The description is WRONG! I bought the boots because the height of the shaft is listed as 13 inches (I am petite). In reality, it is 15 and 3/4 inch - far too tall. Now I have this humongous box to send back - aargh! Otherwise, the boot is TTS and OK looking, but the brown leather is not soft enough, detracting from comfort.

Reviewing the Melanie brown croco print regular shaft boot. I’ve tried hundreds of boots before finding the right one. The measurements are never correct, it seems. I have an athletic calf, probably around 15 and a little at the widest point. They don’t slim at the knee either. Perfect boot would come to just below my knee bend and have a couple cm of room at the mouth of boot. Have yet to find. This one is pretty good though. Fits calf without being tight. Has a notch of elastic that allows for a bit of room. The cut of boot or shape of my leg allows a fraction of room on outside top of boot. Not sure I could wear jeans in the boot but certainly tights or thin leggings. I also tried this boot in wide calf. Cut of boot left room at back of leg as opposed to all around top of boot. Was an odd cut. Had several inches of room at top of boot in wide version. Had to return wide but am pleased w regular calf. Also sized up 1/2 in both boots. Slightly narrow but sizing up helped.

Felt a little snug - leather on the leg is loose and slouchy. Sagged around the ankles. Will be returning.
