Yes, the ankle openings are small, but I found the boot overall a bit small. Thanks to the easy return process at Zappos, I reordered in a half size larger and these are a keeper. I usually wear a 6.5 in dress shoes and a size 4 in series 500 Blundstones. (See photo for side-by-side photo, both size 4. This pair of 500’s is about a year old.) I ended up with a 4.5. The openings are still tight, but the boot feels more supportive this way. I’m guessing these were sized to wear without socks?

I absolutely love these boots. I'm 5'2", small build, and I have very narrow feet and ankles; traditional Blundstones are way too wide and bulky on me and go up too high on my shins. I ordered my usual size in these and they fit perfectly. They're also more feminine looking, yet I'm still able to go on long hikes in the woods in the fall and trek/run on snowing hiking paths in the winter. And afterwards they transition very well for city life. For all you very petite ladies who always felt that unisex Blundstones look out of proportions on you, give these a try!

Bummer. Wanted to LOVE, but was not to be. Like the higher heeled blunnies I tried, these are way too tight across the top for those with high arches. Back to my 1630's I go. Not as stylish, but SO comfortable, and easy to get on/off, unlike the heeled version.

This was a very cute boot. I ordered my true size and it fit pretty well but one toe bumped the front when I put on a sock. They are good for very narrow feet and small ankles. I found the leather on the front of the boot where it hit my ankle to be very hard and there is no cushioning in the footbed at all. They are on the dressy side for what I wanted so I decided to return them. I was looking for more of an everyday boot with a more substantial sole. These had a more delicate sole with a little heal.

These are great if you want a lower profile Chelsea style boot. Like others said the ankle opening is tight so on and off takes a little work, but once they are on they fit true to size and feel great. I have narrow feet and ankles though, so others might want to consider that. Also definitely require a thinner sock to get on and off. I did have to put some moleskin on them directly below the pull on tabs but I think that is a product of needing it break them in. Very comfortable and warm!

I wanted a more feminine Blundstone and these fit the bill. I had to order a half size up. They fit fine. The ankles are small but I didn’t have any trouble getting them on. However I could tell right away that the way they were hitting my bony ankles was going to be really uncomfortable. I returned and opted for the heeled Blundstones. They are much better, comfortable right away and more feminine in style than my old ones.

Really wanted to keep these but the ankles are very tight - and wasn't convinced due to the elastic, that they would give over time. Note that I have average/small ankles -- so if you have thicker ankles, I don't think these will be for you. Disappointed!!!

Straight from the box they are very uncomfortable. I have a narrow foot, size 7.5. Some shoes size 7 fit better. This is the first time I put on a 7.5 and my big toe is hitting the end of the shoe. Are these supposed to stretch out? I double checked the size on the box and boots. It says 7.5 so maybe they are not put together well? I am wearing them in my home today and will see if they get better. I have a feeling I will return these.

I absolutely love this new style. The boots are not easy to get into, like all my Blundies, but once you're in, they are awesome. Really comfortable and good looking.

It was very hard to get on -- and hurt when I wore it in the house. I'm returning the shoes

This is a beautiful boot did take a 1/2 size up width was fine ...but at the ankle it is very tight

Like everyone else, with the same observation, I couldn’t get my foot into the boot. The opening is so narrow, it was incredibly frustrating as they are beautiful and seem to be well made. I am glad Zappos makes returns so easy, I am not happy that I will not be one of the cool kids with a pair of Blundstones.
