I'm a nurse. I am also cheap. I always went with on sale Sketchers and Asics, which I always thought are great shoes. I won't say they are bad shoes, but I ponied up and paid a little more for a pair of brooks. I chose brooks over Hoka because the extra wide were available because I have wide duck feet. This pair of Brooks really is amazing. It's almost weird how soft and comfortable they are. Going down stairs especially, the cushion is far better than any pair of shoes I've worn. If you're on your feet a lot, these shoes are great!

Wonderful walking shoe thus far (built well - super-comfortable - look great). Only minor drawback is they're a bit narrow and short (I ordered the size-11-extra-wide and it's still just a touch narrow for me). I have a pair of Hoka's in the size-11-extra-wide and they fit me perfect.

I really wanted to keep these shoes, but when I tried them on my weird middle toe (the longest), which leans to the left, bumps into the left side of the toe box where it narrows. Other reviews mentioned that these shoes are a bit short, and that's how they feel to me, but it could be my slanted toe. The Brooks website recommends the Addiction shoe for me, so I'll return these and try those.

I started a new job walking 10k steps a day and needed new shoes asap. After a small break-in period, they are super comfortable and very durable. I'm walking on mostly concrete outside, but no issues walking on other surfaces. Would highly recommend these for walking, haven't run much though.

For both Morton's neuroma and plantar fasciitis this Ghost Max 2 has helped so much! Please don't change this shoe or discontinue like so many others. Thank you!

These are near perfect right out of the box. Very little break in needed. They are very cushioning and absorb impacts of running well. I am on my second pair and will be getting a 3rd as long as they keep this model and or build. My only ONLY complaint about the design of the shoe is I wish there was a version of this shoe that had trail running bottom layer for the traction when running off road. That would give this platform a more rounded area to use them. I runn just to the side of the road and if the grass is wet it can get slippery. My grip about them is the color palette seems poorly done. But I am very glad they come in all black as those I can wear at work. I would just like some plain colors for my running, Im not a flashy guy.

very comfortable to wear around and stand for jobs that require longs hours on your foot, for running i noticed my pace was slower and it was harder to pick it up.

Good News/Bad News The Ghost Max 2 is an amazing shoe and the weight is feather like and the comfort is exceptional. So what's the downside? If you need a wide shoe size then you are restricted to White only. Some seriously nice color options exist like London Fog or Baltic Blue however not in a wide size. My podiatrist recommended these and that endorsement is shared by me. Just vanilla seems a bit sour.

Very comfort for long running as well as more roomy to breath during the long run! It also absorbs the shock very well!

Absolutely the only shoe that fits me and my injured feet. Please make more extra wide widths. They are always all sold out and expand the colors For us extra wide feet people. We want more than just black shoes.

I was seeking a firmer forefoot midsole than my Glycerin 21s which became very soft in a year. I trail run in Caldera 6 and 8 and wanted the Ghost Max 2 is for occasion road run and walking/recovery. I noted looking at the stats that the new Ghost Max 2 has a drop of 6mm which was the same as my Caldera and one of the only Brooks with a matching drop. The Glycerin 21s have a 10mm drop and was very noticeable on downhills. I'm 68 yo with sesamoid, metatarsal and arthritis issues and so the 6mm drop and the increased stack of the Ghost Max 2 looked perfect. I've worn the Ghost Max 2s every other day for a week or so and the foam used is excellent. Being firmer than the Glycerin means I'm not feeling every crack in the pavement or sidewalk and offers more stability. The sole is not flared out compared to the Glycerin or Caldera but it's stable and so far, works well.

I ordered a 10.5 2E shoe that was tight and I returned these shoes. The shoes felt great but there was no room in the toe area that allowed for swelling. I want to get a 10.5 4E shoe but I want a color that is unable at this time. So I wait. I recommend this shoe. I would like to see this shoe with a more rounded toe. This would be ideal for me. Thank you Brooks.

This is a great running shoe - probably the best I ever had. The problem is, I can't run more than a couple of steps. I bought this solely because walking shoe models in my size and width (4E) from Brooks are VERY few and are limited to one color (light grey), which doesn't work for me. Ghost Max 2 is also excellent for fast walking. It seems to propel me forward with minimal effort. I love it for that kind of stride! The trouble comes when I have to stand still or amble. The way the sole is constructed and pitched, when I stand, I come close to teetering. I understand I am using the shoe for something it was not designed for, but I waited 8 months to see if a walking shoe in my size, width, and acceptable color was offered. No dice. Well, then, it is what it is.

Bought these for my husband as work shoes. We work 12-15 hours per day on hard floors. Standing all day is rough on feet, legs, hips and back. My husband LOVES these. The red detail is cool too.

Overall I absolutely love these Brooks Ghost Max. I had the previous model and was pleasantly surprised with them and wasnt sure how the updated model would be. Of course Brooks never lets me down. The updated look makes me feel like I have a shoe I can wear for style and running. When I first tried them on I noticed the back of heel cup has a lot more cushion than the previous models. This isnt an issue except that it pushed my foot towards the front of the shoe. I tend to have a wider foot but order my running shoes in a standard width, so this caused my toes to rub a bit more than normal. Also, since they added the fabric around the toe box, it doesnt allow as much movement for my toes. However! When designing that fabric they put little triangle cutouts that happen to be right next to the tip of my big toe. This gives my toe some breathing room when taking a step.

I am an ER Nurse and work 36+ hours a week, mostly on my feet during my shifts. It took me about an hour to get comfortable in these shoes as this was the thickest midsole I have ever worn and I normally wear a zero drop shoe with minimal cushion. Compared to my normal footwear the Brooks Ghost Max felt way more comfortable and left my legs and feet feeling less fatigued after work. This shoe is great for anyone who works a lot on their feet.

Ive worn these for a couple of short and medium distance runs now. They provide extreme cushioning and are very comfortable. Im flat footed and over pronate when I walk/run so I have to have a shoe with great arch support. These provide just that. I have also worn them for about 2 weeks as a casual shoe to work. So even after 8 hours of daily wear at work I dont have any foot or knee pain which is amazing.

I love these shoes. They carry me from clinics to runs and back with comfort and tons of support. The cushion is fabulous for standing around all day on my feet, I am no longer feeling the wear on my hips and lower back like before these shoes. I also have really enjoyed my quick runs in these - although I tend to learn to a harder sole for running these happened to still be just firm enough for all the cushion!

Love, Love, Love these. Bought them specifically for treadmill work in the winter. Doing a 10k a day and no new aches and pains and some of my knee pain is gone. I'm now wearing them on my outdoor runs too and they are equally as awesome on the street.

The Ghost Max SE is my new go to for daily wear and recovery. I typically wear only neutral trainers and flats but the Ghost Max SE has become the shoe I slip on for just day to day activities. Upon first impression, the Ghost appears bulky and heavy but that's not the case. Once I put the shoes on, they took on a totally different character. The DNA Loft V3 Foam and the Glide Roll Rocker provide a cushioned yet stable platform that feels very neutral right out of the box. I've had no heel slippage, abrasive wear or hot spots with these shoes. I've read other reviews that indicated others thought they were a half size small and I'm on the fence with this. With heavy socks, they are snug in the front, but with my light weight socks they're perfect. Width is spot on, no issues. Breathability is very good. When I take the shoes off after 3-4 hours, the shoes are completely dry. If I could change anything about these shoes, it would be to add a splash of color! I'm already in the process of ordering a second back up pair.

First I wear these as work shoes in the hospital and second I do run in these as well. After a shift my feet dont hurt. I run 20-30 miles a week and I feel like Im gliding. They are responsive. I do wish I had another color combination though. This is good for long distance and for a beginner to intermediate runner. Enjoy the ride. Brooks Running gave me this free product to try.
