I just wore these boots on their first hike yesterday. I LOVE them. Yes, looks are just as important as quality to me and they are SO cute! My friends love the style and I even got a compliment on the trail! They fit perfectly true to size. They feel amazing! Very lightweight which was a nice change from my Merrells. Very supportive. I like the extra lace loops at the ankle for extra support on my weakened ankles on uneven terrain. They had no problems gripping through mud, over rocks and tree roots, climbing boulders and even navigating the slippery rocks when we waded through a river. Also, they were still just as comfortable and lightweight on the hike back after being soaked! I’m sure their waterproofing would have worked if the water wasn’t up to our thighs. LOL I never take the time to write reviews but that’s how much I love these boots! I’ll be sticking with SALEWAs from now on.

Nice boots but did not provide the ankle support I have been looking for. These would be good for hiking on a clear path or just long distance walking. I ended up buying a pair of Asolos Nilas GV Hiking Boot.

I ordered 7 and 7 1/2 sizes and I am almost always in that size range and have never been able to fit a size 8 as it is always too big. The size 7 was definitely too small, the size 7 1/2 was a little short and narrow for my foot. I have ordered a size 8 to try, because overall I liked the way they felt and they are a great looking boot. The weight was also good. I have a medium foot, not wide, but I may not be their target foot size/shape. Hoping for a good fit with the 8, but have not received them yet, so can't say. Will post a review on the 8 after receipt.

I really love these Salewa hikers but, unfortunately, the 8.5 is too large for me and I have to return them. I am an 8 to 8.5 in most shoes and boots and the 8 probably would have been a better choice. I only wore them briefly on carpet but they felt as though the sole was substantial and supportive, while the height on the ankle was very good for support. I docked one star because the top of one boot put noticeable pressure on my lower leg, something that I can see would quickly become uncomfortable. Might have broken in better with wear. The toe box seemed roomy enough for my poor bunion-afflicted right foot. Because I don't do a lot of extremely strenuous hiking, these boots are probably overkill for me, although they are darn cute and well made. And because they are pricey (but probably well worth the cost!), I decided against ordering the smaller size and am trying an alternative pair of hikers. Might be back to order the 8's after all...we will see how I feel once the alternate choice arrives.

Super comfortable and they look so good! Tried them out on a 5-6 mile hike and my feet felt great. You may need to play around with the lacing to find the right fit. I got compliments on the trail about them.

These boots fit amazingly well, right out of the box. I was nervous about needing to break them in because some other brands like Keene and Merrell always seem to not fit quite right in the toe box for me. These were so comfy. I love how they look too...super cute.

I work in a big box home improvement center. 17+ years I’ve learned that hiking boots are great for durability, support, and safety. These are my FAVORITE boots- they are even cool cool- my customers and fellow employees are always complimenting my boots! The ankles took some breaking in- otherwise they are soooo comfy.

Put these on and they felt great right out of the box, and then did a 2 hour hike in them and they still felt great! Got these for a Grand Canyon trek and will be a pleasure to break them in as I prepare. They're also pretty fabulous to look at while you're hiking.

Clunky and stiff, even after a full season of wear. A truly unsatisfying purchase.

Fit was fine, but something about the way the insole was constructed caused the liner to lift and poke the arch of my feet. Otherwise great looking/ fitting boots
