These socks are very thick and warm. There is a significant seam across the toe, so these are definitely not for you if you have sensitive feet. Otherwise these are really great!

Excellent socks, but the flimsy logo ironed onto their outsides peeled off after the 1st wash- fortunately, I'm after quality, not labels.

Loved the variegated colors. Just a little too bulky for my hiking boots and other LLBean socks were perfect in a medium weight. Unfortunately had to return, but for a nice heavy weight sock, these are perfect.

I tried not to love them. They get holes toward the end of one year. I have been purchasing these socks for probably 10 years. I live in Maine and wear them almost year round. This year I got tired of the yearly holes and tried several other top wool sock brands. Not anywhere as good, too tight, too much cushion, never "right." So I decided if I had to buy new socks every year, it would be worth it to have these socks. I love them~

Very soft & cozy - love them. Of note, the seam across the toes is not undetectable as noted in product description. I can definitely feel the seam in my boots. It does not rub or cause any discomfort however.

Unisex sizing may work for men but for my narrower woman's foot, socks are a bit too wide & loose. Good quality and length was correct. Will not buy again due to unisex sizing. Though a woman with a wider foot would probably find the fit to be perfect. I switched to Bombas socks as good quality and much better fit.

Nice fit, nice feel, so far I'm really happy with these socks. My focus is how long they will last. The heels of rag wool socks I've purchased in the past tend to wear out quickly. After about 4 washes I don't see any wear. My significant other hot dries the laundry and thus I'm please to see no shrinkage. So far so good.

I really like these socks a lot. I have been buying them for many years. They seem to have really gone up in price the last 3 or so years though. They always fit great and look good.

They seem like good socks. They fit well. They are comfortable and appear to be made well. I like the colors.

I bought these for my boyfriend for Christmas since he works outside in cold weather and he loved them! He says they fit great and are very comfortable. What he really likes is that they are 70% wool, unlike some other wool socks they sell that are only 25% wool. Would buy them again.

These are super warm and comfortable, but definitely much thicker than the regular non-wool Ragg socks. They would be best with boots or some footwear that has plenty of space. I had trouble squeezing into regular shoes with the thicker wool socks, but they were incredibly warm!

They are great rag wool socks. However I find they need a stronger elastic band at the top, because they fall , just a bit.

First time buying these type of socks from LL.Bean. I washed them inside out with woolite on gentle-cycle, and flat dryed them. They turned out decent, but I'm dissatisfied with what appears to be some damage to the top of the sock. Overall they're warm, thick and attractive; but I'm not sold on the quality. They are generously sized as well.

After wearing cotton (cheap ones) for years in my home, finally decided to get these socks and others - wool as well, to wear as casual indoor socks. Was I happy? But of course! I was afraid that the wool might itch and cause rash - not these socks. These are soft and itch free and seems like that they might last for years. My ONLY problem is, my shoe size is 8.5 and I got the medium which runs a bit small. I only wash and hang to dry on the clothes rack. Well made, washes and wears well. Also, GREAT for people who have wood, tile, and slate floors as these types of floor get super cold.

Very comfortable, but would be more so if they were knit with a lighter weight yarn. They can become tight on my ankles when my feet are swollen. I am chair bound so they are great for keeping my feet warm. I don't believe i could wear them with shoes.

I'm tired of all the fancy, over-engineered socks out there. It's nice when a sock has some fancy stitchery so it hugs your arch and the toe seams are seamless and the sock won't slide down around your ankles. But what I really want is a sock like this one. There's nothing fancy about it. The knitting is visible, the toe seam you can feel a bit on your pinky toes but they still fit inside your shoes nicely. If you get the right size, they should hug your feet, but there's nothing fancy about that either, because these here socks are pretty simple and straight forward. Unless you have thick ankles, you're likely to see the tube part of the sock bunch up a teeny bit where it meets the foot. Now, this is the only reason I docked them one star. It's doing it more than I feel they should. But I love looking down at my feet and seeing these socks. They're homey and cozy looking, and warm without itching. The texture isn't what you'd get with lambswool; you can actually feeling them on the bottom of your feet as you're walking. Normally, I'd be sensitive to something like that and annoyed that and the mild pilling they're already doing on Day One of wearing them. I'm not returning them, though. These socks have a homegrown look and feel that I'm really loving. I do wish women's socks weren't so darn short. But these are a bit longer than others, and they're plenty high for the 8" Bean Boots. So I'm pretty happy with my purchase. We'll see how they wear and I may have to adjust my review in a few months. I intend to wash them on gentle and line dry them. You take care of your clothes and they'll take care of you. Meanwhile, thanks for these nice socks, LL Bean!

These socks are comfortable, wash well and most importantly keep my feet warm! They are thick, so they have a snug fit inside your shoes or boots (might not be comfortable in shoes or boots with not a lot of wiggle room).

I wear a women's size 8 bean boot. These socks are a bit large on my feet. Otherwise, the material is very warm and of good quality. The socks can be just a bit itchy, but it is worth it for the warmth they provide! The color is a bit darker than I imagined as well. I love my bean boots, but I would consider other options if you are looking cozy & cute wool socks to wear with them.

I have purchased these for several years for my son-in-law who loves them for hunting. They wash and wear extremely well, time and time again. Unfortunately, I used to buy them in the 12" height which they no longer carry. I had to purchase them in the 10" height which is a bit short on a 6'8" person, but the great quality is the same in any height.

I wear a men's size 12 shoe so the sock guidance says to order a large. I read reviews that said to buy the larger XL and wash them for a little shrinkage. I am sure glad I followed the review because the XL fits nicely even before washing. Bean should modify the sizing chart, order the larger size! The socks themselves are very nice.

I bought the socks at the end of the "cold" season here in the Mojave Desert. I thought it was getting warmer, in early May, but at our elevation, a cold snap isn't unusual. As it turned out, we had a couple of really cold (for us, any temperature below 40 degrees F is "cold") nights--just the right time to slip on these newly-purchased wool socks! My feet were kept warm, and I was able to sleep well, despite the windy, cold conditions outside! My ankles are allergic to wool, thus the "4" rating. It is noted that the stitching that surrounds the upper part of these socks is somewhat tight, due to the design of the socks. I had to wear a pair of cotton socks under the wool ones, to avoid breaking out.
