These pants haves stood the test of time on my various adventures throughout the years...whether it was hiking in the rain in Hawai'i, or rock scrambling in the desert. I have slid on my bum on rock, and these kept me from getting scraped (and they did not rip). These are my VIP pants! Oh and it doesn't hurt they are flattering, which is a plus when it comes to hiking pants.

I normally wear a size 7 in pants which isn't available so I went a size up to an 8 with a 36 inch length. I am 5'8" 140 lbs. They fit very well and the length is perfect with my hiking boots. They are fitted without being tight and have a nice stretch for hiking or light climbing. They washed very well with no shrinking or wrinkling. They look nice enough to wear to the office with a nice top and are so comfortable. Very happy with this purchase. The only negative is the price which seems very high but I have difficulty finding women's pants that are long enough so there aren't many alternatives. It took over a week to receive them which is average for most companies but Zappos used to have such amazing service which is apparently gone now. Their next day deliveries were the main reason I purchased from them in the past.

Great for hiking. I wore these in Arches and it was pretty hot. Good moisture wicking and stretch for climbing. They even held up when dragging myself along a slick rock on my bottom. These should last a good long time.

Love these pants! The material is soft yet seems sturdy—and relatively wind proof, despite being light weight and pretty much wrinkle free. These are great for days or trips where you need to combine business-casual with being active! Run true to size for me—medium fit great for my 5’8” and 150 lbs frame.

My quest is for pants that are lightweight and quick-dry for travel; I was especially hoping for something that would be convertible for super-minimalist packing. I ordered Prana, Marmot, and Mountain Hardwear. Along the lines of a previous comparative review that I found helpful, I will paste this same review on each style I purchased. Prana Halle: i like the idea of the waist drawstring to help take up the gap in the back, but in practice (just from trying on) am not convinced i've figured out how to make that work. as a result, the much vaunted flattering fit does not flatter on me. the thigh zip pocket does fit a passport (US or EU). front pockets too shallow for real use. my calves would presumably get used to having the inside dangling straps ready to roll up to capris, though they are disconcerting at first. Prana Halle Convertible: basically same pant, but with zip-off legs instead of roll-up. i wish the zip were above the knee rather than below, though i suppose one could roll them up from there. or, wish they didn't seem to flare out at the calf when zipped off. simple to zip on/off (some brands have finicky zippers; possibly relevant that this one's got slightly coarser teeth?), and the facings on both sides of the zipper still lie flat enough to not annoy. Marmot Lobo's Convertible: i LOVE that these can do long pants + capris + shorts. front pockets are big enough to use! R thigh zip pocket is big enough for my minimalist wallet. rear pockets secure with a a little rectangle of velcro, so they're low-profile with no pocket flap but also there's a bit of raw velcro to guard fine fabrics from. waistband a better fit for me than Prana, with less gap in the back. thigh zipper line does feel noticeable at first when sitting, less when standing. a little tricky to get zipper started to zip legs back on; for me it seems easier when standing. elastic loops a bit tight for the capri buttoning; i expect they relax a little and/or you get used to them. the fabric does rustle a bit when you move, and on me the joints of the zippered facings swish against each other a little when i walk. Mountain Hardwear Dynama Pant: love the light weight of the fabric, comfortable stretch waistband. the nylon seems prone to static? at least here in the tail end of New England winter. have read other reports that this fabric pills fast and is not durable; hoping to escape that with just casual wear.

I really like these pants and they're by far the most flattering of this style that I tried on (and believe me, I tried a TON) but I don't think they're worth $95. The very first time I wore them, for a bike ride that lasted a few hours, the seems on the knees were starting to pull. They fit me well and I don't have big legs, I think it was just the action of bending my knee that did it. I just feel like something that's almost $100 should hold up a little better than that.

If only the front rise and back rises on these pants were even just 1/2 inch longer, these pants would fit. But instead, they want to slip off my hips. I suspect my hipbones are set a bit too high for these pants to work for hiking. I am sending them back and continuing my search.
I'd also recommend:
