Brooks Cascadias are the only running shoes I buy. I get the GTX for winter and the regular version for the other seasons. Although there’s nothing wrong with running in them in warmer weather, but I’m less concerned with water getting inside when it’s warm. I wear light (mostly wool) socks with the GTX shoes and I’m never cold. They are good for 300 miles and then I replace. Love Brooks, love the Cascadias!

Female who wears normal width shoes but wears wide running shoes for orthotics and room for metatarsal pad. The women’s GTX version doesn’t come in a wide width and it was tighter than normal. These fit perfectly. The color isn’t my favorite but in happy to have found a Gore Tex trail shoe that works for me!

I am always on the lookout (without regular success) for reliably waterproof, comfortable and light shoes to handle 2-3 mile daily dog walks the rainy Pacific Northwest. So far so good after a week of these! If they last reasonably, I will reorder in about 6 months.

Comfortable and sturdy. I use these for trail hiking and the soles have a good grip, they don’t slip. The Gortex keep my feet dry on wet days.

Cascadia GTX & Cascadia are my favorite trail running shoes. I love this shoe. It is comfortable and I feel favors stability over cushion. The lug soles have strong grip and the shoe is very durable. The GTX model fits 1/2 size smaller than the regular Cascadia I believe this is common when Gore is utilized in shoes. The GTX is a great feature keeping feet dry during morning runs w/ wet Morning Dew "Walk me out in the morning dew my honey" -JGB

Great for muddy runs and dog walks around my walnut orchard. Stable and most importantly keeps my feet dry as I do laps. Also just a good shoe for the muck when I don't feel like putting on my boots

These were great shoes while they lasted. Unfortunately, the heel padding worn out in less than 3 months causing blisters. These shoes have GREAT potential if made more durable. I hope Brooks take this into consideration for the next iteration!

I much prefer the fit of the Cascadia 17. For some reason the 18 felt looser on my feet. I like having the laces coming through the tongue to keep it from shifting on the 17. Great traction on the sole, very sturdy for rocky trails The GTX model tends to trap moisture

I use these for leisurely hikes in the New Mexico or Colorado mountains. Also I live in a wet town and these shoes are perfect and a great grip for either type of wetness.

I also have a pair of Ghost Max. I like the thicker sole of the Ghost Max. Also I selected the least garish color scheme. It would be good if you had at least one color option that has a more classic look and also still looks good with some dirt on it (ie not white)

Unfortunately I had to return these. I was happy with the grip and waterproof technology. I found the grip in crunchy snow to be superb and the ride very stable, however the shoes were too stiff and uncomfortable under my heel. I had a sore heel on my right foot each time I tried them (even for dog walks around the neighborhood). I love Brooks and have been really struggling to find a Goretex trail shoe that meets my current needs, as a pair of a competing brand just did not hold up over time (inner liner, mainly). Ive had good experiences with the Brooks Cascadia line in the past (OMG the 7 series was my favorite shoe for so long!). But these just felt so stiff and like theyd never break in to me. I know the Goretex liners can cause this perception and I was prepared for that, however I have had a few pairs of Ghost GTX (9? 11 or 12?) that were just awesome shoes and the GTX effect only enhanced the comfort on those. In summary, I honestly hated to send these back as I had high hopes based on some of the other reviews, but Im back to the drawing board and BTW, I DO stand by Brooks shoes overall (I have WAY too many pair of Brooks in rotation to even mention). Im a huge fan of the Ghost Max series and on my 4th pair of Glycerin 20s.

A little hard to put on with high arches with heavy socks for winter running, fit OK otherwise. I have purchased many size 10 Brooks shoes over the years with consistent fit. These were purchased specifically for snow, wet conditions, and gravel running and were excellent after our recent blizzard and subzero temperatures.

True to size. Stiff and take a while to break in. I teach PE and used them in wet fields. Also, I play disc golf with them. I wouldnt say they ever get super comfortable, however, they worked well for a while. The gtx waterproofing only lasted for about 6-8 weeks.

I found the Brooks Cascadia 18 GTX to be very disappointing. I have been buying Brooks for over 20 years, and these shoes were the first ones that failed to meet just my basic expectations. Though advertised as having Goretex, these shoes leaked in water right from the beginning. Also, the fit was not what I'm used to from Brooks. Brooks shoes are usually a great fit. Not so the Cascadia 18 GTX.

These kept me sure footed and dry on light wooded trail runs that had mud, ice, and snow. I wear these outside of running in winter because they're waterproof, attractive and really good on snow and ice.

My go-to shoe this fall and early winter. Yes, it is waterproof! It's been great on the Colorado single track in the mud and snow. Great grip in the slippy stuff and easy to scuff the mud off. The sole is stiffer than my Catamounts, so I found a slightly thicker sock works to break-in. Dry feet keep the cold out!
