I really like the springy foam in this shoe. Even though there's just a thin layer of rubber, it does feel grippy on the road. The upper is a HUGE improvement on the original cyclone. I liked the sole of that shoe, but the heel was so thin and not secure that I would get blisters. This upper feels like a lighter weight version of the Ultrafly, and the heel is very secure.

I love the open box toe-shape for ease of toes movement on these shoes.

This shoe can be adjusted to fit snuggly in heel and mid foot while maintaining a roomy toe box which makes my ankle and arch more stable. There is not pinching or rubbing. The shoe feels one with my foot.. Its lightweight and moderately cushioned. It has some traction. It's a very comfortable and great for trail running and trail walking. Keep making this shoe but also make a waterproof version for wet and winter conditions.

As soon as l saw a runner friend wearing and raving about his running shoes Topos l bought a pair for hiking w my dogs daily. This is probably my 7th pair. I typically buy two pairs of a trail running shoe a year to hike. First time l didn't buy the gortex version bc it's still summer here. Love them.

Surprised at how comfy these were straight from the box. Super soft on pavement and hardpacked dirt.

I LOVE my Topo's trail runners! It doesn't matter if you don't use them for running, I don't! The fit is perfect for my moderately wide feet and they have the perfect toe box for people who can't wait pointy shoes. These shoes also help to stretch out one's calves since they have 5mm heel drop; meaning they raise your heel only slightly. I count on Zappos to have my size which is not that easy to find in stores. Thank you!!

I began daily walking in May and then progressed to Nordic Walking in July. Found Topo online after I wrecked my feet using ill fitting shoes (not wide enough) that I got at a pro shop (!). The width is fine and my friction blisters have subsided. I feel very secure in these shoes. Would highly recommend.

I've been looking for a hiking shoe to replace Altra- wide box toe room, lightweight but better sole and fabric. Bingo! Vibram sole, lightweight, great arch support (like Altra), better color. We'll see how the exterior fabric wears. Hiking/walking shoes i always 1/2 size up. This shoe i had to go a full size up. No problem, fit perfectly, and wasn't overtly long in length doing that. I have been disappointed w Altra Lone Peak, used for hiking. Within 1 yr slipped on rock paths several times, 1x time toke a pretty bad fall. That was it for me. Have been using my Keen's meanwhile (sticky fabulous sole like Vibram), but they are like cement blocks on my feet, so heavy. So happy to find this shoe.

Took these shoes hiking and they were so comfortable. They seem a bit shorter than my other Topos so, if I were to order them again, I'd go up a 1/2 size. I will definitely recommend them to a friend.

Mostly a weekend warrior with 10 - 25 mile day hikes or 2 - 7 night backpacking trips. These shoes are fantastic (long time Lone Peak Altra user for comparison). Took them for a technical hike in Acadia and they were amazing. Perfect grip on slick granite boulders, really secure around the ankle with no slipping, ideal toe box. My only complaint is the colors, but they matched the lichen covered boulders perfectly! (But seriously, I'd much prefer black/gray/brown).

I like the grippy sole, wide toe box, and perfect shock absorption that is cushy but you can still feel the terrain.

I loved this shoe. I ordered a couple of sizes to try. The larger pair was ever so slightly (I mean tiny difference) snug for the right foot toe. I tried with various thickness of socks and the thin pair worked, but I wanted a little more flexibility and will order the next size up. The shoe is beautiful and the toe box and arch support perfect. Love this shoe and want to make it work. Stay tuned!

These are the most comfortable trail shoes I've had in a long time. They work well in any terrain. I've worn them in the mud and on technically and rocky trails. I have a bad knee and I don't feel a thing running in these shoes!

The Mtn Racer 2's are the perfect replacement for my beloved Pearl Izumi trail shoes. I stocked up when they were discontinued in 2016/2017 and now I'm on my last pair. I love the Mtn Racers because there is plenty of room in the toe box but not too much that my feet move around in them on technical terrain. I like the low stack so I can still feel the ground. The traction is great, too. This is the only trail shoe I have found that has a roomy toe box but is NOT zero drop.

I normally wear orthotics, but I don't have to wear them with this particular style. This is my 3rd pair within the past two years.

Love the fit of these shoes. I did have to go a 1/2 size larger tho. Like the color. They are pricey, well worth it.

Was recommended to try Topo for the wider torbox, since Altra’s didn’t fit me well. I really like these.

The original MTN Racers were my favorite shoe when I got them. The material on the upper eventually shrank and my shoes no longer fit me. My 2nd pair of MTN racers only lasted 50 miles before they were too small. The MTN Racer 2 fits a lot like the original Ultraventure, with a solid but soft heel lock and roomy toe box. Amazing traction even in snow and on ice. New favorite shoe.

Will be using these for hiking and trail running. They are comfortable enough I may use them on a daily basis for work.

I am a mountain ultra runner and absolutely love these shoes. The material and fit is even better than the first mountain racer. I get great traction on steep rocky mountain trails. I recently wore them for the first half of a 100 miler and they were perfect. I used to be an altra fan but the altras tend to have a "sloppy" baggy fit. I really appreciate the fitted heal but room in the toe box.
This is my second pair of mountain racer. I'd say the durability could be a bit better but I always get a few hundred miles on them. And I run 40 to 60 miles a week and tend to burn through shoes.I also love the ultra adventures.

These shoes have a wide toe box like Altras, cushion like Hokas , and tread/lugs like Salomons and Brooks. They've held up great on both pavement and a variety of terrain (mud, rock, bark mulch, sand). I plan on making these my new backpacking trail runners as well. The fabric weave is super breathable but does let a decent amount of sand and fine grit in. I also wish the color wasn't so light as it stains easily with mud and clay. So far held up well ~100 miles in and excited for future versions.
