This is my third pair over several years. The first pair fell apart after strenuous backpacking trip and a years wear. REI replaced. Second pair held up much better and wore out (according to my wife) and she bought me my third pair today. Looks more rugged and very comfy out of the block. A solid product for the price and look forward to pair 4 in a few years.

I wear these everyday. Wether it would be for work or play. Great overall hiking shoe. I do carpentry in New England so these hold up to the natural elements and material on the job sites.

Great for walking long distances in the snowy super cold weather. They are water proof and have a large toe box. Very sturdy shoe and a wide rubber bottom to keep you stable.

Good shoe for a wider foot. High quality but drab appearance which may be good if that is what you want. I had to mail them back because I need more side support for narrower feet.

I REALLY liked this shoe and gave it multiple attempts. I have worn this shoe for years as a daily shoe during 3 seasons and have repurchased multiple times to try and give it a second (and third) chance, but that was the problem as well. I think everything about the shoe was good; no break-in period, comfort, waterproof, look, price, everything except that with the 3 pair I purchased right at about the 1 year mark the shoe would fail. A pair of shoes should last longer than 1 year as all of my others have. The sole never wore out and the shoe felt comfortable than I would notice my sock would get wait. Within days it was develop a tear at the crease area of my little toe. This was disappointing as everything else about the shoe was great and I would've never purchased another shoe in the future. If they can fix this issue and stop this 1 fail point, I would go back to purchasing this shoe.

I have ordered these in the past. The fit is spot on, but the right shoe has developed an annoying click. Seems like some glue did not adhere right under ball of foot. Can only reproduce when walking/wearing the shoes. Otherwise they are great. Returning to exchange for same shoes.

The first time I have run into a less than perfect fit from North Face shoes. Ordered a size 10 which has always been a perfect fit in North Face shoes but this time they seemed like a half size or more larger. Plus the shoe laces were probably 6 inches too long. Returned the shoes and trying a different model to see if the fit is better.

I purchased these with the idea that they would be true to size, they aren't, they were a half size to large. They also feel wider than medium as well so my foot felt like it was swimming in this shoe even with thick socks. I made the mistake of wearing them outside which eliminated my ability to return them, shame on me. The biggest issue that I had even when I laced them up tight was the heal pocket. The heal pocket just felt wrong, there is a seam that runs horizontally across it that made the shoe feel like it would not hold my heal. I love the look of these shoes, just disappointed in the fit and feel. The good news, my father who is 78 and still spends a lot of time outdoors runs a half size larger than me and they fit him great so it was a nice early B-Day gift for him.

I've been wearing North Face hiking shoes for more than a decade (not the same pair). I'm very disappointed with these shoes because they're not at all waterproof. After walking for less than 5 minutes in the rain my feet were soaked. Previous versions did very well in keeping my feet dry. In fact, after my feet were soaked, I turned back, replaced my socks and put on my 2year old pair. I hiked in the rain for nearly an hour before my feet got damp.
I replace the foot bed with a SuperFeet copper, and these shoes become very comfortable and supportive. Sturdy and stable for hiking on uneven ground.
Here's hoping that North Face goes away from, or significantly upgrades the new "Dryvent" Waterproofing.

The insole was the cheapest crap I have ever seen. Shoes from Walmart have better insoles. My heel felt like is was standing on concrete-hard as a rock. A shame since the rest of the shoe was constructed so nice. Would never recommend.

These need work. Rather than producing a high-quality hiking shoe, these are cheaply manufactured, with strips of cloth rather than eyelets. They feel sloppy. I had to add heel-lock eyelets to adjust the fit, and they're better, but I would not buy again. Why not GoreTex? Why the switch to another waterproofing system when GoreTex is the standard? Again, I feel they're cutting costs and they need to focus on quality.

I've been wearing TNF Ultra models since around the time the Earth cooled. Always same size. Always fit perfectly. But not this time. Shoes looked a bit narrower right out of the box (they were), and toe box is especially more narrow than previous iterations. I guess the children making them were having a bad day.

The size and fit of the shoe is fine. One problem, the right shoe squeaks with every step. Only wore them a few times and have never gotten them wet. Cant return them even though they have a manufacture defect. That's called a $125 bummer.

This is my third pair. The first two pair are made MUCH better. These have very visible, shoddy workmanship. I'm keeping them for farm use only.

I've had three pairs of NF Hedgehog Fastpack GTX, the most recent has lasted 5 years. I continue to come back to NF for the quality and durability. The new Ultra 111 WP is a huge transition away from that. Feels cheap, thin, poor support, very thin insert, needs additional eyelets at top. I liked the design however after trying two different sizes and changing out the insert there was no way i could correct the poor fit. I don't think they would last very long compared to the HH FP GTX

The shoes arrived out of the box with dirt/mud deposits and grass on the bottom sole tread. Also, it smelled like some sort of artificial chemical, not sure it that is the manufacturer or I received a product that had been returned by a prior purchaser, which is not supposed to happen! Returning the shoes immediately for refund.

Fit well like all the other Northface shoes I’ve ever had but hurt my feet. This is the first pair of Northface shoes that I’ve ever had that hurt my feet.
