This is a great short to wear around the house, doing a bit of gardening or even running errands here in hot, humid Florida. The fit is a little bit loose, but in this heat that is okay w/ me. I ordered a small & am 5'3" at 123#. I love the deep pockets, too.

I bought these shorts for my wife, and she really likes them. The fit was true to size and the color looks great in person. We bought some additional ones after receiving these.

As described. Great casual short. Comfy and easy care with pockets.

They are comfy but slighly see through. The corange color is definitely just a bright orange. It's not a bad color but it is see thru in spots.

Loved the shorts, but had to return. I went by the size chart, leaning a little on the conservative side, but was very large on me

Good water shorts. The color is a bit too intense for my taste. I'd have probably returned them if I were planning to wear them anywhere other than the water.

I have these in black, so I ordered them in blue. The sizing is off in these. They fit a bit larger then the black ones I have. I would send them back, but you have to pay for shipping so I'm hoping they shrink up a little bit. The color is really nice so that is why I am giving them four stars.

Shorts are comfortable. Nice feel to them. Only problem is they wrinkle easily and wrinkles did not come out after washing per instruction.

I desperately needed new shorts for outdoor activities, so I bought 3 different models of Columbia shorts to try. Happy to say I kept them all, and I like them all, but the PFG Backcast was my least favorite. I compared this one to the Sandy River short and the Bogata Bay stretch short. For reference, I'm 5'6" and weigh 185 with a pear-shaped body. I got size XL. All 3 pairs fit, although they are just barely big enough to wear without pulling across the pockets. Since I'm losing some weight, I didn't want to get a bigger size. The PFG shorts look good, but I don't like the fabric nearly as well as the fabric on the others. It's a little rough, and drags against your underwear. The others are smoother. The fabric on these is also a little heavier, although not so much I consider that a negative. There is no stretch with these. Having said all that, I still like these and will get a lot of wear out of them for walking, kayaking, gardening, and lots of outdoor activities.

The shorts fit exactly as described. Plenty of leg room around the thigh and very comfy.

I am a size 8/10 and ordered a medium, it is a bit too small so I would order the size up, better loose than tight! Otherwise these shorts are great, pockets and a belt loop!

I wanted this color so therefore got this style shorts. What I do like is that even though it's an all elastic waist the shorts aren't that "puffy." I'm not sure why they added the belt loops - wish they weren't there but they are.

Nice shorts that fit my athletic legs (not all of Columbia's shorts and pants do). A bit too bulky in the waist due to all of the gathers. I like the back pocket!

I love Columbia shorts because of their forgiving elastic waists. I am 5'5", 117 lbs and usually wear the XS but not all of the extra smalls fit the same. The XS Sandy River shorts I purchased at the same time as these fit a bit better and don't need to be worn for a bit to stretch them before they feel comfortable. I will keep these though because the Collegiate Navy goes with so many of my tops.

I admit I'm curvy, but even with the drawstring, the waist on these shorts was way too large. I normally wear a size 10 in pants, sometimes a medium, sometimes a large. There was a lot of room through the hips, which is usually not a problem for me. Really good quality, but must return them.

I'm 5'4 145 lbs, slimmer leg area. I ordered the medium. When I opened the package they look bigger but once I tried them on they were fine. Like the length however once I washed them they do wrinkle.

These are great shorts, great price, true to size and comfortable. The negative for me is that they are labeled as water shorts but do not have a liner.

These shorts fit well in my waist but are a little tight around my booty, as well as the leg opening. They fit well enough standing but when I sit or kneel the leg opening is a little tight. I'm pretty petite so I'm a little surprised by the fit. I will probably keep anyway because of the spf protection.

I love the fabric, length, and color choices for these shorts. I purchased a cute windbreaker that matches and I plan on making good use of both this summer. They ran small from my usual size, and on clothes from Columbia it seems to be for all of their clothing. I just ordered up one size and they look and feel great.

A little tight on the thighs, butt and crotch area.. Followed the size guide but I must be the exception. Other than that, they did stretch out a little after an extra hot wash. The material is quick drying but does make a funny sound when you walk lol

Liked the fit and the color but the light green was totally see-through.
