I'd have given it 5 stars if the laptop pocket was a smidgen less tightbut the largest pocket makes up for it. It works well for my camera, compact tripod, and maybe even a laptop and a couple flashlights or flash unit, the outer pocket is good for a water bottle and hand sanitizer, napkins, etc. it's well laid out and roomy enough for what I need to to,

This bag is very comfortable and roomy, there is adequate space for anything you need, I can. fit a 13in laptop, tablet, lunch bag, and jacket with ease with still lots of space left. I really enjoy the 2 dedicated laptop compartments in the back of the bag and the straps that run along the bottom of the bag to reduce the depth volume. I can say this bag takes weight very well, I have a Recon and once loaded that bag kills my back, but this large bag distributes the weight nice and evenly. This bag is nearly perfect expect 2 things that I dislike. First is that the fleece lined sunglasses zip pocket behind the logo in the front of the bag as an opening that can allow items to fall out if not properly zipped up. I almost lost my AirPods in that pocket since I didn't have it zipped properly. Another issue I have with the bag is the water bottle holders on the side of the bags. Terrible design as they only properly work if the bag is full like shown in the product photos. If not, there are super loose with no elastic band to keep them tight to the bag. Good luck keeping a water bottle on the ease for easy access, won't happen, I don't know why they couldn't make the water bottle holders deeper and made out of elastic mesh so that you can ACTUALLY use them in 99% of the time. Those are my only gripes with the bag, other than that it is pretty awesome, I have no desire to reach for another bag unless I am looking for reliable, easy and quick water bottle access on the outside of my bag in which I reach for my TNF Recon bag.

Bought the older version with the overlapping front pockets 10 Years ago. Simply brilliant, would change nothing. Bought as my carry on for flights, so needed to organize for up to a two week trip, went around the world 6 times with it. Also has full backpack capabilities. Front two pockets, the little things. Top sunglass pocket, mini kits, sewing, headphones, etc. First big pocket with multipockets inside, toiletries. Main packet, clothes, books. Lappy pocket, ms surface. Perfect design, and still looks like new, nothing broken. Would often have up to 13kg in it.

I already have the previous version and decided to buy this version. It is a liter smaller and has fewer pockets and different lengths of zipper openings. I will definitely use it but for different reasons than I intended to. I will miss the mesh pocket that was on the inside of the large main compartment, and the opening of the main compartment was larger. The design also changed a pocket setup I liked, on the front, there were two pockets that sat on top of each other. One was microfiber lined and the other was polyester lined. This new version is just zipper d shaped opening with two mesh pockets. I still hope for this bag for years to come even though it is very different from the previous version.

I have purchased the Nora Face back pack many time#. Purchased this one as a gift for my grandson who is a college sophomore. This bag replaces the identical back pack I purchased for him when he was a sophomore in high school. The older one is still in good shape, so he cleaned it up and donated it. I feel sure this new back pack will take Matthew into his first years of teaching special education. AND it matches his North Face Jackets - COOL!!!!

The bag is a good size, a little bigger than I expected. It is also a little too heavy for my liking. The quality of the bag is great. It is very spacious and comfortably fits all my son's things for school.

Easy to organize, with a pocket for everything right where you want it. Capacity is good, too- enough but not too much. Seems sturdy, as my teen son is putting it through its paces, using it as both a daypack for hiking and a workhorse for school. Recommend!

A fantastic, lightweight, compartmented, and agile backpack. I use this backpack daily. I have to commute via bicycle and I weight and size were important factors. The lightweight material allows me to pack what I need without worrying about cutting weight. I also like that the bag can expand and retract, allowing to put multiple changes of clothes, books, and my laptop in one bag. Lastly, using this for my commute, I need room to put my lunch and drinks for the day. With the front pouch having compartments and an open area, I'm able to stack my food in there and put my coffee and water in the pockets on the sides of the bag. Altogether, I've used this bag for my intended purpose and have found it to be perfect in every regard.

I use it for work and travel. I have two of the previous versions. The first one was EXCELLENT. Tough material. Great pockets. YKK zippers all around. I mistakenly stepped on the connector piece plastic for the chest strap and it broke. I bought another one. They completely changed the material and reduced some of the pockets in size. Still had YKK zippers all around. This one has string and plastic at the zippers (???) that will undoubtedly break. Why the change?

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
We have 6 of these from various generations over the last 7ish years. It’s the bag of choice for my husband and all the kids. We’ve taken these all over the world. Built to last and can hold so much! This thing gets better with every redesign.
