I tried this for an upcoming Europe/city trip as a backup to my more comfortable, less dressy boot. They're beautiful and well-made. Best quality of the Vionic and Clark's pairs I got. The white 'suture'/stitch line, instead of black, I'm not sure how I feel about. Have to return b/c Zappos suggested 9W. I'm usually an average/regular width, 8.5 to 9, 39 or 40 in most brands. These 9-wide are a bit too long. The width could maybe be OK being wide even, but the length looks like clown shoes for me and even with my plantar store-bought orthotic inserts, they're still too big. (The inserts raised my foot so then they were just more snug on-top). If I had luxury of more time, I might try an 8.5 regular width, and a wide, to compare, but no time now. I'm going with the Clark's Verona Gleam in 9, and returning the Vionic Alison's b/c Clark's felt more comfy/sturdy.
