So I have been buying shoes for crews for over 20 years and have loved them in that time. However I must admit that I feel that they are not made as well as they used to be. I buy the high top boot style for ankle support and comfort. When you get them they are wonderful, but being in a busy kitchen environment they just don't hold up like the used to. I used to get 3 years out of them and now I'm lucky if I get 1. The plastic leather does not hold up and the shoe cracks on the top where the big toe bends. Also the back heel material wears away quickly and then the plastic heel support starts to disintegrate and then break away. The pull up strap stitching inside the heel becomes very uncomfortable after that. Please don't get me wrong I am just pointing out the weaknesses of the shoe. I'm still going to continue to buy them. Just making the point that things are not built to last and now even less. Hope this gets to the right people so they can make adjustments.

I Loved the look of the Boot, the reason I gave a low rating on look is that just like everyone else here; The leather started to peel off from the front about two to three months of little use (steel toe one) while the soft toe I previously had lasted an entire year before starting to look really worn off.
On the other hand, the comfort of it is amazing (my feet never get tired) and are truly waterproof. However, the downsize of that is that nothing can get inside this shoe (water, snow, etc..) which means air does not go thru either making it a perfect shoe for sweaty feet.
I work in a freezer year round and my feet would sometimes get sweaty. I cannot imagine other people wearing this on a hot environment, let a lone a kitchen.

I bought the show because it says it has a a steel shank. I received them and the soles are able to bend in half. This does not happen in other steel shank shoes. Can you please explain to me if these have a steel shank or not.

These shoes fit fine after breaking in and are true to size. Only issue was the shoes have a blue dye that has stained my feet. Would not recommend because of that

My husband loves these shoes. He spends 16-18 hrs a day on his feet at work. The shoes are easy to break in for comfort. He has gone through at least 6 pair of these. The last pair purchased began to peel after just 3 weeks of wearing them. It seems the quality of the material has diminished. He wants to continue wearing them but if they keep breaking down so quickly we can't afford to purchase them.

I bought these boots in March 2018 along with another pair. I rotate between 3-4 pairs of boots. It didn't take long for the leather to peel off. By the time the leather pealed off it was past the guarantee date. The guarantee isn't what it used to be either. Still comfortable but what does that matter if they look terrible and can't wear while in uniform. I did notice that it's not real leather. Real leather doesn't peel, you can see the backing behind the thin pleather. I've owned many leather shoes and boots over the years and I have never seen real leather peel away.

I miss the legionnaire. After SFC eliminated it I tried the Rowan. Terrible fit for a wide shoe. Uncomfortable and the sole is to hard. I always buy insoles for extra comfort since I at times work 16 hour shifts and constantly walk on hard tile floors, but with the Rowan 12-wide being so uncomfortable there is no room for the insoles.
I started buying SFCover 30 yrs ago and have been very satisfied. Your product isn't wide foot friendly anymore and needs to stay safe in a very slippery environment such as the food service.
I also used to purchase the hiking boot. Don't remember the name off hand. That was another shoe I miss.

Leather is peeling away after only a few months. The rubber sole is peeling from the body of the boot, the laces catch on the hooks/eyelets and shred.

This was my first attempt at finding a good boot. They felt nice; but the leather cracked within 3 months of getting them. I'd look past these.

I bought the boots for work. The first issue is the lace hooks. They have sharp edges that damage the laces. Some of the lace hooks had metal coming off. I had to file them smooth. Second issue is the surface area around the toe is begining to tear and flake away.I've used them only five months. Poor quality, not durable.

I have read several reviews and they all nail it. These are cheap and not durable and don't last nearly as long as the one they replaced. Bring back the other style or send this back to the drawing board and fix it. Please!!

Started off the most uncomfortable. Usually these work boots take a maybe 3 days at most to be comfortable, these were basically a foot torture chamber for a good month. Just miserable. Then, after they were finally comfortable, they fell apart in the 2nd month. And the bottoms just suck up all the bits of everything on the floor making them super slick. This after they used these to replace the best shoe they ever made.

Top of both shoes around toe started peeling at around 5 months. Embarrassed to have store employees and customers see them.

Only wear these shoes once a week and they are falling apart already after 6 months. These shoes should not be classified as water resistant.
