The bad: - I wish the top of the boot was a bit stretchier to make it easier to put on and off. It doesn't really have much stretch at all so I have to wear thin/sleek socks to make it easier to put on. - Definitely not as waterproof as expected. I've been surprised a few times now with wet socks while wearing these boots (mostly at the top of my feet by my toes, water seems to soak right in) - I wish there was greater size selection. They're made a bit small for anyone with wide feet so I would have liked to size up to get that little bit of extra space. The good: - These boots are incredibly lightweight! Compared to most winter boots which are heavy and awkward, these boots are so light and not clunky in any way which makes them so nice to wear - The bluish-grey colour is unique and is a really nice change from the typical black or white winter boots - Delivery was insanely fast. I don't even know how it happened but I received mine the day after I ordered them! - They do have good grips on the bottom. I've been comfortable walking on fresh snow and on ice without any concern of slipping. Overall I think it's a great winter boot for everyday wear. I'd invest in better boots if you'll be out in fresh snow that would go over your foot as these make my feet wet but if there's no deep snow and you're just out running errands or going for a walk, these boots are so lightweight and comfortable they are perfect for the job.

The Vaya Powders have Salomon's signature Contrigrip on the soles making them grippy in wet and icy conditions. The lightweight 400g Thinsulate insulation is designed to help keep feet warm, whether you're moving or at a standstill. I've only worn my new boots once and so far I love how warm, lightweight and comfortable they are. There's a protective toe tap, which is perfect for someone like me who's also stubbing their toes on rocks and tree roots. I also love the soft down collar, which is designed to help keep the snow and cold air out. I'd say these run pretty try to size, but I also order a half size up for my hiking shoes because my feet tend to swell.

These boots seem very warm at least for the 20 min I wore them inside. But due to the insole design which has a large lump on the outside of the arch area, these ended up being unwearable. This may just be my feet but if you're someone who finds things like chacos uncomfortable you may also have issues with these.

I've worn these boots in Grand Teton during winter and all my winter hikes in Colorado and never once did I feel any coldness or pain in my feet. This is my go-to boots now for winter hiking.

These are lightweight and incredibly comfortable, but they fit a half size larger than expected. I kept the 6.5 although it felt large because it felt I have more room for sock density variations and comfort in varying terrains.

I am a huge Salomon fan, in fact only purchase Salomon for outdoor footwear. These are comfortable, however the slipperiness is a bit surprising. They don't have the grip for regular walking in an Ontario winter so have defaulted back to my grubby old Quest Prime boots because the tracking is way better. These are good, comfortable and warm winter boots, but I wouldn't recommend them for walking or hiking in anything below 0.

I love the comfort, warmth and style of the boot, but the contragrip technology did not perform well in 34 degree weather while walking the forest trails. They were very slippery and I had to work hard to maintain my balance while walking. I was very disappointed for the money I paid for them. I expected them to give me my monies worth. They didn't!

I got this pair of boots for water protection and general walking, not as a snow or winter boot. (I have another pair of Salomon "after ski boots" for that.) The VAYA is comfortable, a good fit, good traction for most terrain, and look good on. They could only be a 5 star!

I live in MN where we not only get snow/ice but blistering cold temps at times. I needed a good pair of warm winter boots that are good for walking in to take my winter/cold loving dog out. I also have raynauds syndrome so my feet get colder easier than the average person. These were the best purchase I made about 2 years ago. They tick all the boxes for the warmth, great support for walking as well as light (not clunky in the slightest) as well as offer great traction on snow & ice. I'm currently 8.5 months pregnant & still take my dog out feeling confident in my boots as well as my own personal ability despite icy spots at times. Mine have held up great so no complaints on quality. Thank you Salomon for making a wonderful winter hiking/walking boot!

Warm & dry as advertised. Into my second season and still love them.

I originally purchased these to try with my snowshoes and loved them so much. My feet were warm even snowshoeing in 7F weather and deep snow. Also, used them for snow hiking and "running" and was surprised at how comfortable they are. I purchased my normal running shoe size and they were perfect and also allowed for two pairs of socks.

So happy I took a chance without trying on. Fit perfect for my size 5 foot. Warm, comfortable and easy to put on and take off. Great for snowshoeing and just winter walking.

These are awesome. I hike 2 mi a day with my pup and these boots are amazing. Perfect fit right out of the box. Incredibly soft inner (think sleeping bag) and yet very protective outer. Very grippy on snow and ice. Feet stay warm and DRY.

I bought this to do winter walks, it keeps my feet dry and they are very light weight.
