Customer Reviews New Balance Fresh Foam Zante Trainer

These are my new favorite shoe. Super lightweight, comfortable, easy to walk in. The only thing I've noticed so far is that after wearing them all day, there is very little breathability and the shoes do smell like feet, despite the "Fresh Foam" that they advertise directly on the shoe. I skipped wearing them today and alternated to a different pair of shoes, Asics, that I bought along with these NB's. The shoes actually do not stink today (just gave them a sniff test), so perhaps that Fresh Foam works after all. I wear them for daily use, as well as to the gym when I'm not doing a cardio day. If you wear low cut socks, and they slide down a little bit, the back of the heel is form fitting and will rub on the achilles and cause a blister, at least on me. I do find myself regularly pulling the back of my socks up to ensure this doesn't happen. Not a huge deal, and I could wear taller socks, but I dislike that. As far as the width and length, I broke both feet several times throughout my time in the infantry, and I lost a lot of my arch and ended up widening my feet from what they were. I typically have to go up half a size (to 11) from the actual length that I need in order to make up for this if the shoe doesn't come wide. These fit me perfectly in both width and length in size 11, when I normally order a size 10.5 or 10.5W, so be aware of that. They are very flexible though, so it could just be that they aren't tight like a shoe would be that is made of leather, as these are a cloth sort of material. Where my big toe sits in the shoe though, I'm not sure they would be as comfortable for me if my foot was another 1/4" longer.

The two side lace openings rub the side of your feet and ruin the shoe. Some one didn't try these on first. Poor design.

I like these shoes. The length is good but could be a little wider even though I ordered the EE. The top material is a slipper fit and stretches enough that the width won't be a problem. I lifted at the gym today and the soles were nice and stable.

I liked the color and style of the shoe. I use them for workouts, lifting and walking. They fit well and are comfortable.

I really like the fit of this shoe. Extremely comfortable and really lightweight. Good cushion, excellent lacing.

Great shoe for driving, errands, airport.

Shoes came in quick! I was expecting them by the end of the week since I ordered over the weekend, but they came in about 2-3 days ahead of delivery date provided. These are the MOST comfortable shoes I’ve ever purchased/worn. The comfort combined with the style makes this a worthwhile purchase!

We ordered Wide and fit like a normal width shoe

The shoes fit well. They look great. The support is somewhat lacking. For a New Balance shoes this was surprising to me. I have big feet and New Balance shoes have always kept my feet with their issues comfortable and supported; except for this pair. I think it's the foam. If you don't have feet troubles this could be your new gym shoes. If you have issues with your feet, maybe don't get the foam. The support is not great. Otherwise, this is a good pair of sneakers.

I ordered 2 pair of the same shoes and both had the same problems. Underneath the toe area, there's a piece cardboard that runs around your big toe,its a design or material defect, I think they used cardboard material around the tor area however its vented and weighted down on your toes.

He loves them. So comfortable and light. Makes a great everyday walk around shoe for sure.

Decent shoe for training/working out

These shoes are extremely lightweight. I like that they don’t need to be broken in, they were comfortable from the first time I put them on. They feel a little spongy in the heel but are comfortable.

Wish it had a bit more lateral support for agility type drills. Pretty cushiony for a trainer!

Toebox is a bit wider than expected, especially in comparison to the Zante running model. It’s still really comfortable and great for working out.

Ordered extra wide and the toe box has plenty of room, but tight around the mid-arch and not enough arch support (I have issues with pronation, so I always look for extra arch support). The shoe is very light, almost to the point where I wonder how strong the material the uppers are made of is and how long they would last from heavy use. Returning because of the lack of support, so I won't be able to test it out.
