There is a spot on the top inside, wear the seam is sewn. It is very uncomfortable. It's a shame, because they are a great quality slipper.

I bought these before Christmas and by late February the stitching had completely come apart on one of the heels.

I bought these for my son for Christmas. Sadly, they were not very comfortable and would fall off his feet when he walked. I returned them.

Comfortable slippers but as stated in previous reviews, backs will not support keeping shoes on your feet when walking.

Bought this for my husband for Christmas. Nice shoe. Great Construction. But because of the low back of the heel (I thought he would love that) he couldn't seem to keep it on his foot when he walked. To clarify, he is 80. Physically in top condition, walks 5 miles every day, and lifts weights. Has no problem with balance....Had trouble walking in the shoe. Therefore, the low rating. Sending back and ordering a different LL Bean shoe with a Heel that has a higher back.

Nice look and design, but the inner fleece on the heels wore out in just two months. Thankfully, LL Bean customer service is there to save the day! I exchanged these for the elk hide scuff that my husband previously had for over five years.

I ordered this pair to replace a worn out pair that I was completely happy with. Although this is the same size and style, this pair does not fit as the others. I measured the back rim of both pairs and they are the same but the new ones do not stay up, Instead, they flatten and do not stop my heel from sliding back. They are more like sliders than scuffs. Can't figure out the difference. Note: I only checked the above boxes because it was required.

The quality of material used was very good. The design overall was poor. The heel portion would slip off easily making walking difficult. Needed to order the other slipper that has a higher back to keep on my feet.

I bought these for a Christmas gift. He loved them, but within a few days blew a hole through the front of the slipper. I am bummed, as I expected better quality from LL Bean.

I had wanted to purchase a pair of wicked good slippers for a long time. I wear a men's shoe because women's shoes aren't wide enough. The graphite color was as expected, nice, the lining was as depicted in the catalog. However, when I tried slipping my right foot in with a regular crew sock, I found it to be too narrow. I planned on wearing these slippers with socks. I usually wear a size 8.5 men's shoe or boot so I was surprised when the 8.5 didn't fit. I ended up returning them.

The slippers were entirely too narrow and could not be worn at least by me. The back end was nearly non-existent and and the slippers could easily be sloughed off.

Much smaller than expected, perhaps it is the piling. I bought these for my wife. We based the size selection on my unlined Bean slippers which fit her perfectly. These were way too tight in both length and width.
I would not recommend these slippers without trying them on. Now we are going to have to make a trip to the LL Bean store 2 hours away to exchange for a better selection (and lose the promotion deal).

The slippers are very comfortable however the lining wore out in the heels within 2 months or so. I expected better quality from LL Bean.

My wife got me these for Christmas. Now I know L.L. Bean has great stuff. This slipper is great too. Looks good, made well, warm...but in my opinion it has two negative things. 1. The 1/2 heel I found was not sturdy enough and didn't really serve its purpose of keeping my foot in the slipper. 2. The inner sole (fleece) I found was cut too long. So it feels really nice when you slide your foot in but when you go to walk, your foot slide all around. Now you're going to say, "you got a size too big". Well if I got a size smaller I'd be sitting down to pull the slippers on like a regular shoe. Keep in mind, that is not what I wanted in a slipper. I ended up returning these for a different slipper.

I live in Maine in a house where shoes are verboten. Thus, slippers are a must in the (5) cold months. I love Beans but until last fall, had not tried its slippers. These scuffs looked comfy, warm, and easy to slip into. "Yes" to the first two adjectives. "Nope" to slipping them on. The back of the scuff is too high for that to be possible. I either had to bend over and pull them on, or, as I eventually did, mash down the back of the scuffs. The shearling looked great out of the box, but alas, it didn't last. After a few weeks, it was pretty crushed. A year after purchase (not worn in the summer) much of the wool had worn off. Last week, I gave up on them, and purchased a pair of flannel-lined slippers (item #: TA212164) from Beans. Arrived today and I believe these are the real deal. Granted, I expect the flannel will wear out within a year, but the fit and look are outstanding. Although these do not pretend to be scuffs (they have a traditional back), my feet slip right in. No occasion to crush the back. I advise against the scuffs, but recommend the flannel lined slippers. The latter are are few bucks cheaper, too.

OK to wear for short periods, but wool beneath ball of foot was so much thicker than under heel that my shins began hurting after wearing for any length of time.

Sorry LLBean, the Scuffs are not what I thought I was ordering. I'm a true size 12 and rarely have to deviate from that. These scuffs were too narrow and far too short. When I tried walking in them my heel slid off on either side constantly. The Quality is what you would expect but they were the most uncomfortable house shoes I have ever tried. Sorry, LL Bean

I purchased a pair of the Comfort Mocs II in the summer and loved them. Size 9M fit perfectly. I assumed these slippers would fit and feel the same way. They do not. There is absolutely no back support on these shoes. I walked right out them 3 times trying to walk across the room. Additionally the size 9M in this shoe is much larger than the Comfort Mocs. Since these shoes do not come in half sizes fit can be a problem. Would not recommend. This is the only product I have ever purchased from LL Bean that I would deem subpar.

They look really nice and have a thick fleece lining so they are soft and warm.. I bought these for a gift and after less than 6 weeks of wear the stitching at the top of the heel ripped. I think the thickness of the fleece also made the sizing a little small. Will be returning.

I bought these for my boyfriend to putter around on Saturday mornings and still be able to run outside for a quick second. He found they lacked support and were too warm. Bummer.

Nice looking but ordered a size 11 as a gift for my son and they were still too short. He wears a size 10 M shoe!
I think you need to rethink your sizing.

I loved the original scuff, which was a true "scuff", that is with an open, flat heel rather than the raised edge on the current version. The current version is more like a soft clog than a scuff. Also, I preferred the more flexible sole on the original version to the firmer, more shoe-like one they have now. So, I've passed these ones along for another family member to use and am searching for something like what LL Bean used to sell.
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
My appeal to LL Bean is to bring back the original. People who want a raised heel and an outdoor sole can get the moccasins, or clogs. Perhaps a compromise would be to sell both the new version and the old.
