I haven't worn this brand before but I must say for a light weight shoe they are very comfortable. I haven't hiked with them yet so can't speak about the stability or grip of the sole. I have only used them for daily activities and so far I am pleased.

Second time I've gotten Oboz. They're great! I really like how both sets seem to wrap around the middle of my foot like a hug and feel so secure. One problem might be these ones can be slippery when wet on tile.
I'd also recommend:

This shoe felt like the comfort of a running shoe, but had enough support for hiking. It felt slightly wide, but with good lacing with snug for uphill and downhill maneuver.

Comfortable right out of box. I bought these for snowshoeing and they are perfect for that. Light and waterproof.

I Hike over 500 Miles in these Katabatic Hiking Boots. These Boots are perfect for what I needed to Hike the Camino. The only thing I'd recommend is that you take out the insoles that come with these and replace them with a very good pair of Dr Scholl's Gel Inserts. When You're hiking 15 to 17 Miles a Day you're gonna need the comfort that those will provide. I put these Hiking Boots to the TEST!! and they withstood everything that the Camino could throw at them. I rate them 5 STARS and You will too!

These were Perfect, right out of te box. Comfortable. Breathable. Waterproof. Needed a trail runner for the snow. I have a narrow foot and they hug my "dogs" nicely. Dry out quickly. Have about a hundred miles on them.

I live pretty remote in the mountains of Colorado. I use these everyday as well as hiking. Very lightweight, super comfy, flexible and the traction is way better than so many boots I own. These are so comfortable, I wear them like running shoes.

This shoe has the best grip of all your boots. Many of the others have no grip on wet and freezing surfaces. You need to do a better job with grip technology. .

Very uncomfortable fit. At the first lace loop below the plastic grab lock the tongue and boot panels are sewn together. They overlap with a raised seam inside the collar. This seam edge rubs and chafes the ankle when walking or hiking. Sent mine back.

This is my first Oboz purchase. So far I'm definitely happy. Looks are great and seems to be good quality. I haven't had the chance to test out on a hike yet because of weather, crazy cold but I have worn them around the property and the usual daily stuff. Very comfortable out of the box just needs a little loosening up like anything else. Excellent traction so far on dirt, light mud, snow and ice. Definitely keeps my feet dry in wet situations and still allowed the shoe to breathe. Very happy that I have them a try and already looking for my next pair.

I have owned so many of the top brands so called waterproof walking boots and most of them leak but these boots are bone dry after a wet winter walk, highly recommended

I have worn it only twice on level surfaces since I received it. So far I love it. Its little lighter and the soles feels cushier as compared to my previous Sypes. I might have a better review when its little more broken in.

After 11 days of hiking and playing in the Costa Rica rain forest my feet are still dry after countless water crossing and mud muddled in the middle of the trail. The Katabatic also dried quickly from daily sweat and hasnt held on to the feet stink as much as other shoes Ive worn in the past. Always great having gear you can trust!

I have high intensity and arches. The boots were suitable not for my feet. I gave them away. There was a problem with the right boot in that the construction was too narrow from top to bottom.

This is my 4th pair of Oboz and have loved their performance and comfort. until now. Both pair have a chemical smell each time I wear them only after 30min or so. I have tried extensive washing, but nothing removes the smell. None of my other shoes smell like this, only the Oboz.

The Katabatic looks good, feels great on, and has a nice light weight. However, I have noticed that the design allows the boot to "slide" out sideways, or in other words, your foot isn't secure inside the boot when you torque downhill. It is hard to describe the action, but there is not enough support laterally to hold your foot in the bed of the shoe if you go sideways on a slope. It was unnerving the first time it happened. I have at least ten pairs of Oboz, and I love the support I get in them, but something went wrong in this design. I'll keep them for flat walking, what else can I do?

These were EXACTLY what I wanted, they weighed 462gm each for a 10.5. They looked good, but are a little narrow around the base of the toes, and I had to return them
