I have used the Mountain Classic Down Jacket for a few seasons (excellent coat btw). On the extra cold and windy nights, I sometimes wished for a hood. BEHOLD!!!
I like the added warmth of the parka but the extra length will take getting use to. Other than being warmer, you can't tell it's longer till you either look down or reach for your pocket.
I'm loving it.
I'm 5'9, 160lbs and the medium was perfect. I have ample room for a mid layer if needed.
This fabric isn't like those paper thin membrane down coats. This wont snag and rip like some coats today. You can expect years of every day use out of this parka. I speak from experience as the Mountain Classic Down Coat is made the same and of the same material. It's tough and it ROCKS!
Stay warm friends.

This is the first coat I've purchased in several years and immediately noticed how much warmer it is than my old down coat. The Mountain Classic Parka fits true to size and I love the pockets within the pockets with zippers for keys etc. This is an all around great warm coat. Pleased that I purchased it.

We live in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and I walk my dog mornings and nights. During the winter it can get cold here (high 20s, low 30s) and although I've always been cold by nature I never had a coat that truly kept me warm. This parka is just what the doctor ordered. I like everything about it, and especially the fact that it hits me mid-thing, providing an extra bit of protection from the wind. I got the X-large with the idea that I'd wear it over a suit when the weather got really cold, and it accommodates that. However, it's not too loose if I wear just a sweater. I'd like to have a vertical zip pocket on the chest area, but that's a personal preference and not a knock on the coat. In the online reviews I saw some complaints about the zipper and the snap-on hood, but the former works fine and I detect no air leaks with the latter. My only disappointment is that I did not find this coat years ago.

This coat was a gift for my husband for Christmas and at first we got the large because that is what was recommended to him, but after he tried it on and tried to be "normal" with it a few days, he decided that the XL might be better for him. We did go to the store and they had the coat in the Olive color which he was okay with and he is overall very happy with this coat, which makes me happy too because he is very very picky!

I outgrew my 5 year old coat and needed a new one. This fits the bill.

If it had a P instead of an L at the beginning of the name this would be a $500+ parka. Excellent value and perfect for playing fetch in the yard with the dogs when it's 15 degrees out. Tested out with a t-shirt when it was about 18F out and was very warm. Love the hood. I generally don't like hoods but like this one a lot. Huge fan of this coat.

Pros: light, warm, great length. Con (or a personal gripe): wish there was more than 1 inside pocket. I tend to carry along a lot of stuff... Perhaps a good thing as my coat will not be bulging in all directions. Not serious enough to lower the rating.

I ordered several jackets from different companies. My husband did not like any of them .
This was my last chance to satisfy him
He LOVES this jacket.

Very attractive and functional. Hasn't been tested in really cold weather yet, . I just hope the Bangladeshi that made it was properly compensated.

I have close to 2 dozen winter coats and jackets, leather, wool and puffy varieties. I have been wearing this LL Bean coat for about 3 weeks in the NE Ohio weather, 30's and 40's. So far I would rate this coat the best ever. It keeps you COMFORTABLE outdoors and you do not overheat when you walk indoors. I have worn the hood several times in nasty weather and there were no problems. I prefer the button hood to the zipper. Yes, this is really a nice coat.

I love this coat. I had to exchange the Regular Size L for a Tall to get better coverage on my wrists, and it's perfect. It's so light and warm and doesn't hinder any mobility. The green is an awesome color too.

Gave my husband this coat for Christmas. He loves it. It's warm, longer length, good color(he got green) and puffy. Only drawback is the back middle snap on the hood, keeps coming undone. Other than that, it's a great coat. He's worn it everyday since Christmas.

Exceeds expectations.
Luv the dual pocket feature one that zips and one that snaps.

Great coat. Really love this coat. It's three-quarter length which makes a big difference for someone who suffers from being cold. I Enthusiastically recommend this jacket anyone who lives in a colder climate, in my case in New England.

I bought this coat for a trip to Qubec from my native Texas. When I left Dallas the temperature was 70. In Qubec it was 15. The coat was light enough to easily carry onto the plane, and make a decent pillow. Yet it was warm enough to defeat a Canadian December. It needs inside pockets. And the double zipper can be hard to get started. But those are minor complaints for a superior product.
