Firm Walker /hiker. Sturdy, well made. I’m a true nine average with and can wear thick smartwool hiking socks in them. Comfortable but firm.

Well I put true to size I would say they feel a little roomy. I have a standard size 9 and need thicker smartwool socks with these. Could maybe have gone to 8.5 but walk long distances so wanted to insure they were not to small Incase of swelling. They are very supportive and look great! Very happy with purchase.

Ecco shoes are well-made, always comfortable and supportive. These run just a bit short ( usual for this brand). I always size up to wear with socks so then the fit is perfect.

While I like many Ecco styles, I have to pass on their sport shoes. While these might be appealing if they're used for travel where a lot of touristy walking might happen, for everyday sport shoes where I need a good hefty walking shoe for 3 plus miles of intense trekking, these are not up to the task. The comfort level isn't there and they don't look like a shoe designed for that. I consider them pretty much as an upgrade to a tennis shoe.

Fit felt true to size. Sadly the heel slipped too much once I replaced original insoles with Vionic active insoles. Heel did not slip with original insoles. Did not have this issue other brands.

Ecco, maybe it’s not you, it’s me. I have such a time finding a comfortable walking shoe and I’m thankful to Zappos for making it easier. This shoe is odd. Another reviewer mentioned that it’s very stiff, and that may be the best way to describe the problem. When I first received the shoes, they seemed to fit my feet well. I have been away from Winter for a while, thank goodness, and haven’t worn black. SO when we got home I began to try them around the house. I noticed, strangely, a ka-thonk, ka-thonk as I walked on hardwood floors. Well, that’s not me after all, it’s the shoe. So, can’t wear it.

Something odd about the fit--narrower than standard and yet longer as well. And it is uncomfortably stiff.
