These are my second pair of Cross hikes and the first got me through Machu Picchu with no issues! I've had to get a new pair as the old eventually started rubbing. However, after a few long hikes they are holding up well and super comfy ready for my next hiking holiday!

I got one pair last month; tried them out on the weekends and I have to order a second pair right away. Comfortable and light, but the greatest is the protection and support. Thanks.

I am happy with this purchase. It is a very light shoe despite being a hiking boot. I also like the special shoe laces, which are special to Salomon.

Very comfy shoe, roomy, only issue is lots of gap space around ankle that allows gravel and twigs etc to get in shoe

I wore these on a cruise to Alaska where we did a lot of walking on gravel, dirt, pavement and even on a fishing boat. These shoes/boots (I'm honestly not sure which they are) kept my feet dry and comfortable the whole time. They also look a lot heavier than they are. Five stars from me!

I love the hiking boots; it's comfy to hike all day. I went on a hike two days in a row, and it's comfortable.

I enjoy these shoes for my every day out-and-about in the mountains I live in. I need wider toe shoes and I find the more recent Salomons hit the nail on the head for me - finally, women's shoes that aren't meant for ballerinas! My only critique is that the lace tie is far, far too long. They don't come loose enough to use up the entire tie so I don't understand the purpose of the length. This also makes the lace a pain when you tuck it up in the tongue - it doesn't fit as well as it should. When the lace isn't tucked in, it is extremely long and bounces around - sometimes, I even step on it!

I purchased this boot six weeks ago and wore immediately to Iceland for trekking and general wear. Comfortable from the first minute out of the box. True to size. Kept my feet dry through rain, mud, snow and icy conditions. After six weeks of hard wear, they still look great and feel wonderful!!

After wearing the tread down on my original CrossHikes to next to nothing this year, I was due for a new pair. Lucky for me, the CrossHikes 2s are even better than the original, and I wasn't sure how or if that was possible. The main difference I am noticing is the support around the ankle seems to me more sturdy than the original CrossHikes but not to the point of being restrictive. I'm a big fan of these shoes and recommend them to anyone who is looking for the grip of the Speedcross with a bit more support around the ankle and goretex protection.

I bough last year's model and so appreciate the "cushiony" feel of the footbed. I teach art on a concrete floor all day and these boots are perfect. I love the green/orange/brown color combo offered this year and bought a pair. Lovely, yes, but gone is the springy/bouyant/cushy quality. Where do you suppose it went?! Have a most beautiful day!!

Have a doggy biz so walk a lot and am on my 4th pair of similar Salomon hiking shoes. Still love them but this time went for more ankle support / coverage and the tongue seems way bigger than it needs to be, and in fact protrudes a bit. Not a big deal but seems like something y'all should know. Oh, and I especially appreciate are how light water resistant and spacious they are (especially since I tend to get blisters and have an hereditary proclivity to bunions).

Bought these as a winter alternative to my Speed Crosses. They're very light weight, 100% waterproof, and a good height for a fresh dusting of snow. (Heavier snow does tend to get packed to the bottom treds but it hasn't been much of a problem this winter. Will have to see come spring if the same happens with the mud - I don't have problems with the Speed Crosses in the spring.) I wear a wool sock with them to retain heat, without I probably could have downsized a half size - I find I have a bit of heel slippage with a thinner sock. I know these are a mid - a hightop version of the Speed Crosses - but if they were a touch higher or had 2 lace holes at the very top to help keep the tounge snug up to the front of your ankle that would be awesome. I would 100% buy again.

Very light weight and nice looking hiking shoes. Soles are more on the hard side, not as flexible as expected.

I bought this few weeks ago and I feel confident enough to run in the trails. The shoe feels a bit warm as all goretex. I like the the quick laces and the mid length for ankle support.

This shoe is great for casual use on walking trails, dog walking, or just a day out and about. They are comfy right out of the box are are definitely true to size (I am consistently a 7.5 US). There is plenty of wiggle room in the toe box, which I appreciate very much and there was a little pouch in the lip of the boot to stuff the super long strap/lace into. They are also pretty water-resistant and dry quickly in the event they do get wet. The downsides of this shoe are, that you can't control or customize the laces for a more tailored fit, and the durability and dependability are questionable for seasoned/frequent hikers or multi-day backpackers (although they are super light). Ultimately, it depends on what kind of performance you want out of your hiking boots and what you plan to use them for. I wouldn't recommend taking these on a serious tip (like a multi-day national park adventure, anywhere with lots of elevation, or on any slippery rocks) but easy to intermediate hikes should be just fine.

Salomon is my very favorite shoe. However, the Cross Hike2 boots do not have an even fit. The right fits good, except a bit wide. (My feet are narrow). The left is just a tad short, and crowds my big toe. I ordered a size 6 which would fit good except for the left. Also, a bit too wide. I've been wearing them regularly, and think they will break in and be comfortable. Right now they are pretty stiff. I have owned 2 other pairs of Salomons. Loved them. The first pair were boots that I wore when I went snowshoeing. Those boots were probably 20 years old, and finally just wore out.

I love the look and feel of these hikers. They are lightweight but seem durable. They do run a bit big, bought the same size as my salomon trail shoes and there is way more room in these. So far they haven't caused any issues though.
