I struck gold by buying these. I've been looking for and ordering (and returning) Chelsea-style boots on and off for several months, and when these arrived, they were magic. They fit immediately (size 9, same size as my Cole Haan Chelsea boots) and the style is simple and sleek with a couple of nice touches with the ridge in the front and the zipper on the back. This is my first pair of John Varvatos boots. While the price is outside of what I would typically pay, it's worth it. The one thing that bothers me is I've slipped three times today walking around my office due to the smooth heel — docked a star for this. I'll pick up anti-slip rubber pads to address the slipping. A smaller thing that I'll get used to: The back zipper makes a sound when it hits my boot when walking. Either I'll get used to this or I'll put something on the zipper to mute the sound. I'm happy I found these boots.

This versatile boot can be work casually or with business attire. I get compliments every time i wear them.

I usually wear a 10.5 in shoes, but smaller in boots. This size did the trick!

The boots are great. Fit is true, materials are excellent and the look is fab. I have to remove one star because the heel material is super slippery on the office terrazzo and I’ve almost wiped out a number of times on my first full day wearing the boots. I need to find a shoemaker to help mitigate the slipperiness.

Never could get a size that fit. At the lowest size where I could get my foot in the boot, there was at least 1.5 - 2 inches of space beyond my toe. :-(
