Definitely feel like the run big/long. I ordered my usual Salomon size and they are long through the toe. That being said, they feel pretty good as they break in. Much less aggressive lugs than Speedcross.

These are my second pair of Salomon XA Pro 3D shoes. I’ve put a couple hundred miles on my first pair over the last two years and although they’re still holding out quite well, I have a hiking trip planned for June and wanted to break in a new pair prior to my trip. I like the arch support they provide, but I also use over the counter inserts on the recommendation of my doctor. For me, these shoes absorb downhill impact quite well and have great traction for hiking rocky-ish (nothing too extreme) trails. I appreciate the roomy toe box and wouldn’t mind a slightly snugger fit around the heel but overall the fit is very good for me. The shoelace grip is a little stickier on this pair than my first and does not slide as easily, but appears to be working just fine so far (China vs Vietnam). I do wish there was a greater color selection available but realize that might be a supply chain issue. Overall, I’m incredibly happy with this shoe!

I'm normally an 8.5. My last pair of solomons X-Mission 3 Trail Running Shoes were a size 9 (I ordered up based on other reviews) and fit well with a little space at the toe. This pair had about an inch of space at the toe. Perhaps Solomon used to run small now overcorrected to be huge? Will probably re-order but not sure if I should get my normal 8.5 or go even smaller since these were so big.

Bought these first in my regular size hiking shoe size and they were huge! Exchanged them for a half size smaller and they were perfect. Took them out for their first jaunt on a 6+ mile hike and I have so say they were perfect. No blisters, feet didn’t ache and excellent traction.

This is my third pair of Salomons - always great quality! But it fits differently. They're all the same size but this one has much more volume. My others are Mission 3 and CrossFit 4. This XA Pro lets my foot slide around inside.

These shoes would have been alright but I have experienced loosening of the laces on my trail running Salomon shoes so I wish to try a different pair of Salomon lace up hikers.

I often purchase Salomon shoes. They fit me well. Good support. This one was just too bright in color for me. I thought Aqua would be more subdued.

This shoe fit. Good room in the mid-toe box and decent support. My problem is when I add my orthodic insole, my heel kept slipping up/down within the shoe when I walked. Sadly I am returning them. If you don't need orthodic insoles you probably wont' have this issue.
I'd also recommend:
Brooks or Acsis

I really wanted to love these shoes to replaced my old Solomon’s but the inside outer seams cuts into my little toe. Sharp looking shoe with toggle closure and very light weight.

Using shoe for everything from biking, running to standing at work on a concrete floor for 8+ hrs. Like the footbed stability combined with flex on upper

Love the color, the fit is pretty good but with the extra hard toe area they are bigger than the mission 3x I typically wear. I've worn them several times and like them.

I have been running in Salomon's for years. This last purchase, which I thought were the same shoe, was not the same shoe. Not the chunky base, but the thing that really bothered me, was the heal slippage. My heal can come completely out. I have the string them down tight. Kind of disappointed. I'm not going to return them, as I live in a very rural arealive and leatn

I started wearing these 10+ years ago, after my niece recommended them as we came off hiking the Resurrection Trail in AK, loved them! Wore them for almost 10 years and finally broke down to buy a replacement/then COVID hit/sat in my closet til we could travel again. Within one month the 'laces' broke/Gerry rigged them but it took repeated stops to tighten laces as I hike. Ordered these/laces look even thinner and I'm constantly cinching them to stay tight! Greatly disappointed to see quality lowered to save a few bucks!

The fit was good. I liked the shoe, but even in the first few steps I was aware that the extension of the sole on the heel changed my step and would result is issues down the road, so to speak. Wish they were didn't have that.

This model of XA PRO 3D felt true to size (unlike a former pair which I ended up donating because they were shorter). I have worn Salomons for over 10 years now and have always loved this model. Until now. I don't know what changes they've made to materials, possibly to try to make the shoe lighter weight, but it detracts from the former comfort level and feel of molded flexibility that this model formerly had. The material also has a cheaper, scratchier feel to it if I can describe it that way. Also, the tongues are very "stuffed" now whereas one of the PROs of the former models were that the tongue was not stuffed, but was thin and integrated. At the top of the lace-up near the tongue, the shoe also has the look of spreading apart - making my foot look too big for the shoe. I have higher arches which the former shoes accomodated perfectly. If I could purchase the former versions for that perfect fit and the best materials on the shoe that I came to love and would not buy any other trail shoe, I would be so happy.

I bought these true to size, and they are really too big. I know running shoes should have some wiggle room in the toes, but I have to tighten them so tight that they get all cinched up and wrinkly on the top. I consistently get blisters from my foot sliding around in there. Really wish I would have gone a 1/2 or even a whole size down, but they can't be returned now that I've worn them :( Please provide more sizing and fit guidance for those of us who haven't owned Solomons before.

At first I really liked these shoes but after wearing them for two days, as they softened a little, the tongue on both shoes was so long it began rubbing against the front of my ankle, actually wearing away the skin. They fit well otherwise and offer a lot of support, so I am sad to send them back, but obviously they aren't going to work.

I have an old pair of Salomons that I really like but they need to be replaced. These were very well made and had a hip look but this was a little to much shoe for me. I do run and I think these would be great for that purpose.

Have an old pair of this model that i've hiked with for over 10 years. Bought this thinking it would fit like a glove. Unfortunately, while it feels good as did my old model, my narrow heel is coming out the back. It seems the company has changed the model sigificantly, and for those of us with narrow heels and narrow feet, we have one heck of a time finding ANYTHING that fits our feet. Salomon, i have your ski boots and have been a loyal customer but can't find any model that works for me anymore. HELP!

these shoes are definitely cute and follow the "gorpcore" aesthetic but the function/comfort of them are absolutely terrible. My heel feels squished and even with my favorite insoles, the shoe still feels terrible. These aren't even comfy to walk in on flat terrain and just after 2 hours, my feet started facing.

I have worn Salomon shoes for years. This style if a bit higher at the ankle than my previous shoes. Caused the tongue to cut into the front of my ankle and overall discomfort for my feet.

I too purchased these looking for a suitable replacement for my X3 Missions that I have been wearing for years. The fit and feel were not only different but uncomfortable enough for me that I returned them. Please, please bring back the X3 Missions!

The toe box was much larger than in the shoe that’s over a year old. Same size, too. Merrell, what gives??
