up nice. They will be stiff for the first handful of wears, but break-in nicely. They're heavy and sturdy Dr. Martens that will last.

Love the look of this shoe but ordered my size 9 and the shoe is much too wide and slips when walking. iWsh it came in narrow as I'd try that.

I bought these for my husband who works in IT for a hospital company. He is on his feet, walking all over most of the day. Since the first day he wore these on the job, he says they have been VERY comfortable and didn't require any break-in period. He says that his feet and legs and back feel much better since wearing these.

These shoes are great with or without socks. Moderate arch support concerned me as I usually need high support but these shoes are great! The rubber soles are truly shock-absorbing.

I was looking for a pair of flats to wear to work that would be sturdy enough to wear on my motor scooter commute. I had a pair about ten years ago that I bought in a thrift store and loved to death so I had high hopes. 1) They were shipped to my office- I was so excited when they arrived that I put them right on to wear home. The problem was, I didn't have socks high enough to cover my ankle. I got halfway to the parking garage and blood was running down the backs of both of my feet. By the time I got home, the blisters were quarter sized. Now that they're broken in, this wouldn't be a problem- but it was the most brutal new shoe experience I've ever had. The leather backing was like razor blades! 2) I expected these to lack arch support so I bought inserts. The problem is, the inserts make the shoes too small! Without inserts, the lack of arch support makes my feet ache. I mean seriously ache. I don't think my feet were so flat ten years ago but I can't handle it now! 3) They're great for riding a scooter! Not exactly motorcycle boots, but the big plastic sole is great for skidding along the street at stoplights and with the buckled strap, I'm never worried that my shoe will fly off in traffic.

Love this shoe! Great fit, comfort, and quality, which I expect from Docs. I liked so much, I bought the black version as well. Highly recommend.

Fantastic shoe. I love Doc Martins, but my foot has changed and the 7 is a little too big, the 6 a little too small. I wish they made 1/2 sizes.
