Shockingly slippery soul. I just tried these on inside on hardwood floors, walked up and down our uncarpeted stairs and was shocked and sliding as I approached the staircase. I was a dancer, snow and water skier for years, so I did not fall. But I would use extreme caution before anyone with mobility or balance issues wears them on surfaces that could be slippery. I don't plan on wearing them in the house - mostly for quick errands and on beach vacations where enough sand is likely to help them have more grit. Also - they are a bit noisy to walk in. They only flex at the toes and near the heel, the middle has fantastic arch and metatarsal support. but because of this, they go "thwap thwap thwap" a bit when walking. Again, I don't plan to wear inside much, but worth considering before wearing in quiet places. I have borderline narrow feet, somewhat pointed toes, and very high arches - so these feel terrific for me. Square toed and wide feet folks might not like. I am 48 and really love the style, that they don't look like little old lady shoes. But I do wish they had grommets with holes in the foot portion for more breathability. I haven't worn canvas shoes since Converse in the 80s because it seemed they made my feet hot, but I got these for coastal California where I live for times when it's a bit too chilly for bare toes so it should be okay. Lastly, the insole and canvas seem to have a funny gap in the heel when the shoe flexes, so I feel it on my heel which is a bit odd. I worry it will fill with sand, but overall, decided to keep the shoe because this kind of fit and great support is so hard to find. Feels like more support than my Birkenstocks, which I swear used to have a high arch option 30 years ago, but no longer does.

These shoes are perfect! My foot is a little on the wider side, so they are perfect for me. The best part about them is the ability to remove the inserts and replace them with my custom orthotics . Taos makes great long lasting shoes.

Very cute shoes but definitely not for anyone with a low instep. These fell right off my feet when I took one step. I as hoping I could insert shoe laces into the grommets to tighten them up but they are decorative only. I really wanted these to work but there was no way I could wear them. (I rated the size True to Size for length only.)

Well, I have seen these shoes advertised and thought another shoe that won't fit. OMG-these are the best shoes! I am now looking for all the different styles TAOS makes. Comfortable right out of the box. Cute! Stylish. Check them out

I wanted these so bad because I’m pregnant and have really high arches. Because of my high arches, I also have a high instep. I could not even get these on my feet because the instep was far too low. If I took the arch insert out, they fit perfectly in every other way, but I bought them for the support. Sadly, I had to return.

I love the shoes. I am a size 9 and my heal are right at the lip of the shoe. Maybe I should have ordered up 1/2 size. Very conftable

Super comfy with great arch support. I have slightly wide feet due to bunions and usually order wide in Taos but wide wasn’t available in this style, these were no problem in B width. Taos has amazing support and cute styles that don’t look like supportive shoes.

I have two pair of the Taos Z-Soul sneakers and I just ordered a third pair of Z-Souls. I really wanted to love the EZ Soul, but I don’t. The styling is super cute. The fit is different than the Z-Soul style. I have wide feet and the Z-Soul width is perfect for me. The EZ Soul seems a tad more narrow. That wasn’t too much of an issue, but I did notice the EZ Soul felt less comfortable on the width. The issue for me was the shoe is designed to be worn without a sock and it gave me blisters. Also there is an inside elastic band in the shoe that helps it stay snug to your feet. Good idea in theory, not so good in real life. I live in Florida so after wearing them for a bit, my foot sweats a little. If I take the shoe off to, say, remove a rock that has found its way in due to the open design, it is extremely difficult to get the shoe back on without sitting down and tugging it on. That doesn’t work so well if you are out walking the dog, etc. I am new to the Taos brand but my Z-Souls have been excellent. This shoe may work for others who feet are on the true medium to narrow side.

Very cute shoes with the best arch support I’ve ever felt due to the removable insole. They are a little rough on the inside with no socks, which is how I wear them and why I gave them four stars instead of five. The heel is a little loose so it slaps when I walk.

