Pros: Pockets, including a phone pocket that is secure. Light material Good movement Cons: The liner chafes sensitive areas which is a deal breaker unless one wears underwear beneath the liner.

Love it. But really wish it had a larger pocket/opening to put a phone in.

I have run in Race Ready shorts for 30 years. I tried these for a 22 miler. They were very comfortable and held a lot...but I need even more pockets. No where to put ID and credit card. No where to isolate salt sticks from Gu. Don't get me wrong, they are great for weekdays. They won't be my goto for anything more than a half.

Shorts are very comfortable, the pockets are excellent, keeps my phone in place with little bounce. However I unfortunately cannot recommend purchasing them to do the premature wear in the liner. I am on my second pair in a few months, brooks replaced them free which was great, but the second pair liner is wearing in the same way as the first, as you see in other reviews on here. I really cant imagine how I could be causing the wear, and the fact that it happens to others leads me to believe the liners just have an inherent flaw. Too bad, they are nice shirts. But they only seem to last a couple months before getting significant ware.

Sturdy, yet lightweight. These shorts are part of the reason I look forward to long runs- within .1 miles Im forgetting I have my phone thanks to the shift-proof technology. Wish I would have bought them sooner, I have a second pair on the way now!

Very nice shorts, and I rate them high but I did get them on sale and wouldn't pay full price for them. $72 for a pair of shorts is outrageous in my opinion.

As an avid runner, I've tried numerous running shorts over the years, but the Brooks Sherpa 7" 2-in-1 Short has truly impressed me. Heres why: The comfort level of these shorts is unparalleled. From the moment I put them on, it felt like they were tailored just for me. The inner lining is soft and non-chafing, making long runs a breeze. There's no bunching or riding up, which is a common issue I've faced with other shorts. Whether I'm sprinting or on a leisurely jog, these shorts provide consistent comfort throughout. The fit of the Sherpa 7" 2-in-1 is spot on. They strike the perfect balance between being snug and allowing freedom of movement. The waistband sits just right without any digging in or slipping. It's rare to find shorts that fit well in all the right places, but Brooks has nailed it with this design. The material of these shorts is another high point. It's lightweight yet durable, handling multiple washes without any signs of wear. The moisture-wicking property keeps me dry and comfortable, even on the hottest days. The material also has a pleasant feel against the skin, which adds to the overall comfort. Brooks' Sherpa 7" 2-in-1 Short is a stellar choice for any runner who values comfort, fit, and quality. These shorts have become a staple in my running gear, and I can confidently say they're among the best I've ever worn. If you're looking for a reliable, comfortable, and well-fitting pair of running shorts, look no further than these. Highly recommended!

Nice shorts all around. Like the pockets, and lined shorts, but would prefer a full sized pocket in addition to the phone pocket.

Purchased for the inside lining and the zipper phone pocket, but are exactly what I needed. The compression lining is supportive and the pockets meet all my needs for phone, keys, fuel and more. Im not only tall (64) but have long legs and these fit well. Short enough to feel like my movement is free, but not too short where I dont feel self-conscious showing my entire leg. Definitely recommend.

These are my new absolute favorite shorts, the only downside I see is when when I am dripping in sweat from those long runs or hard efforts, there is a visible color change.

Quality is great. Pocket is perfect. The flaps/openings in the top back I don't understand. I really wish the liner provided more of a defined supportive pocket.

Ive run for almost 7 years now and Brooks shorts are my one real constant. The new version packs in the features I HAVE to have (inner mesh liner, easy access pockets, phone pocket) with lightweight fabric that doesnt bunch or get in my way. Wicks moisture away so I dont get rubbed the wrong way [Dallas Summer running is HOT!]. The new flat waistband is ultra comfortable.

These shorts are awesome as long as you don't have crazy expectations for the pockets. They're super comfortable, the big flat waistband has blown my mind and I will never be able to go back to a normal one. The side pocket does hold safely hold a phone, but there isn't enough compression in the shorts to keep it from bouncing around a lot. I'm 5'7", 135 lbs with decently sized quads and the XS, which is the right size everywhere else, still lets my phone bounce around too much and I end up just leaving my phone home most of the time unless I desperately need it. The other pockets are good for carrying snacks but not much else. Fit: 6 stars, it's hard to wear my other running shorts now. Pockets: 3.5 stars, okay but not awesome.

I love these shorts. The spot for the phone is perfect, the flexible hip pockets are perfect for holding gels and whatnot. I do wish they still had the small zip pocket on the back, so I can put my ID and money in it. I'm always nervous about them falling out of the hip pockets. The main flaw I've found is that the liner tends to get a hole right in the middle . I've had this happen on 3 pairs now, and it can cause issues and be painful.
