Barefoot concept is good but the thick material in the upper resulted in a puffy look when tightened. Made in China. A lot of shoe for me, as I have slim legs. Overall not attractive and not sleek enough for smooth stride.

Upper materials are cheap. Too much shoe, consequently unwieldy. Made in China.

I am a size 7.5 to 8. I returned a size 8 for a size 8.5, and now I have to return again for a size 9. Shoes are really nice, but sizing is way off.

I am training for an ultra and these mamma-jammas have been my go to companion. The trails Ive been running have sand, water, rocks and hills you can definitely feel the jagged rocks but they are super durable. They drain water really well and have good traction. Highly recommend!

I wanted so badly to love these shoes. I tried twice to order these shoes. Once sizing up per the recommendation and then a second time sizing up again. Both times each shoe fit basically the same. There is about a 1/4 inch difference in the length between sizes (which was not clear on the site). I told the company if they could include the measurement of each size (length and width) this would help prevent sizing issues since their recommendation is off. I would say, if you really want these consider sizing up at least a size and a half from your normal shoes size. Trust me. I had a 7.5 and compared it to all my 6.5 shoes (hiking boots, sneaker, heels, flats, booties and the 7.5 was the same length as all my 6.5 shoes). Personally, I need my hiking shoes to fit a bit larger due to swelling. I decided to not buy a third pair to try because the back and forth with shipping and waiting (or just paying double until they processed the refund for the original pair, which I couldn't afford) was just too much. Their customer service was meh. The more I asked about the shoes and the sizing the longer it took them to get back to me. When I first called, I heard back the same day. Each time I reached out for a bit more information about the measurements of the width was pulling teeth and frustrating. Again, all of that could have been avoided had there was an accurate measurement chart that shared the length and width of each size.

I have been doing barefoot style running for years now and Merrell was always my go-to, but they have changed their shoes and I'm not a big fan. What I am a HUGE fan of is these Mesa Trail shoes! I love the wide toe box and the flexibility of the sole. Plus the grip on these is great. Worked well in the winter running through slushy/icy streets. I plan to use them on some trail running this spring. I want another everyday pair of something similar just to wear around because they are so comfortable.

The listing said "True to size," but you'll need to order a size larger. I usually wear a Woman's 9. I decided to order a 9.5 because other listings said to order a half size up, but my toes ended up hitting the end of the shoes when I walked. If you love being barefoot as often as possible, these shoes are a great choice. I look forward to the 10's arriving.

I did order half a size up, as suggested in the shoe description. I was looking for a lightweight walking/hiking shoe, hopefully one without need for a break-in period. I’m really happy with this shoe. It was comfortable out of the box and my first walk caused no blisters.

When my last pair of sneakers died and I discovered the style was discontinued I wasn't too hopeful of finding another pair equally good, but these are great! Zero drop makes my knees, hips, and lower back feel so much better and the wide toe box means I can wear them with big fluffy hiking socks in the winter to keep my perennially cold toes warm. These don't have any arch support, but personally I like it better that way. Putting arch support under a healthy, well-functioning arch means potentially stabilizing your foot in a position that does more harm that good. You don't wear a knee brace unless you actually have a knee problem, you don't want arch support unless you actually have a problem with your arch that needs a solution. Good treads on the bottom for slick rocks and rough gravel. Just what I was hoping for for hiking/trail running with the doggo!

Xero notes with the Mesa Trail on their website that you should order 1/2 size larger than typical- I would agree. I ordered my true size (7.5) since there were no 8s in stock, and unfortunately, they were too small.

I'm a hiker. I usually hike to waterfalls and other short trails. Yesterday I broke my personal best for elevation and distance wearing these flawless shoes. 9.9km to the highest peak in Canada's Atlantic region (820m high). My feet were great! I didn't need to change socks because my feet were dry from the advanced breathability of these shoes. Surprisingly I had no blisters or even chaffing. Extremely comfortable. These shoes are great for everyday use and for strenuous hiking. I recommend to anyone. Can't wait to try my next Xero shoes. Lifetime buyer over here!

I had been searching for a hiking shoe that was comfortable on my flat feet and also wouldn't give me blisters. I'm so glad I took a chance on these! They were super comfy out of the box, so no break-in period, which was fantastic. They fit really well a half size larger than my usual size. They also have so much grip! I've worn them up gravel piles, over smooth rocks, on sandy trails, and they never slip. If anything, I'm bummed the Lagoon color wasn't in stock when I ordered mine, but that's a small thing. I absolutely love these and I hope they last a while!

These shoes are great! I've run several types of trails in them, & they have just enough grip & support to allow me to run safely, yet still enough freedom of movement & feeling to know where my feet are & enjoy the different terrain under my soles.

For years I've had chronic foot / leg pain especially after longer walks or hikes. Since I've started wearing these shoes I've had some muscle soreness as my foot strengthens but almost zero pain! I'd say they are great shoes to transition to barefoot because the tread makes them feel similar to a 'normal' shoe. The tread is awesome for hiking the often muddy / slippery / rocky trails near my home. And as a bonus they look better on than I expected! Honestly I thought they'd be a bit awkward and dorky looking but they aren't at all in my opinion. They look good with hiking gear or just with regular jeans and a t-shirt. I would add that I have pretty narrow feet (maybe from years of wearing those 'normal' shoes) and most barefoot shoes are fit a bit too wide on me, but these fit perfectly, so maybe they'd be tight for someone with wider feet.

I love my new Mesa Trail shoes. I bought a size 8 1/2. I usually wear a 7 1/2 regular womans shoe but with my running shoes I wear an 8 1/2. The first pair I got I sent back because the right foot was cut shorter and my toe hit the end. I dont normally have a problem with one foot being longer than the other so I knew it had to be the shoe and not my foot. After returning the shoes I ordered the same shoe again in the same size and they were perfect. I love the shoe. I have been wearing low profile shoes for many years. I like these because they are so light on my feet. They are very comfortable and seem to grip well on wet rocks etc. I also like the fact that they seem to wick the moisture quickly if I step in a puddle. The soles are thin but I dont feel sharp rocks through them which is also nice. I will definitely buy again and plan to buy a pair of road shoes next. I only run trails but once in a while I hit the track for a workout. Looking forward to flying.

The shoes fit very well except that they are a little on the narrow side. I liked the color combination better in the picture but overall they are a very nice pair of trail shoes.

The size was perfect - definitely go up 1/2 a size. The width is also great for my wide feet. Unfortunately my big toes scrape against the edge where the black stiffer material at the tip of the shoe is sewn into the mesh material of the rest of the shoe. The placement of that stitch line doesn't work for my feet but might be fine for others.

I ordered two other Xero styles at the same time as this one. This pair was a good half size smaller than the other two so I am returning them. However, they were my favorite style of the three.

Fit is about a half size smaller than the label, which is perfect for my feet. These are the most comfortable shoes I've worn and it helps tremendously with my knee and back problems.
