It says the shaft on these boots is more mid calf than knee high...mid calf was not what I was looking for, but I thought I’d try them anyway since they didn’t look mid calf in the pics. In reality: these are knee boots, seventies style. I’m 5’6 and they hit me an inch and a bit below my knee. They have a boxy shape from the side, which is way better for skinny legs than that “curvy” leg a lot of mid/low priced boots have that seem intended for women with Herculean calves. They’re comfortable and waterproof. Nothing not to love here. Get them!

These boots are fabulous! They are stylish and classy-looking, but the rugged sole and waterproof leather makes them so practical. I have slender legs, so I love it when I see reviewers complaining of narrow calves. ;) I had no problem getting these on and off, and the thick, structured leather means they hold their shape and don't flop and slouch once you've gotten them on. I typically wear an 8.5 and I own several pairs of Sorel boots, some in size 8 and others in 8.5. In these, my foot moved around quite a bit in the 8.5 with thin to medium-weight socks, so I'm exchanging for an 8. Very comfortable. The leather-wrapped heel looks fancy, but the sole is nice, cushioned rubber that absorbs shock and feels great.

I was a little reluctant to order these boots based on a few of the reviews that said they were to tight in the calf and really hard to get on an off. I don't have small calves but I don't feel mine are large either; I would say they are average. I'm 5'10 and ordered the size 11 (this is my usual size) and they fit great. I didn't have any problems getting them on or off. I absolutely love them!

Great boot for petites due to short shaft height!!! I bought these b/c I am 5'0", 120lb and finding knee height style boots with a shaft that doesn't hit me in the middle of my knee cap has been next to impossible. That being said, I'm normally a size 5 and can do 5.5 in something like a boot that won't slip esp if it runs narrow as my feet lean toward wider. I couldn't even get my foot into the 5, it was so small, my foot couldn't turn the corner to slide into the foot area. I was going to try the 5.5 but it was sold out so I went with the 6 since I was so excited about the low shaft height! These are great for me- there is prob a little more room in the foot than I need but not like I'm sliding around and with a thin sock it's fine. My only other piece of advice is that this is not a good boot for bigger calves- I don't have big or muscular calves but these are snug on me if I'm wearing tight skinny jeans inside of them, but fit awesome if nothing on my legs or tights. They're Sorels so the sort of chunky informal style heel was expected, but it does limit their wear to more casual outfits- I'd be fine wearing them with a pretty casual skirt/dress, however. So happy to find a shorter boot!

I normally wear a 9 1/2 so that's what I ordered and it fits perfect! They feel great and they look great! Other reviewers complained about it being too hard to get them on and off and I'll admit I can't just slide my foot into them but I don't feel like it's so hard that I don't want to wear them. They fit well around my calves. Loose but not very. I don't have very skinny calves but they aren't really big, either. The boots themselves are very good quality, water proof and have good tread. They don't hurt my feet. The heels aren't high enough to feel like you're walking in high heeled shoes, but are tall enough to be stylish. I can wear them with jeans but if I wanted to wear them with a skirt I think it would be very cute. They were pricey but I think they are worth the cost.

I ordered a full size larger because I have bunions, thus wide feet. Perfect fit, and they are so beautiful. Love the two tone color.

These boots like all I have from Sorel are the bomb. So many tall boots are too wide in the calf for me; these are perfect. No problem getting them on and off, and I can walk in them all day. Got them in brown and black and would order any other color they offer!

I have been trying to find the right boots to replace my Sorel Torontos. I’ve finally found them! These are very cute and (as with every pair of Sorels I have) super comfortable from the first wear! I would prefer them to be a bit taller - I’m 6’ and they hit a little above mid-calf as the pictures show. I don’t have significantly large or thin calves, and these fit perfectly. I am generally a size 10, but like my other Sorels, I ordered a 10 1/2 and wear them with normal cotton boot socks or thin wool/cashmere on cold days.

Hard to get on at first but once they are broken in it is easier. Very cute and comfy.

These were just what I was looking for. I have short legs so these hit me about on inch below by knee. I also have skinny calves so they were perfect. If you have large calves I would not suggest these. There is a 3 to 4 inch zipper near the ankle of the boot so you definitely have to slide your foot all the way in. No zipper that goes all the way down. They are comfortable and waterproof and look great with jeans.

Wow...this is my new favorite boots. Good thing i listened to one of the review that it fit true to size. The circumstance is right for me a little bit snug but i still can wear leggings and skinny Jeans. Unfortunately if you're going to wear a Jeans and leggings you cannot wear a knee high thick socks. I don't have a problem of wearing socks i can wear a short socks. I don't have a problem taking off the boots also even if the zipper only half. Very comfortable.

Love these boots, despite the fact they arrived with minor scratches on the leather toe. I am usually a size 9.5 but sized up to a 10. I think after reading as many reviews as I did for Sorel, it's safe to say sizing up a half size is fairly standard for all of their shoes. Plus, with a boot like this I figured I would be layering a sock. I put them on and immediately was blown away with how comfortable they were. Happy with this purchase but I definitely recommend giving them a full inspection to make sure they haven't been messed up by somebody else!!

Based on the reviews I wasn't sure whether to order these. I love the style of them though so I decided to try them. I am 5'3" and these are tall but not too tall on me. I have to be careful with shaft height - many tall boots make me look like I am standing in a giant's boots. These hit just below the knee - but when I sit down they do not hit me in the back of the knee (which is a sign they are too tall). The color is a beautiful rich chocolate brown - which goes with everything. and I love the detail line across the toe box of the boot. I am a size 7 and the 7 fit perfectly with medium width feet - there is room for a thin to medium weight Smartwool sock. I love stack heeled shoes but usually get pain in my toe joint/ball of my feet from them - these are somehow a stack heel without feeling like a high heel. I would highly recommend these - they are lovely. Can be dressed up or worn every day.

I love these! They are not too rugged, not too fancy, and will go with everything. They are super comfortable and can be worn all day no problem. I have pretty slender, narrow feet and am usually a size 38/8 and these fit me well in a size 7.5, as with most sorel boots. The leg shaft is still slightly wide on me as I have really small calves but they are so sturdy that they don’t slouch or look sloppy. I would highly recommend these for winter.

These boots are gorgeous and true to size. Unfortunately if you have larger calves or even athletic calves, they won't fit you. They have the dreaded half zipper that's just on the ankle so they are tough to get on and off. Then when they are finally on, they squeezed my calves too much to be comfortable. Had to return. I am 5'2" and they went almost up to my knee.

Looked great, loved them, but they ran to narrow & somewhat short.

This boot falls into the category of boots that has a short zipper on the inner side of the boot, which is always a problem for me because my high arch makes it very difficult to get the boot on. I found it nearly impossible to get this boot on with a sock; I could only get my foot in with no sock which is not what I want to do. Once I did get it on, it felt a little sloppy and slipped on my heel (probably would have been OK if I had socks on). I ordered my usual size, and I would say it's probably true to size with socks on, yet, it's too small to get on with the side zipper. The boot was pretty stiff as well, so that was not comfortable. The styling is cute (though I was hoping for a higher heel). I ultimately returned the boots. I have quite a few pairs of various Sorel shoes so I was disappointed this didn't work out.

Love these boots. Wore them six hours the day I received them -- very comfortable, didn't need to break them in.

Went up 0.5 size and fits well with winter wool socks. Comfy and warm even without a liner. Good for thin calves, height comes to just below knees. Love that they are waterproof and that the style can be dressed up or be casual.
