I bought these for my husband, and he says they are the best tennis shoes he has ever worn (and he's no spring chicken)! Great heel support, very good arch support, even great support for the toes and front of the feet. He says these shoes also help him avoid over pronating. The only downside is how much they cost.

I have ran 10 miles in these on crushed limestone and 13 miles on trails in New Mexico with sand and sharp rocks and hills. These trail shoes felt comfortable with no foot damage. I also felt very secure and confident going up and down the steep switch back trails.

Just did a 30 mile trail race and feet feel great. I love the light and flexible new Hook design.

Combine the responsiveness of the carbon-X with a trail shoe and you have this shoe! Although my favorite is still the Speedgoats, this one is growing on me.

Fit great, and for this money should be. Perfect colour and comfy. Good cushion and stability, one of the best shoe in my collection.

Great trail running shoe, love how light and supportive this shoe is. Would love in Goretex and if the carbon plate were infused in the Speedgoat.

One of the best trail shoes I have owned. They are a little expensive, but so far are working great with excellent traction on wet surfaces, stability and protection from rocks. Lightweight and responsive, they seem like a good option for either training or trail races.

Almost missed on these awesome shoew because of the 4 stars review - these shoes are so comfortable and so nice, the people giving bad reviews because of color - well if you don't like the color, return them.... I love these shoes, good quality and very comfortable

Most of my miles have been sand/beach, built I must say that the light was and responsiveness doesn't sacrifice comfort and usually I find that this is the case. I used the first Carbon X and found that they were wonderful but my feet felt beat down after ten or so miles. With the Tecton Xs this is not the case.

Just raced a 50-miler with 10,000' of steep vertical gain and corresponding descent in the Sangre di Cristo Mountains of Southcentral Colorado in the Tecton X. My favorite Hoka trail-racer ever for this distance; never even had to adjust the laces. The grip is superior, and so is the comfort and agility, to the Speedgoat 5 and the Mafate Speed 4. And they run so much lighter! The plate works at any speed and is reminiscent of the Speedland PDX, which has even better lockdown but isn't as soft a ride as the Tecton X for distances beyond 25 miles or so. Finally a Hoka with enough room in toe box! Highly recommend and just ordered a second pair.

I've worn a lot of running shoes and this one ranks up there with the best of them! It really feels like a great combination of other Hoka favorites of mine. The shoe molds to my foot well and provides outstanding protection while remaining very light and nimble overall. I ran a total of 75 miles in the shoe over a period of two weeks before making the decision to wear it at my 20th Wasatch 100. It performed really well on all trail sections including technical and smooth! So far the shoe has help up really well!
It is a bit pricey but I would buy this shoe again and would recommend it to avid mountain/trail runners!
THANKS HOKA!!!!!

This is my 5th or 6th pair. This color really pops! I've debated on sending these back if you have purchase this brand before you know that they are true to size. This pair is cut a little shorter than my others. If I go half size bigger then it will be too big. Overall they are very comfortable. I always recommend them.

Love these shoes! Took them out running for the first time this weekend and they were very comfortable, and I ran much more comfortably. There is great support, and I felt like they were made for my feet. They're my first high-end running shoes and I'm definitely a believer!

I used it for hiking. It provides a good grip and aids in my balance (I think).

I run both the road and trail on an equal basis and, as much as possible, I like to run fast if and when my body and legs allow me to do so. Other trail running shoes I've had or still have are on the rugged and cushioned side so I was very interested in the Tecton X with the carbon fiber plate when I started hearing/reading about it.
I've only put in around 15 miles so far but I can say that I'm impressed with how it handles various terrains as well as generating the extra speed when I want/need it. It's a tad narrow for my feet but I have one of those 'tweener foots that would ideally be .25 but thin socks does the trick. The traction is great, even for the technical trails on steep hills. The cushioning probably isn't the best for long runs on hard ground trails but I guess you can't have it all.
The Tecton X is a bit of a specialized trail running shoes and it's not what I'd recommend for a leisurely walk or jog through the woods. This is for running fast and zipping through twisting technical trails on strenuous hills with steep inclines and declines. I like to run such trails at least once a week and these shoes perfectly handle the tasks required for such a run. Very happy.

As an ultrarunner who doesn't podium, I am constantly shredding shoes and often choose comfort as an important factor in my shoe selection. Hoka always delivers, and I also exclusively use their road shoes for triathlon as well. Hoka has created a loyal, lifelong customer out of me!

Outstanding shoes! Ran 8,8 and 7.5 miles as soon as they came and they are the best shoes I have run in. I do not typically run in Hokas because I like to feel the ground more but these don't seem to have as much heel stack and the 4 mm drop is awesome. I also have not typically liked carbon fiber plates but the Tecton X are great and give great spring in the front. I don't know if any other company has split the plates down the middle but if not Hoka deserves best new running shoe technology and best new shoes awards. It feels like having independent suspension in the front of your shoes!
