Used love this jacket till TNF changed the design to a larger square. Not sure for the reason had a winner now a dud. Please TNF, please bring back the original design.

I bought this to go camping and hiking and recently I used this jacket in 30-40 degrees F and it was great but i used a outer shell because the outer material felt a little weak and i was worried if it might get ripped by a branch and another issue was the zipper its a little stiff to get out and feels like it can snap any momment but i take care of my jackets well so I dont mind I live how slim it is as i am a slim person. Overall this is a great warm jacket with decent water risistant properties just make sure to watch out your sorrundings or use a outer layer to make sure it dosnt tear

I had second thoughts at first about the jacket because I was concerend about the slightly snug fit. I'm about 185lbs and 6 ft tall with the medium size being snug but not uncomfortable at all. I just wondered about wearing layers witht he jacket. The arm length is perfect for me and the large size would be too long in the arms. I almost throught to return it to other options but realized this size is really perfect as is after wearing it on a few outings. I don't really need additional mid-layers with this jacket so it has been great and won't be looking elsewhere for another jacket. I had the previous iteration of the Thermoball (I guess 1.0?) and this one seems to be warmer as well.

I have to change my review. I received this today in XXL and it fits perfectly. The xl in store was not a good fit for me! Seems NF has changed the sizing a bit. I've always worn a xl in NF so I was surprised the XXL fit so well. If I have to be picky its a very tiny bit too big but maybe a half inch in the stomach. Little bit loose but you can't tell at all and it makes it comfortable. Glad I picked this piece up.

Again, like every other NF coat with NO draw cord to tighten the bottom etc etc. This XL jacket was so tight I couldn't breath in my chest, the XXL was soo huge and frumpy. Really frustrating this new sizing. Sizing and cut need to be addressed! At NF! Very unhappy with this jacket!

This product was a gift for my college son. He loves it! Says it's lightweight but warm and great for cool rainy days. He has brought up how much he likes it several times. Thank you North Face

Fits well, works well for any occasion and serves its purpose terrifically. Zipper is a little finnicky but once you get used to it it's fine.

The jacket is very soft and appears durable. I wish it was a little thicker/warmer than what it is.

I tried this on several times at a local TNF store and finally purchased it online during the 2025 winter sale. I'm a 5'6" male, 150-155, and the medium fits perfectly. After receiving, I tested it outside on a cold (wind chill 10F), sunny, windy day, and it kept me warmer than expected. Compared to my LL Bean 850 down hooded coat, I felt a little more cold air, but still very impressive for the weight.
This coat is warm, soft, and comfortable and although I cannot quite comment on the durability yet, it seems to be of high quality.
My only criticism is that the hood is not adjustable and does not conform to my bald head as much as I'd like it to. Otherwise, I'd give it a perfect 5-star rating. I intend to wear this as a lighter jacket in 30-50F degree temps and I'm confident that it will provide just what I need.
It is very packable and easily packs into the inside chest pocket (even easier than my Bean coat), making it an ideal choice for travel.

The cost is shorter than exactly the same cost purchased couple years ago. It has also slightly shorter sleeves. In addition, the zipper is of a lesser quality than in all the previously purchased costs. My husband loved this coat. It's the only coat and best he would wear. We had to return it. Big disappointment and major inconvenience. This is called shtinkfllation, I believe.

I got this for my 15 year old son. Does he like it because it says North Face on it? Definitely. Does he like it because he can wear it with Birkenstocks, white socks, and basketball shorts when it is 15 degrees out? For sure. Does he like it because it is quality apparel at a reasonable price? Maybe. One thing is for certain- he thinks he looks sooooo good in it, so, five stars for the confidence and 15 year old swagger.

This has become my main go-to to jacket for 30-degree weather. The only reason why I don't give it 5 stars is that I notice a stitching issue on the hood. Love the hood. Very warm! Pairs nicely with other thermoball jackets.

Wore the jacket for three days and somehow a crease made while being packaged weakened the fabric and ripped. Terrible quality.

I love this jacket. If I could only own one jacket it would be a thermoball. I rate it to 32-35 degrees and up. Water rating - slight drizzle to light rain 45 minutes. This jacket is reliable
