What an amazing shoe! Bought it 2 weeks prior to my Hawaii vacation with the intent of using it for both hiking and beach-going. I could not have chosen a better shoe!!! I spent a few days walking around in them prior to our departure and was blown away by how wonderfully comfortable they are. No rubbing anywhere, not on the ankle, toes, nowhere. Just cloud-like comfort. We hiked for hours on lava rocks, wet stones and mud, sand, and outright dirt and these are the best hiking shoes I have ever owned. Comfortable, great traction on all of the different terrain, and so very easy to clean. I will never go back to another brand!

Loved the fit and feel of these shoes right out of the box. Lightweight but with great cushioned support. The only reason I am exchanging them is because I decided not to be so conservative with the black and instead go for the purple.

I loved this right out of the box, felt good! For me, however, I need a little more support, but these are great for short walks, etc. Love them! I am a 75 year old weighing 110 lbs. and 5'2".

I order black in these and they are a half size to small, exactly the same size as the 10.5 that my mom has. Wish they came larger, being sent back.

Amazingly comfortable - good arch support, comfortable toe, and doesn't rub the heel. I have trouble finding ballet flats that work with my feet, so these were a wonderful surprise.

Basically I love this shoe because it looks great and is so comfortable. This shoe looks great with everything. I love the detail in the back of the wedge heel. They are so comfortable, I could walk around all day in them.

They smell! I think the materials on the sole cause some sort of friction when walking. I don't usually have stinky feet but with these I do, it's a little embarrassing. I love the style and comfort through, they fit great, I think im just gonna keep cleaning the soles and maybe get some sort of odor powder to put in them. Sad they're so much work to where.

Nice shoe, and I'd love to like it - but like many hiking shoes - the woman's 11 is not a true 11 and it seems is really just there for women who are a size 10 to be able to feel good about giving themselves a little extra room in the toe box. Disappointing for someone with size 11 feet.

It was a challenge to finally get these shoes in the right size, but I'm glad I persisted. Very comfortable on my daily 4-mile trek. It's easy terrain, though, so I can't say how well they'd perform on a serious hike. For my purposes, they're perfect. I have other Ahnu shoes in 7.5, but my usual size is 8 (8.5 in athletic shoes). I spoke with someone at Ahnu, who has the shoes, and she told me to order my usual size. The 8's were too short. Ahnu was out of the 8.5 in the grey color, so I went to Zappos for that lightning-fast shipping. Sadly, even the 8.5 pair was too small. Reordered in 9...finally! The arch is right where it should be and my toes aren't squished. And they're super-cute!

This is my first pair of Ahnu shoes, and so far I am very impressed. They have a removable insole, and my orthotics fit inside perfectly. I also like the way the soles grip the floor. I would recommend these shoes to anyone.

I get a lot of mileage out of my shoes so I need something cute, supportive, and comfortable. This shoe is perfect for my needs. Love the slight wedge too.

I bought these back in April just before I was going in for surgery on my hip. I wanted something decent looking but with good support to wear around the office afterwards instead of tennis shoes. I LOVE THESE. They are the perfect casual shoe that you can wear with almost anything and get away with it. I originally bought the grey ones and just ordered the black ones, 4 months later. I think these will be great travel shoes. I've worn them several times for all day affairs like the 4th of July and another party I recently had. Looks great with jeans, skirts and pants. I found the fit to be perfect honestly and ordered my exact size with no problems. My feet sweat a lot and they're pretty good breathability wise but I wish they were a little more breathable. That's my only criticism. They've held up really well over the last 4 months too and I've worn them a LOT.

I must have fat feet because when I first put these on my feet were too high to even properly fit in them. They seemed very snug for a 9.5. The fit just seemed all wrong, so I am not going to try to order a size up - 10. They are very nice looking, and the materials seem to be good quality.

Buy your usual US size. I bought these in women US Size 7.5 medium which is labeled as 38.5 in the shoe. I usually wear a 38 Euro, size 7.5 medium, so I guess the 'size up' depends on whether you are ordering in Euro or US sizing. The 7.5 medium was perfect in length. I find them just the slightest bit tight across the widest part of my foot, but the toe area itself is roomy without being too boxy looking. I may have a slightly wide forefoot, or the shoe may run slightly narrow. They look nice on: better for city trekking than many hiking shoes, but with enough technical specs to work on trails/country. I wear them with Smartwool hiking socks or the Wrightsock lightweight Double Layer CoolMesh (best hiking sock ever!) The shoes have a very breathable waterproof membrane that keeps your feel cool and dry. Some waterproof hikers came get hot because of the type of membrane they're using. There is a slight heel slip but I re-laced the upper laces as suggested in another post and that seems to work. I'm afraid to go up a 1/2 size as that will lengthen the shoe and take it up a lot more in Euro size, which will increase the heel slip. I put Super Feet insoles in all my hiking/walking shoes and probably will in these, too.

I have horrible feet that require extra support and cushioning so I can't wear Vans or Converse, although I really like the style. These met in the middle and have style and support, so I'm keeping them! The only thing I have noticed about Ahnu shoes is that they run narrower midfoot than the sandals. I hope they will fix this so I can wear their hiking boots. I'm living with my mid-foot hanging slightly over on these shoes, because I know there won't be any heavy duty walking in them and it will be okay.

Hands down - these are the most comfortable pair of walking shoes I've ever owned. I'm 56 years old and had back surgery several years ago, so I have to walk a mile a day rain or shine for exercise. I'm on my third pair. They rock.

I usually wear 7.5/38 but these feel like 8 or 8.5 and the straps are very loose. So while the shoes are cute and comfy I might have to try 1/2 or a full size smaller.

These are great. Not too big and clunky like other similar types of Mary Janes. Sturdy bottom with decent support and an option to remove the footbed and put in your own (good for folks who use orthotics). Really cute color/pattern, too!

I really wanted to love these, but have to return them for fit. I bought them for all day walking while on vacation. For a comfort flat, they look really cute with casual summer skirts and dresses. They and feel ok if a touch short when standing still or slowly strolling, but as soon as I start walking at stride from one end of my hall to the other they start "foot farting" as my child calls it. I ordered an 8W (my usual size) and they are a little shorter feeling in the toe box, but too wide across the top from the mid foot to the ankle and as the shoe bends an air gap forms with each step. I've got a wide foot and medium arch, but not a heavy foot on top or at the ankle. Lately I've found a lot of comfort shoes, particularly with wider toe widths, are getting bigger all over. I'm sure this works great for some, but not for me. I thought about getting an 8.5 for length, but then the looseness would likely be worse.

I am trying these because I want a truly waterproof hiking shoe, not a boot. This is my first time with Ahnu. My previous Merrills were a bit clunkier, but great for hiking, however the waterproof quality died after 6 months. A friend told me Ahnu was better, so here goes. I ordered a half size up to get the right fit with thick socks. The fit is looser in the heel than I am used to, but I seem to be able to tighten the laces to help with that, although the laces sometimes seem to slowly loosen up as I walk. The shoes are more low-cut than I am used to also, so if you want higher around the ankle you might try the higher shoes to start with. Overall very comfortable out of the box. I am very happy with the quality and the leather-type construction and if they stay waterproof for more than 6 months I will have found the perfect shoe.

I love this sandal. My feet are difficult to fit, and this sandal is so comfortable for me. Just enough arch support to take it off the flat. It is the perfect summer sandal.
