This boot is surprisingly comfortable. I have tried other similar boots and found them to be too stiff. The tongue is nicely padded and the "fur" lining is soft and warm. The insole is removable and I had planned to swap it out for a custom orthotic but it is so comfortable I did not do so. This might change in the future, time will tell. I usually wear an 8.5 in closed shoes and the size 39 was spot on. At first they seemed a bit narrow but after wearing them an hour or so they feel just fine with moderately thick socks. I normally wear a med width shoe.

I had these boots in my cart for MONTHS, debating whether or not they were worth the price. Let me just tell you... I work in retail. Half my job is customer facing and as professional (and stylish) as possible, and the other half is stocking and cleaning and climbing ladders. Finding footwear that serves both purposes is next-to impossible. To make it worse, I work 10 hour shifts on a concrete floor and need serious arch support because (i’m told) my feet pronate. Comfort and practicality are paramount for me. I wore these to work a few days ago for the first time. It was their maiden voyage. I ran into a favorite customer and ended up talking to her for almost two hours, just STANDING on the concrete floor, which is usually a guarantee of sore ankles, knees, and feet for the next two days... NOPE! My feet were perfectly fine! I couldn’t believe it. They are SO COMFORTABLE!! Literally the holy grail of footwear for me. I will be purchasing more from Taos in the future! They fit perfectly - I’m always a 10, and the 10 couldn’t fit me better. I even worse them with very thick socks without any problem. The lining is so buttery soft too! LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!

Love these and get lots of compliments. They are easy to take off with the zip on the side and they are really comfortable and stylish! Only con- After a few months a hole appeared in the front! Zappos was great and sent me an exchange at no charge (even though the boots had been worn)! Thank you Zappos!! Still love these boots!!

These boots are amazing! I got the gray brown suede color. They can definitely be worn with black or brown. They are a smoky ash brown gray. Absolutely stunning craftsmanship with arch support! I am between an 8.5 and 9. I often have to size down to an 8.5 in shoes today but ordered the 9 thinking that I would wear thick socks with these. Even with thick socks, the 9 or 40 is a tad to big. I just placed another order for 8.5 or 39’s to see if they fit better. If you are on the fence, buy these! They are a beautiful rugged combat boot style with much more class than a true combat boot.

I love these boots! Beautiful, high quality leather that looks just like the picture, the fit is perfect and they start molding to your foot shape immediately so they are so comfortable. Glad I spent the money!

I returned these because the arch support extends to the metatarsal (i.e. outside part) of my foot. I'm not sure why don't shoes do that, but I find it extremely uncomfortable. Also there wasn't a lot of cushion

The M was too wide for my narrow foot. Having the lace-up feature gave me hope, but a "no go."

These boots are wonderful. I have a size 11 foot that is kind of narrow and I am 72 years old - usually cannot find shoes that fit properly. These are good and very supportive - the heel is a bit too high for my liking, but I'm keeping them because I believe they will be good for my feet.

Love the side zipper & shoestring combo. I wear size 7 and ordered a 38. They were just a bit big which was exactly what I wanted so I could wear thick socks for warmth. Love the distressed look. Perfect for what I wanted, comfortable right out of the box!

I ordered several pairs of boots as I was looking for a rugged, waterproof boot that will keep my feet warm and dry during winter. These aren't them, but they are lovely. I was going to keep them because I really like the way they look, but as others have mentioned, the heel is very narrow and the stitching is stiff, I don't think they will be very comfortable to wear walking long distances. I am sending these back, unfortunately.

Don’t love the stitch accents md a little large around the ankle making them not look as sleek as they could. Very comfortable though.

There is no doubt in my mind that Taos makes the most comfortable and well crafted boots. I own a pair that has lasted many years. The color grey faded over time but the quality is unmatched. I ordered these in my usual 7 1/2 . They fit perfectly even with bunions. Very comfortable. Height felt good despite being a flat boot, and easy to get your foot into. The only concern was the suede holding up. I would have chosen these but ultimately went with the style I was really looking for...a Chelsea boot by Cole Haan. But Taos, you are the best made boots out there for the price.

On my second pair… same boot. Wore the first pair every day for two years wearing them thin. Only boot I’ve ever worn that went on first day until the last.. comfortably!!

These boots are very nicely made. They will fit someone with normal sized heels very well; mine are narrow and these didn't fit as well. The material is sturdy and attractive. The inner padding could be better. The footbed is excellent. I would love to have a few of these footbeds for my other shoes. Because of the issue with my heel, I must return them, sadly. Thanks, Zappos, for making it so easy to find the best fit.

I wear Taos almost exclusivley now becasue of the excellent arch support! I ordered the size they recommended, 37, becasue I wear a 6 in Born, KorkEase, Dansko, Blundstone and in Taos sandals, but the 37 boots were way too big, even with thick wool socks. So I ordered the 36 and they are perfect! Wish I could exchange back my Taos Crave boots for the 36 too but I've had them too long. I might get a second pair becasue these are so comfy and I can hike in rugged terrain and on city streets with ease! Plus they look cool with dresses!

These boots are everything I was hoping for! They're cute, comfortable, durable, and have great arch support. The leather is thick, they are very well made and should last many years. I love the durable, non slip soles and one inch heel which is perfect for standing and walking. The boot's inside is padded and extremely comfortable on my foot and ankle, and I love the padded tongue. I highly recommend these boots!

I love this boot and have been wearing them non stop in all cool weather for close to a year. They are slightly rugged looking, but not as rugged as a work boot. They are perfect with skinny jeans and a flannel or with cargo style leggings. Highly recommend

Comfortable right out of the box. Love the distressed look. Been so pleased with Taos sneakers I have 3 pairs. These are worth the money in my opinion. Comfort is my number one concern re footwear. Love these boots.

My shoe size has always been Size 9 and I have wide feet. After purchasing several Taos shoes/boots I would say Taos runs small and wide. Sneakers: 9W fit but was a little short. 9.5W good length and very roomy toe area. No 9.5W in flowered sneakers and since it was very roomy I decided to try 10. Length ok, width ok, can tell a little narrower but it works. Boots in 10/10.5 fit perfectly. God Bless Taos. I haven't been able to find cute womens for years. The manufacturers are making shoes narrower. I have been buying men's to get the width. I bought the camp boots in grey, blue and curry. I love color

Live Taos shoes, have several pair. Needed some sturdy boots for all day standing and walking, these are up to par. Color is beautiful, the combination of ties and zipper make them easy to put on, and easy to adjust as the feet swell, or wear heavier or thinner socks! Love them and worth every penny. Also, great sole on them for winter wear (snow and ice)

I love the style of these boots with the brushed leather finish. They are very comfortable and needed no breaking in. The zipper makes it a breeze to take them off and put them on. They have a little extra padding around the ankles which makes them feel cozy and warm.

Fit great right out of the box. They might be the most supportive boot I've ever put on my feet.

These boots are beautiful & well made, but did not fit me right. So unfortunately I had to return them. But everything about them, from packaging to color, to inside, is really great.
