These are beautiful boots! The leather is extremely soft, the heel is comfortable and the color is a nice neutral (these are brown with a slight rusty tinge, exactly as pictured). I could see these being worn with jeans and maxi skirts/dresses with ease. Alas, I had to return them. Why would I return a wear-with-anything, well-constructed, high-quality boot, you ask? The fit. Oh... the fit. I have tried to have a love affair with a couple of Pikolinos boots now and I seem to have an in-between sized foot (I am a 10 usually, and I find in European sizing I am solidly a 42 for some reason). I, and my Goldilocks feet, tried a 41 and it was too tight, and then a 42, and had too much room all the way 'round even with thicker socks.

These boots are GORGEOUS! I am just struggling about which ones to keep! Didnt expect to love the black AND the "cognac" color. - YIKES!!!! Fit TTS. I am a 7 1/2 and size 38 fits. SOOOOOOOO comfy.

This boot really is beautiful but sadly my ankle and leg was just too fat. Hated to return them but I'm sure I can find another Pikolinos that will fit me.

I loved this shoe and only returned it because I decided to keep a different one that was a similar style. If you’re between two sizes, definitely go with the bigger one. I have a narrow foot and usually wear a size 9. The 40 was a prefect fit.

I have very difficult feet to fit- bunion surgery and all... and these boots check all my boxes. I tried on countless boots this season and amazingly these fit perfect in every spot. Didn't even have try on the other 2 pairs I ordered. So comfortable/cushy in the toe, not too tall, great width, clearly well made, simple yet stylish. Will definitely buy this brand again! Don't be hesitant to order online.... the price is worth it! (I half sized up 9.5-10)

Soft, beautiful leather. The color, (I got Cuero), is gorgeous. I have already received so many compliments. These are going to be my go-to when I need to wear more than a flat. Jeans, dresses, crop pants - they will go with so many things. Worth the money.

This boot deserved a 5 Star even though I returned it. Excellent quality and style as usual with Pikolinos, my fave of all shoe brands. Just a little too clunky for what I wanted to wear it with. Thank you again Zappos for your excellent service and patience with picky feet....

Cute, practical boots. True to size (don’t order 1/2 size up for socks). Well made. Good cushioned sole.

I love the look of these boots, they are exactly what I wanted. Sadly, I am a size 8 and the 38 was too small. I did not try them in a 39, as they were very close to fitting in length and I thought the 39 would be too big (8.5-9). Will keep looking, very sorry to have to return these beautiful shoes.

These boots are remarkably stylish and beautiful! Unfortunately, the shape of the footbed is wrong for me. The look of these boots is so exceptional, I tried very hard to make them fit. I ordered three different sizes and none of them worked! 99% of the time I wear a 10, so I ordered the recommended 40. It was too small, my big toe pressed against the inside toe box. I then ordered a 41, which according to the size guide should have been too big (but actually fit the best of the three sizes), but it had a similar problem in that the inside of the toe box was too narrow and was pressing my big toe /metatarsal area. In a last-ditch effort I ordered a 42 which had the identical problem as the other two pair. The 42 was clearly too big for me but the inner part of the toe box was so abbreviated it pressed my big toe as well. Also, the 42 that was sent to me seemed to be worn for a month by someone and then returned, they were very broken in and the packaging seem to have been opened by someone before. Too bad, I really wanted to own these boots, but in the end they all went back!

For over $200, these had to be fabulous. They didn't meet my requirements so they were returned. I ordered up since my usual size was gone and I own a pair of Pikolinos boots and they run small. However, the size up was still too small, too tight. Didn't have decent cushioning so they were pinching my feet, and the heel is about a quarter inch too high. Beautiful color though!

For style I want platforms with a some heel. It's fun to be TALL. This is shoe nirvana. The leather & stitching is beautiful, inside and out. My size is US 9, in this boot I needed to exchange the 39s for 40s.

My review is biased as Pikolinos is my winning brand of shoes :-) These boots are my 4th pair of Pikolinios that I own ...and also these I wear with sheer pleasure and joy. As always: beautiful leather and craftsmanship- this is a sturdy, cute and very comfortable boot. [I am in fact amazed that the heel is 3inches high, as it really does not feel like it]. I am a size 9.5 - and ordered as such : boots fit me like a glove..and did not need to be broken in [which is very rare for me, as I have large protruding bunions on both feet]. HIghly recommend these boots! PS A very grateful and appreciative shout-out to the whole Zappos client support team: You are all awesome! You are all always so pleasant and fast with your assistance offered whenever there is an issue....and with this particular order you went above and beyond...Thank you Thank you!

These were perfect in every way!

For a 3" heel, this boot is VERY comfortable. I usually stop at a 2.5" heel, but needed the length with several pairs of jeans. In fact, I love the Pompeya so much, I ordered the brown after wearing the black for a week. The fit is spot on (I usually wear a 9.5 and ordered the 40) and the quality of the leather and heel is what you'd expect for the price. It's a very nice boot! I'll be wearing these for several years.

Love these so much! Heel is a little higher than I'm used to, so I probably won't wear them to do any extended walking. They fit true to size and feel more and more comfortable every time I wear them. They are beautiful!

These are the most beautifully made boots I have ever owned. The leather work is perfection inside and out. They fit true-to-size and the color is exactly as pictured on Zappos. I absolutely love them and as soon as the weather gets cool enough, they will be on my feet until the snow flies!

Lrngth great but width was way narrow

I love the color of these brown boots, very rich and warm. However, they are going back - for $200+, they have to be GREAT and these aren’t. I ordered a size larger than I usually wear, and still found them to be uncomfortably tight with a thin trouser sock. I have another pair of Pikolinos boots that is also a bit tight, after quite a bit of wear, so I know they won’t stretch to where they would be comfortable. Also, the heel is a little too high for my taste.

Very stunning boot, great soft leather. The fit was slightly too long and too tight in the toe area.
