The Vans V16 Slim Denim pant seems to be a fairly versatile pant. I ordered size 28x28. First, the fact that there is a 28x28 and it was in stock is a big plus. The material has a nice feel, being somewhat soft to the touch. And there is just a hint of stretch. The fit around the waist is just what I need in a 28 inch. The description of the pant says the pant sits below the waist. I do not find that to be the case. Rather it sits at the waist. The pants stay in place no matter the moves, which is something I like - I do not like always having to pull my pants up. The one disappointment is the length. These pants are closer to 29/30 inch inseam and measure from crotch to hem 29 1/4 inches. I compare these to Peter Manning jeans; their 28 is precisely the correct length for me. The price seems reasonable, especially compared to something like the Peter Manning denim which currently cost $108 and is also available in a 28x28. I do own a pair from Peter Manning and can attest to their durability. I do not know about durability of the fabric or color at this point for the Vans.
