I really wanted to love these shoes. I have been searching the earth for a pair of stylish and comfortable mules to wear with jeans and skirts. When I saw these, I thought my dream shoes had been created. A company I liked a lot, Vionic, and an iconic shoe style, the mule, had been born. So, here's where the love went wrong. The shoes arrived. I ripped open the box, to find an enormous set of tassels staring at me. Really enormous, eye-catching, patent leather tassels became the focus of my attention. It will be the focus of your attention, too. So, because I value comfort over anything, and, I am tired of ordering expensive shoes that are lovely but feel like I am wearing soul-less, painful blocks of wood, I am going to keep these for a short while, and see if I can find something to put in place of the TASSELS. Like a big puffy thing. Or, maybe I can wear them ironically. So, with all that, the shoes are comfy. The tassels are big and unsightly. I purchased the US 5, I wear a 5.5, and they fit my skinny little feet perfectly. There is some arch support, but not like some of my other Vionics. I would say these are short on the arch support.
for some reason the black were smaller than the natural....
Wow! Light shoe but incredible support! I wish I had purchased them earlier!
It's never happened to me that a shoe has been half a size large for me, but these are. Regardless, I'm keeping them because I think half a size down might be a bit too tight, plus these are really comfortable and cute.
How cute are these tennies?? I bought this shoe for a European vacation where I anticipated much walking. While they are great looking and pretty comfortable, the construction quality is bad - as it the zipper design. I was really looking forward to the zipping aspect, but it turned out to be a bad design. Having the zipper on the outside of the foot makes it super awkward to reach. I'm young and relatively flexible, but I needed my husband'ss help to get them zipped on most days. At least I did if I wanted a snug fit for a long day. The zipper should be on the inside or rear. Strike 1. Then the metal lace grommets came completely loose in two places. Mind you, I'd had them for less than a week. I like shoes with a lot of arch support so I was worried about the flat bottoms. That turned out not to be something I should have worried about. Theses shoes don't have a ton of bottom cushioning but they are well supported at the arch. I've owned several pairs of Vionic shoes over the years. Generally I like them. Though I find their sizing to be inconsistent. These were true to size and width. I was very excited by these, but in the end they disappointed. I wish I'd have chosen something different.
This shoe was the most comfortable shoe I have had on lately.. Just too bad it doesn't come in a wide width. I have Morton Toe syndrome and need just a wider toe bed. The next size up was too big. I was very sad to return these.
I have the Kia in gray and love them so much I have worn them out. So comfortable and semi-attractive. The gray pair looks so bad after constant wear that I ordered a new pair in black. Same comfort but look like corrective orthopedic shoes instead of fun sneakers. Why would Vionic put a black trim on a black sneaker? Are they trying to make them look like a dress shoe with a comfort footbed? Whatever, these are going back. I wear Vionic because, if I choose carefully, I can find cute, stylish shoes that are ultra comfortable. These are very comfortable but very ugly in black/black.
I have to agree with previous reviews: these things are gunboats!! Huge, bulky ---- but comfortable. I have a pair of the Midi perforated and have worn them out. I usually wear a 7 but wear a 6-1/2 in the Midi perforated. I ordered a 7 so I could wear socks in the winter. Huge! Reordered the 6-1/2. Still huge, even with socks. I may try the 6 but pretty sure they will be too short. Getting tired of Vionic's inconsistent sizing.
These shoes are adorable. Fashionable and comfortable - a hard to find combination. And for once, these Vionics seem to be true to size. I bought in my usual size and they fit. I have a narrow heel so nothing ever fits perfectly but this is about as good as it gets. I will just wear for special occasions so not looking for something as comfortable as a sneaker. It just has to be comfortable enough to make it through an event ---- and look fabulous. These kitten heels deliver.
Love these shoes but Vionic simply cannot standardize their sizing. I have the Caballo in snake print. I ordered in my usual size 7. Waaayyy too big. Ended up in a size 6 for the snake print. When I ordered the black suede this fall I, of course, ordered the size 6. Wrong. Too small. I ended up with the 6-1/2. The snake skin 6 still fit fine. As do the 6-1/2 black suede. Vionic has a great product. It is almost the only shoe I wear and I have many pairs. But the consistent "guess your size" is starting to wear on me. This style is extremely cute and as comfortable as you will get with a flat. So happy to have shoes that don't look like old lady orthopedic shoes.
