I love these boots. I needed a size 7 wide, but ordered 7 1/2 medium as no wide available. The 71/2 is perfect - wide enough for my feet and boots are so warm I don’t need thick socks. I chose these mainly because I needed a boot that won’t slip too much on ice. These are really great on multiple forms of ice. They do slip a bit sometimes, but even if they slip it’s just a small slip before getting traction. Warm, comfortable and good traction - perfect. Absolutely worth the cost,p.

I never write reviews….but this boot deserves it! I have tons of ankle, knee, and foot issues + I love to go walking. Living north of Chicago, needed something with good grip, decent support, yet still lightweight and warm. These are a dream come true! I may order them in more colors!! I read the reviews and ordered a size up, which was perfect for me. I can still wear them comfortably in my thin wool socks or my super thick ones. Just the right amount of support for each of my sort of wide feet (I am close to flat-footed on one foot). Perfect ankle support but not too tight. Insulation helps w longer walks in the northern cold! And the boot still breathes well. I was running errands, walking around for 1.5 hour+ in these and could have gone longer. Usually, I am constantly slipping - BUT not in these! Can also drive easily. The side zipper is handy if you are wearing bulkier socks or don’t feel like loosening all the laces. Boot works with all styles. I am thrilled that I finally found a boot that works for me!

From the first moment I slipped into them (easier because of side zipper), I felt like I had been wearing them for years. There was no "break them in" period. I struck out to hike with my dog in the forest after a rain. There was no slipping on wet leaves, no worn spots that developed blisters, no cold toes (after two hours), no looking down and thinking, "These are really kinda clunky" and no sudden slips where my ankle turned. They weren't so heavy that they bothered my knee either! I just have praise and more praise and gratitude to Merrell for consistently keeping my flat feet from aching and my knee from flaring up. They look sturdy, but the fur edging is a nice feminine touch and the fact the shape of the sole/heel keeps it from looking like an overgrown platform is so appreciated. This is the boot for you...I'm just sayin'.

These boots were comfortable from day one. Easy to get on and off. And most importantly, had great traction and let this Southern girl walk with confidence (and safely) across the ice and snow of the Colorado mountains.

Stiff. Never worn. Beautiful design and color. I really love Merrell products!

Even with the side zipper I had trouble getting them on - Didn't keep

I usually wear a size 7. These were too big and I needed to size down at least 1/2 size. The size I needed is not available so will not be reordering. Super cute. I needed to untie each time I put them on and took them off. The zipper in the side was not beneficial.

I haven't had a chance to wear them outside yet, but they seem very comfortable walking around the house. The sole seems a bit stiff but has a good grip quality. I think they will be just what I need to keep my feet warm in the cold Idaho winter weather.

So Disappointed that these boots did not work for me. The fit was FINE for my narrow heel, high arch & wide toes. I might even have been able to go down a 1/2 size. BUT: the edges of the leather rubbed against my shins (towards the outside of the shin). Not sure - by maybe there is trim sewn on to the leather (that I could NOT see?). When I felt the edge with my fingers: it did seem stiff. Now that I have gotten older: I have sensitive feet and "bony" feet. I need to err on the side of caution as it seemed to be a potential problem. Too bad - because this boot seemed like a great boot for winter weather!!