Excellent fit and really comfortable - wore them more than I expected when in Hawaii. They are really versatile too - wear with both shorts and dresses.

Love love love these sneakers!! Arch support is amazing, they are incredibly comfortable. They stay on my feet without slipping off, which was my one concern before buying them due to their mule style.

I love this shoe. I love Taos. I love Zappos. Alas, the style just does not stay in place that well on my foot, guess I need a little lip across the back of my heel. But I'll be back, people!

I have many pairs of Taos sneakers. I've never had to return a pair. These, however, did not fit well. They were too long and the width felt loose. the inside of the tongue was rough and rubbed on the top of my foot. I know that if I wore them I would end up with either a blister or raw skin.

I love the look and the feel of these shoes. They’re so cute on my feet. I over-pronate, so I did add my orthotic that I also purchased from Zappos, and it fit in well. No breaking-in period and can wear the, for hours.

I wear anything between 8.5 and 9, the 8.5 was what fit. Very comfortable, have received many compliments on how cute they are. Love them..

The size is perfect. The shoe has great support as well. The inserts are removable so I was able to put my own orthotics in them. I LOVE this shoe. I bought two pair!

Really cute shoe! Very stiff material however so be prepared to break them in for that "full-comfort" feel. Initially felt tight till they softened up.

I really wanted to like this shoe but the main reason i'm returning is that the shoes are just too heavy. The heaviness made it hard to keep on my feet and it was also noisy hitting my feet as I walked.

I really wanted to like these shoes. They had good support and sizing was good. The reason I’m returning is that they were very heavy and they slapped when I walked. I would have to wear no-show socks with these. When I looked back at description it said 11oz per shoe. The weight is too much to overcome for me.

These shoes are very comfortable summer shoes, your feet can breathe in them, the elastic hugs the foot just right so you aren't falling out of them and the foot bed gives you great arch support. The tan color hides dirt fairly well too ironically.

I love Taos shoes. These are really well made, fit my flexible arch perfectly. Slipped on and stayed on. Very cute, but they made that flip flop sound when I walked.

I wanted a spring/summer/fall shoe that wasn't a sandal and no fuss to get in and out of... I chose this shoe for it's ease to just step into and go. Ordered yesterday... just arrived! (Prime shipping)... Well packaged from shipper... The actual shoe packaging is actually very nice and when you open the box, the shoes have a separator and are wrapped so that they are protected... kind of heavy box, which says I'm not about to try on cheapy plasticky shoes! Out of the box... right away I saw the insoles and the arch support and knew I had made a good choice... my high arches suffer in so many shoes when worn as is... If you have more of a flat foot, you may need to replace the insole with something more contoured to your foot. The shoe is heavy in the hand but looks well constructed and of superior quality! I wear a size 9M (US) in most shoes, and it is rare that I need to size up or even down... not overly wide or narrow in either toe or heel... Ordered a size 9M (US), and they are true to size and fit. On the foot... slipped them on, and they fit like a glove! So darn comfortable! A bit stiff being new but they will soften with wear... The description of the shoe indicates that the eyelets are for "decoration", but the top two on each side of shoe can be laced if need be... however, there is elastic inside on either side of the tongue that keep them fitted on the foot. Upon further examination, I would not suggest cutting the stitching to lace up all the eyelets as some have commented in their reviews... that will most definitely compromise the construction of the shoe!! The sole has a light tread and isn't too clunky... I have polished wooden floors and had read that some find the shoe is a bit slippery... my shoes aren't slippery at all! And they don't "flop" when I walk... no thwap thwap thwap noises! hahaha Very pleased with my choice in brand, shoe and sizing! Not a single detail disappoints! ...AND they look very cute!

I really like these shoes. However, the top of the shoe, where the 3 holes for laces are, really stretch with each step so the heal tends to slap up to the bottom of the heal, like old flip flops. Also, because of the design, you won’t be able to add shoelaces for appearance sake. I still really like these shoes.
