I have put these shoes to the test in the very harsh Australian environment. Today i just did 28 river crossings in a 42k trail run. Steep fire breaks, mud, rocks, slippery terrain due to recent rains...they felt comfortable and didn't give me a single blister like other trail runners might do if I go for 30k + runs. The shoes drained water without a single issue while maintaining comfort and stability. Very few shoes do that. It's sitting at the top of my favourite trail runners at the moment as I rotate them with several others I have from La Sportiva brand.
Well done Salomon! :)

Hands down my favorite shoe for stormy wet weather is Speedcross and this shoe is complementary for any other time. For compact and rocky trails, this shoe has protection like Speedcross but without the deep lugs that occasionally trip me up. It's excellent for clocking miles on the Pacific Crest Trail and gives great traction equally on rocky slopes and bouldery river beds. I finally tossed my hiking boots this year. These do everything I need for trail running and backpacking and are so comfortable.

Excellent grip in variable terrian and felt great after long (12+ hour) days... so much so that I ditched my camp shoes halfway through because these are so light, breathable and comfortable. Dried out faster than any shoe I've had. 6mm drop takes a bit of getting used to, put additional stress on achilles/calf but that's to be expected. They held up pretty well, though they're probably close to the end of their life and it would be nice to see them last a bit longer than a two week thru hike. All in all they handled everything I threw at them and more.

At first I felt that the upper part of the trainer was a little stiff but after a couple of muddy runs they have shaped themselves to my foot

Great shoe for Alpine running, or hilly rocky terrain. Shoes are lightweight tread grippy, even on wet loose rocks. Like the style and color. They were worth the wait. If anything, they could be a tad wider.

I love these for rocky terrains and runs that include a lot of rock or scrambling. Not my first choice for running smooth trails (although not uncomfortable) just because of the transition feel of the heavy outsole rubber but they are perfect for rocky terrain. Outsole provides excellent traction and the heel feels good on loose descents. Also comfortable under a pack while backpacking. Excellent shoes for those conditions.

Fit seems pretty standard. Wider than my Lab 2's. I have wide feet and these are snug but comfortable. I've worn them about a dozen times hiking in various terrain and they've held up well. Durability doesn't seem to be an issue. They are light, breathable, and my feet feel great after long days on the trail. There is also lots of traction and the sole firm enough to provide lots of support when things get rugged. Overall I'm very pleased with this show, and Solomon's customer service is top notch.

Update folgt.

I bought these shoes for my son who is a cross country runner. First time he wore them, he commented on how comfortable they were. He runs both trail and road and these shoes seem to fit the bill! Very light and well constructed.

These are awesome scrambling shoes and have great grip on all surfaces. They lock my foot in place while running down hill. So far they have held up well.
I will update as wear and tear occurs. Hopefully they hold up well. If they do they will be my new favorite.

Arguably my favorite mountain shoe ever. The tread is an excellent design for traction and rock scrambling. The mid is much stiffer than any of my other Salamons which, while different at first, endeared itself to me due to its outstanding protection after miles on the trail. The tongue and cuff are more padded which is also great at distance and the protection of the toe box is top notch. If you run long trails get these.

This shoe has been a go-to for me, especially for more technical days. The midsole is more firm than my other Salomons and does an excellent job of protecting and supporting me on aggressive terrain. The reinforced to cap has saved my toenails more times than I can count. It feels a little overbuilt on fire road but is ideal for the rugged Northeast trails.
I'm a size 10 across the board and found these to fit perfectly.

These are fantastic. While the SLab Alpine 2 might be the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn, they can be too warm in the summer. As fit goes, these are a close second. They are, essentially, the SLab Alpine 2 but without the gaiter. That makes them much more comfortable in the summer. They still have just enough cushion for all day adventures and enough structure/stiffness to keep your feet from getting fatigued on technical terrain. Any day I can put these on is a good day!
