I order half the size larger than actual size I use on purpose since steel toes tend to provoke in grown toe nails on my feet. So far with these shoes it has not been the case! After tying my the shoes they fit like a glove and feel light as feather! Great shoe with unmatched quality, style and comfort! Not to mention unmatched customer support!!Zappos you for rock!

Always have been and always will be a fan of Danners work boots and shoes! They always have plenty of room in the toe box, are comfortable, and tough. For this shoe being a steel toe it’s actually relatively light, and there’s plenty of room in the toe box so you can’t feel the steel toe unlike some other brands. I will say these shoes do seem a little warm so I will have to see how they fair working out in the hot Sun all day. But overall this is a 5 star purchase I would definitely recommend Danner for anyone looking for a reliable, comfortable work shoe.

It felt a bit larger at the moment of putting them on. After tightening the the laces the shoes felt almost like perfectly fit gloves on my feet. The style, craftsmanship and comfort is as good as advertised with this work shoe! Anyone looking to go with this brand of shoe won’t be disappointed.

The shoe felt solid and very well-made with excellent materials. For my feet, the size 9 was good; however, the shoes were a little too narrow and the arch was alittle too high, even after really loosening up the shoelaces. 9 wide would have been my size, but there was no wide option. The laces were too short and did not reach the last holes, so the shoes seem to dangle alittle when taking steps. Longer laces aftermarket could solve this, although a comment or two said that the plastic eyelets in the last holes eventually came off on them. The shoes also felt a tad heavy (compared to my steel toe sneakers), but this to be expected from steel toe workshoes. It felt a tad heavy as if, in a violent industrial accident, I can imagine a worker's foot would fracture at the ankle with the foot still in the shoe. Otherwise, it is a very high quality shoe for someone with more nimble. non-wide feet.

My one foot is 12 and the other 12.5, so I have to compromise to fit wither a 12 or 13 that fits without being too tight or too loose on one of my feet. There are a few manufacturers that make 12.5, but not many. This shoe uses the "850 last" which is like the "foot form" used to model the show, and I have Danner hiking boots that use that "850 last". I found that the 850 last in size 13 works for my feet when I wear a thicker padded sock, and I use a Superfeet Green insole, which is probably thicker than the factory insole. There is one eyelet at the top of the laces that is plastic, instead of being a metal eyelet. In less than 1 year of wearing them3 or 4 days a week, the plastic eyelet has separated. I can't understand why they would save a few pennies instead of using a metal eyelet on shoes costing over $100. Also the rubber trim that acts as an additional scuff guard around the toe box, cracked after only a few weeks at the point where the shoe bends aside your toes. It still works, just surprised at how poorly it performed when it is supposed to be the extra protection for the kick-surfaces of the shoe. Another item I am unhappy with is Danner laces. I have had them shred before on two pairs of Danner hiking boots I had, but I figured that's just because of the strains of yanking on laces when hiking, and those "U-shaped" hooks that the laces pull against. On this shoe, they are simple eyelets, and in less than a year, the outer covering of the lace wore out, exposing the inner core, and that doesn't last very long before you can't use them because the outer core starts bunching up. So for 3 of my 4 pairs of Danner boots/shoes, I rank their LACES as a 2 out of 5 because I feel they should last longer than what I experienced with their failures.

These shoes are generally good but have one major flaw: the laces are too short (size 14M). I'm not sure if anyone at the company ever tried these shoes on, but the laces are so short they are nearly impossible to tie. I ordered some paracord laces that were 6-8 inches longer and now I can wear them. They could use bit more cushioning, but otherwise they are good shoes.
