This shoe is comfortable with nice arch support. However it's full size bigger than my other Asics shoes.

I wish the mesh lasted longer-it has holes in it way too soon whereas some of my older Asics still look great on the outside.

The quality and style were not as good as my old pair of Asics. Otherwise, they fit perfectly. The toe box fit fine but the toe area was weirdly long and unattractive. Returned

I enjoyed how comfortable they were right out of the box. I wore them almost daily for walking (not even running) or on the treadmill at the gym for about 6 weeks. Then I realized a hole was starting to appear over both big toes. I keep my toenails short, and other athletic shoes have not had this issue because the fabric on these is just too thin and lacks a supportive layer.

I purchased a different style of this same company’s sneakers and this pair felt much narrower.

I've been wearing these for about a year mainly just doing errands and walking the dog. Nothing strenuous or rough on the shoe itself and I don't wear them everyday. They are comfortable and stylish looking, although I replaced the insole with a custom one and the shoe laces. My only beef with them is that the fabric around the ankle cuff has completely worn away and the foam is showing. Its just such a weird place for a shoe to fail as there is hardly any wear and tear damage anywhere else. Maybe that's what to expect for the lower priced Asics shoes? Anyway, I ordered another pair of this exact style today -- because I like this one and I don't need anything "fancier" or more high tech.

Loved the GEL-Excite 7 and really liked the GEL-Excite 8, but these ones aren't the same. The heal base in unlevel and is causing a blister. They also run bigger that the others.

Overall I am pleased with this purchase. I was looking for a casual no-frills walking shoe. I got black and pink, which is more like a dark charcoal. The pink is subtle. Sizing is about right, but wider in the forefoot than I expected. Arch support is moderate, but less than other Asics models. I think it is ok for walking, but personally, for me, it does not have enough support for running. That’s ok, I’m just using them for walking while recuperating. I’ve worn Asics for decades and this is the first time I’ve gotten this Gel series. In the past I have primarily bought Asics Kayano and Nimbus for running. Those are much more expensive and so I opted for this model for casual walking instead. As expected, there are significant quality differences. Some are cosmetic, for example, the stripes on Gel Excite are just painted or heat transferred on. Kayano/Nimbus et al stripes are cut of material and stitched on, often in a more complex pattern. But, there seems to be significant structural differences too, with Kayano/Nimbus having significantly more arch support and a sole “track” technology that helps stabilize the foot while running. When I go back to running, I will definitely buy Nimbus, Kayano, Cumulus, or similar. For me, Gel-Excite is not supportive enough for running. That’s me, it may be just perfect for others. Gel-Excite also fits differently than those other series. It is wider and roomer in the forefoot. However, I have a narrow heel and that aspect of Gel Excite seems to fit me well. Other than the unexpected wide width, the length seems accurate. I wear a 7-1/2 and got an 8. Asics sizing is not quite consistent and my last Kayanos were smallish, and I made a possible error of sizing up with the Gel-Excites. The 8 is a squeak bit long on me. The 8 will be fine for walking, but if I were to use them for running, I would choose true-to-size in these. Overall though, for my purpose, I am pleased with this purchase.

Shoe fit but bought to train for a half marathon and they rub in weird places. Never had any issues with ASICS before this shoe.

I wish ASICS would standardize their sizes! These were too long, and the shape makes them look even longer. I returned them for another style.

Our daughter likes these shoes. True to size and comfortable. Unfortunately in just 3 short months the mesh pulled apart and there is now a hole in them.

These shoes are comfortable, they're nice and wide in the toe box and are flexible. However, they don't have enough cushion for me to walk/run on pavement. I kept a pair to wear in the house but had to return the others.
