I have owned many ECCO shoes, so I thought I would try these boots since I needed something waterproof. The zip opening is great because they are easy to get on and off fast. And the sole and insole have the usual great comfort that you get with this brand.
The problem is the toe box. The boots come to a really tapered point, which means your toes get really smashed. I don't know if this is a current style thing, but I would rather my feet be comfortable than have my shoes be really stylishly tapered. It's like they have decided to subject men to the same foot-torture that women have been enduring for years. I thought about trying one size up to see if that helped, but that size was out of stock.

Took a bit of modifying to get a perfect fit, but now is very comfortable. My right shoe felt a bit narrow, but after shaving a tiny bit off the edge of the fairly thick insole foam it made it fit much better and still had plenty of cushion. Also the left boot felt loose at first, I measured and the boot was the same size as the right, it was my foot that was different! My left foot was almost 3/8” smaller from heel to top arch, there’s no way to tighten this type of boot since there are no laces so I added a bit of foam (heel snugs for $5) to the underside of the tongue and now it fits perfect.
The leather feels like high quality. The sole on my other pair of Ecco Holtons show very little wear after 2 years of heavy use so that’s what I’m hoping for in these. No break in needed. The insole has thick supportive foam and leather on top.

The boot had pretty good arch support, which you would expect from Ecco. But they did run a little narrow. And the height of the boot was at a level that made the top of the boot hit the bottom of your shin while you were walking.
