Horrible shoes!! I have worn this style for years and years and always just reorder them from Zappos when I need a new pair. I use them for trail running, hiking and training. Unfortunately this new version is horrible!! Most uncomfortable shoe ever. They are hard and offer little to no arch support! I had shooting pain across my foot minutes after trying them on. I don’t recommend them at all. I don’t know what ASICS has done but after this I will not be trying ASICS again.

I, like another reviewer, ordered a size larger than my normal shoe size. I don't think my custom insoles would have enough space even doing that. My ProSteps are much lighter/thiner and doing a good job for me. I too have worn Ascis for years. I had a serious ankle/foot injury some years ago and have a very difficult time finding shoes with enough room in the toe box and enough cushion. These are doing the job for me. However....what is up with the short laces? I have to tie a square knot becuase they are NOT long enough to tie a 'bow'.

I like the GT trail line because it provides good traction in the areas I run. I have to stick with the GT shoes because they are a bit higher in the back and provide me with more support. The GT 2000 7 are a bit roomier than the previous 6s.

So glad i decided to try the Asics Trail shoe. They're a bit stiffer soled that I'm used to, but I imagine that is by design. Asics take a while to break in, always have for me, at least. I trade them out for my older ones mid-day. I rely on Asics for support and comfort as I am a caregiver. My clients always comment about the bright colors, too, so they're fun. I do use orthotics, and I have to order a half size up in Asics. Overall, very comfortable and stable.
I'd also recommend:
Saucony, Naot

I have worn the ASICS GT series for years now. This trail version is a bit smaller/ narrower than the road version but not enough to change sizes. I put in a lower volume arch support and this helped deepen the heel cup (with a regular one it was too shallow). These are not crazy trail shoes this making them a nice road/ light trail hybrid.

As with other ascis I have to order a 1/2 size up. But these were well padded and comfortable. Great for hikes and trail running.

Love these shoes! I got a half size larger, took out the insoles and put in my sport orthotics. They fit perfectly. I have been wearing them for 4 months plus many, many miles of walking throughout a 5 week vacation. I just ordered an extra pair so I can have a nicer pair for the gym and one I don't mind getting dirty. Excellent quality and they look great too.

This is a great trail shoe! I usually wear a 7 but got a 7.5 based on reviews and it fit perfectly! I already wore them on a 5 mile hike and they felt amazing.

Fit actually as expected, not wild about the color but the comfort and support made up for that

Love these shoes. I mainly use them for when I go hiking. I would highly recommend these especially if you have a wide foot.

First time buying asics. I love them! I am in my GT-2000 7 Trail all day, they are super comfortable. Took a 4mile hike last weekend with zero uncomfort. would buy again.

Amazing, cute, comfortable shoes. The green is a very natural green that looks good when dirty. Took these hiking in Yosemite for a 5 hour hike and they didn't need breaking in, kept my feet comfy all day. Wore them again the next day. I ordered a half size up. I'm normally a straight 7.5 but had to go up to 8 and these still fit pretty snug. Would highly recommend for a basic hike.

Great trail running shoes! I use them almost daily for running or walking on gravel. They fit true to size and we're comfortable from day one. I've been wearing them for almost 5 month and very satisfied with a quality.

My feet like the Brooks Adrenaline GTS and I wanted to try these for walking and running on loose gravel- so far they are great! I wear a 9 in both.

It makes such a difference to have a supportive shoe! I am a serious over-pronator, and as I got back into my enjoyment of long-distance running recently, I was noticing how bad it was getting- mostly manifesting in my knees. I decided that it was time for me to get a seriously supportive shoe that might help correct this- or else I would be risking my knee health and ability to keep running. The sneakers I was using were standard- not targeted at over-pronators, so I guess it's not the best to compare, but I do have to say the feeling of stepping into these, compared to the old ones, was SO noticeable! I instantly felt like my foot was positioned and held better, and then when I stood up, I seriously felt more balanced, and like there was a significant amount of pressure taken off of my knees. Running in them has been great- I'm still breaking them in but my running-induced knee pain has decreased significantly. Overall, I feel much better and very supported in these. The soles are super solid and I plan to use them on hikes as well.

These sneakers are so comfortable and make me feel like I'm walking on air. Lately I've been having a lot of pain in my feet, but I managed to make it through 9 hrs with little to no pain while at work.

I absolutely love the normal GT2000 7 but I tried the trail version this time after seeing that most people said that they just have a bit more grip on the bottom and some other minor differences. I agree and LOVE them! Also love that the color is unique (I got the green). They are true to size for running shoes (I'm a 9 in normal shoes and get a 9.5 in running shoes). If you're in between, I would go a half size up (I could have pulled a 10 off in these).
